I was trained in classical and only sight reading as a teen. I did not touch a piano for 50 years, but took it up again during Covid and got myself back to where I left off as a teen. I always wanted to play music from the 60's but didn't know how to go about it without transcribed sheets. Your description of how to start with lead sheets is so very good, and your English is perfect (I'm in the USA). THANK YOU ❣ Yes, you gained a new subscriber.
Gaining an insight into the process of the poetry of aesthetic sound exploration of Christian's mind: bringing to life such a classic song with a fresh perspective. A privilege to witness, thank you as always sir.
I learned SO MUCH from this video - it clarified and simplified so many things. I am going to keep working on this until it is flawless, but most of all... until I truly understand the "why" I am doing certain things. Could you please make a couple more videos like this. Thanks a bunch from Canada.
I love your style. It reminds me of my college professors that taught with a sense of humor and made learning relatively boring subjects like history and philosophy fun and interesting. I learned more in this video than in multiple videos teaching various methods of playing from a lead sheet. Thank you.
Fantastic tutorial, I've learned so much today. I've been following you for awhile now, enjoy all the content you put out there. I use lead/cheat sheets a lot, so this was really helpful. Will play this to perfection. Thanks Christian for another great tutorial!
@@ChristianFuchsBlues Hi, yep, nearly 200 days or so. Just informed yesterday that I no longer have a job too, so plenty of time for more tutorials 😉 My pianos have been on overdrive, so thanks for keeping me sane for the last 18 months or so 😘🎹🎶🍻
Thank you, Christian. Another great lesson 🙂 I want to try this on a melody I found, but it is in 3/4 time. What left hand pattern could work with that? A simple 1-5-3?
You mentioned try not to play major second or minor second for the notes in the melody when melody is at the top and I totally agree as it clashed but how do you explain if using extended chords when notes are clumped together ? Thank you so much
Thank you sir an other great tutorials. I'm a black man you are a white man we are from two different world but your humor is so so much like mine it is so freaking hard to believe.
His response to Siri at 10:30 was so unexpected and unprofessional. 🙁 I hope he speaks with more tact in upcoming videos because his videos are so well done and helpful otherwise.
Lighten up creative companion - anonymous of course! He's a creative type! Thank you Christian for your FREE video, cuss anytime you like. I learned so. much!
Good video! I pick up a lot of little tips, and you are entertaining :) Thanks

Christian, you are the best. Wish I lived in Berlin to take in person lessons.
Outstanding tutorial. Thank you Christian for sharing this with us.

Yes, humour helps. Unfortunately so few teachers have humour...
Thank you!!! I learned a lot! ❤
Thank you very much, very helpful tutorial!
Good stuff. Coming to the keyboard from rhythm guitar, this fits right in with my own approach.
Wonderful tutorial!
Great improv at the end. I love this song. Will work on it starting today!

“Just one note here, nobody dies from it”😅
I cracked up at that..... Siri too 😂 stfu, the learning was so intense at that point, WE ARE NOT TO BE INTERUPTED 😅

Yep. You might also want to try. 153 535 ( that would be two bars, not my phone number...)
I would like to ask how do I know when to play melody matching the left hand rythm?
You mentioned try not to play major second or minor second for the notes in the melody when melody is at the top and I totally agree as it clashed but how do you explain if using extended chords when notes are clumped together ? Thank you so much
Good

I was thinking all through the video "I could do that". Then I heard the Na Na Na bit at the end and I felt so inferior. 🙂
