- Ouchi Juku Traditional Village
An ancient village built during the Edo period (circa 1640) as a camping village connecting the Aizu region (Fukushima prefecture) and Shimosuke region. Nokuni (Shimotsuke no Kuni) (present-day Tochigi Prefecture) were 130 kilometers apart. Because of this long distance, there must have been villages for camping along the way.
Today the ancient village of Ouchi Juku is located in Fukushima Prefecture and is registered as a Nationally Valuable Building Conservation Area.
