This version might be my favorite Editors song of all time, but the album version was a huge disappointment. It still irks me that there's likely a studio recording of this version produced by Flood from the scrapped album sessions sitting on a hard drive somewhere that we may never hear.

Could not agree more. The album version is haunting. I don't mind this version but it doesn't have the same feel as the album. That being said Chris' chorus riff is annoying af.
The Weight of Your Love was weak and too adult contemporary. I understand that they wanted to change direction but this version sounds like a mix of 80s and u2, and really could have made a new peak for the band.
Yeah so too, I'm searching for what the fourth Editors record would have sounded like through live stuff that got out. There's a version of The Sting, just the audio with prominent synth definitely from Chris.
I come here to listen to this at least once a week. I love Editors, and I love this version of Two Hearted Spider.

How did they dare to put the lame-ass Version on the album instead of this ... its so much more intense and full of emotion.
