    / jrosejazz

    ----- ABOUT THE TUNE-----
    "I Got Rhythm" is a song composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin and published, which became a jazz standard. Its chord progression, known as the "rhythm changes", is the foundation for many other popular jazz tunes such as Charlie Parker's and Dizzy Gillespie's Bebop standard "Anthropology (Thrivin' From a Riff)". The song has become symbolic of the Gershwins, of swing, and of the 1920s.
    ----- LYRICS -----
    Days can be sunny,
    With never a sigh ;
    Don't need what money can buy.
    Birds in the tree sing
    Their dayful of song,
    Why shouldn't we sing along?
    I'm chipper all the day,
    Happy with my lot.
    How do I get that way?
    Look at what I've got :
    I got rhythm
    I got music
    I got my gal
    Who could ask for anything more?
    I got daisies
    In green pastures,
    I got my gal
    Who could ask for anything more?
    Ol'Man Trouble,
    I don't mind him.
    You won't find him
    'Round my door.
    I got starlight,
    I got sweet dreams,
    I got my gal,
    Who could ask for anything more?
    Who could ask for anything more?

    I like the visuals, especially the frames "hopping" when a certain voice chimes in. It made me smile.

    Thanks! I use Sony Vegas Pro and simply create close keyframes and have the videos move rapidly from one keyframe to the next. I then add smooth & fast transitions to add add acceleration / deceleration effect to the movement. :)

  • @JulienNeel
    @JulienNeel  12 років тому

    Yeah, my low range used to fluctuate too, but I noticed that it was because I was creating tension in my throat. When you learn to sing with less tension, your lower range develops, as well as the depth of your voice. But since you feel less resistance in your throat, it can be a little surprising at first, since you feel nothing. But if you record yourself, you'll see how much bigger and fuller the sound is. Opera singers with an orchestra can't hear themselves, they mostly rely on feeling. :)

    As for iTunes, I could put it there, yes. The problem is that it's far from being free to upload music on iTunes, there are mechanical licensing fees (copyright holder) and well as iTunes space rental fees (to be allowed to sell on iTunes), and on top of that iTunes takes another cut on sales (~25%).
    In the end, the artist gets nearly nothing, unless the sales are in the hundreds, which I doubt will happen for this tune.

  • @JulienNeel
    @JulienNeel  12 років тому +1

    Yes of course: I sing all my songs from sheet music. The arrangements I use are for 4 male voices a cappella. :)

    As always: I'm open to new song ideas and take suggestions. I only ask that you provide me with sheet music to work from. All the song I perform are based off sheet music, it's a necessary (and time consuming) step. So if you've got sheet music, preferably for TTBB male a cappella, shoot. :)

    This is probably the only form of music (that I know anyway) that really shows off what someones voice can do rather that having it in the background with the instruments creating the tune. The harmony is brilliant (quick note I've probably used harmony in the wrong context).

    Video tricks? There are merely a few fade ins/outs and some movement every now and then, in places I felt would be appropriate.
    Several people mentioned my videos felt a bit static, so I tried something with a little more action for a change. The eye also has to be entertained too, this is a video. ;)
