As a manga reader i jst wanted to say sm things.
1) The spiritual core is at their unconsciousness area so normally when humans are under this dream spell they cant move their body. Demon hunters are sensitive to thirst of blood and that is why the demon used humans in this misson. Eventhough rengoku wasnt supposed to move, he moved. Although that girl didnt have any thirst of blood, he was able to sense her presence through his instinct.
2)Nobody should be in their unconsciousness area but zennitsu and innosuke were able to be there bcuz smtimes there are rare cases where people with strong consciousness will manifest in their own unconsciousness area.
3)Tanjirou's reflection on water, his father's appearance and nezuko box appearance were all warning frm tanjirou's own instinct. Tanjirou couldnt understand the small clues so his consciousness took all these forms and warned him.
4) If the ropes were cut using nichirin blade the humans who are in the demon slayers' dreams will not be able to wake up forever. So nezuko burning the rope with her blood demon art was the best choice.
5)Tanjirou's unconsciousness was warm and comfortable. The dwarfs were tanjirou's kindness. When the dwarfs guessed that, the guy was looking for tanjirou's spiritual core, they guided him there. Tanjirou's spiritual core was so bright and warm which made the guy wanted to stay there forever so when tanjirou woke up frm his dream, that guy was pulled back to reality but at that time he grabed one of the dwarfs so tanjirou's part of heart(kindness) rested in that guy's heart causing his heart which was in the darkness to brighten and warm up.
6)Zennitsu's unconsciousness was dark bcuz that's how he view himself as an unworthy guy and it shows how depressed he is

They don’t heal themselves with the breathing, they can stop the blood flow in the area or clench it to keep it closed
Basically they can clot the wound themselves.
yeah it's like stitching the wound closed. The wound stops bleeding but if they move too much the stiches can break open and they'll start bleeding again
Fun facts : Remember Rengoku's dream. Was not happy unlike others but Enmu showing happy sweet dreams, its because Rengoku was very strong and has a strong survival instinct to see the reality not the sweet delusion dream of Enmu thats why Enmu cant easily trick Rengoku in his technique

You fulfilled your duty.
I think it's heartbreaking that what Tanjiro most desire is in his past, something he will never have again.
And I think it speaks to a character when their greatest desire is only just in the present. Imagine being so strong that even if Rengoku loves his mother so much, he doesn't want anything but what he has now.
- Tanjiro's sword is black because he's basically undecided having two different forms of breathing technique.
- Zenitsu's ability is mostly in his subconscious so it wasn't a surprise he was using his breathing technique in there lol
- The demon IS the train so they can't do anything to stop it or slow it down.
- Tanjiro and the rest can't help because instead of focusing on the enemy, Rengoku is gonna be focused trying to save them which is his primary goal. Plus, Akaza wasn't serious in the fight until the end.

Actually, black swords are for people who's future isn't bright. That's proven in the manga since Tanjiro turns into a demon later.

Rengoku is such an honorable human being and hashira. He immediately accepted death for the sake of protecting others. He set all of our hearts ablaze in this movie.
If rengoku had the powers of a demon man I can't even imagine the possibilities . He'd be one hell of a force to reckon with

I saw this in theaters and it was the first anime movie I saw in that setting. That experience was an emotional rollercoaster. I was hyped and devastated
I love Akaza's astonishment at Rengoku's strength. I saw it in theatres with some friends and it's been constantly in my head because it's a mix of panic and admiration because Rengoku was that damn good. Also...Akaza's design, his techniques, that animation. I already have a cosplay being put together

Japanese speaker here. Rengoku (煉獄) is Japanese for “Purgatory” which is Hell, or cleansing flame, or whatever pious people call it. Idk why the subtitle didn’t translate it to the English meaning, maybe to put more impact and give people the same impression / effect that you have.
P.S. I’m a manga reader too, in the English translation of the manga it’s translated to Purgatory.
It's not named after him specifically, it's his family name, his last name, and that form has been passed down through many Rengoku family members bc it's a tradition for them to be Flame Hashira. So apart from literally meaning "purgatory/cleansing flame" it's a nod to the legacy.

He was only one of the two Hashiras that survived. He became gentle towards them in the end.
He stabbed nezuko while laughing at her brother. He is an asshole there's no going around that. Even if you may justify him stabbing her.

How strange is this: 40-50 minutes of appearance, and Rengoku will stay forever in our hearts. So powerful character! Chapeau, Ufotable!!! He is now some kind of Hiko Seijuro to me

To have been born to such a woman as you" I had the same reaction as the guy to the left. *sorry im new here I dont know all their names* its such an amazing line and I'm sad that no other reactors pay attention to it
Eh, the English voice actors are eh for me, but that's just a personal opinion. I feel like the Japanese voice actors hit harder...Also, inosuke's voice actor is a god awful voice for him like jesus.

The theme of human willpower runs strong in this movie. From the beginning, when the master states that demons can never take a human's will. Tanjiro exemplifies this when he is fighting Enmu and repeatedly kills his dream self to return to reality. Enmu even remarks what strong willpower Tanjiro has.
Rengoku completely embodies this when he sacrifices his real self to save the lives of others. He knows he will die but he fights nonetheless, he puts his life on the line nonetheless. Rengoku is a true hero that everyone should know. We need more Rengokus.

Rengoku isn’t a weak hashira …he actually had the most potential out of all of them to be one of the strongest hashira…he almost killed an upper moon rank 3 💀…with no transparent world or curse mark

I wouldn’t say he wasn’t trying at all lol. He obviously didn’t use his full strength nor his ultimate moves, but Rengoku was also not even at full strength at this point. Akaza is a beast doe!
@@thaniel_cg rengoku was technavly at his peak akaza said so. If he knew about the mark then yea rengoku could get stronger but at that time the whole mark thing was not known and wont be known for a while so at that point in the movie he was at peak streagnth.

However, you can definitely argue that he wasn’t at full capacity because he used breathing techniques while on the train as well. Even without the mark, and no help from anyone else, you could even argue he did a better job than Giyu does even with his mark.

Which is why Akaza is one of my fav demons along with Kokushibo. Out of curiosity how do you think a battle between Sanemi vs Akaza, and Gyomei vs Akaza would go? Lol.
Rengoku’s fighting spirit was so incredibly strong to its very core that his cells also tried an unique desperate tentative to clench/harden (like tanjiro did with his blood vessel) around Akaza’s arm to keep it trapped, making him unable to escape as easily.
That man was fighting an upper 3 demon with his mind, body and soul.
Each panel from a fight scene is a beautiful masterpiece

Definitely can't go 9. The first half before Akaza showed up wasn't that great and that Lower Moon demon wasn't anything really. It's mostly that Rengoku fight and the animation as usual that carries it. More like a 7 or 7.5/10 if you're being critical.
