Draw the m in and tell everyone you meant to do it that way. With junk journaling things can be quirky and nobody cares! In my current Summer Travel Journal I have put the dates on wrong or upside down so many times. It's a mazing what a little piece of paper and a glue can do for repairs. I am working in a hard cover journal right now and will make a soft cover like yours when I get home because mine is getting to be quite a chunky monkey without a lot of forgiveness! Hope it lasts another three weeks!

Gold splatters do make life more magical! 😁 And may I say again that I think this is your best digital set yet! There’s something so serene about the hues, shades & tones you’ve chosen.
(I am a big fan of metallics - made some gorgeous Gelli prints on brown packing paper, where I just put little blobs of rich gold, rose gold, copper & silver, then semi-blended them with a brayer to make a lovely blend of all the colours so they meld together but still have areas of each colour. Still planning to add some small patches of rust, turquoise & burgundy dry brushed on as well to really make them a rich colour blend. … sorry, babbling as I just finished night shift & need to sleep. Night night 😊 16:00 still watching - and just remembered where my inspiration came from - that Tim Holtz fabric lol. Ok. Really must sleep & watch the rest later zzzzzzzzz

I’m with you! It’s not easy to teach the brain to let go, but so rewarding when we can. I have found that embracing relatively uncontrollable mediums like Brushos, alcohol inks, watercolour & the Gelli plate have helped. Out of all the things I’ve created, it’s ones I never meant to make but who just told me what they wanted to be, that I tend to love best. Even in comparison to intricate projects I’ve spent days on.

Septeber is a new abbreviation. Here. Problem solved. :) You can also make a humorous memorable art out of it by gluing a cut out insertion sign (like a V) and adding a B and a smile on top. Or something like that. And on the inside of the fabric cover with a wrinkle you can glue a tuck spot (or something like that) to cover it.

IDEA!!! 😂 You could add the M either toward or on the bottom of the page, to make it look like it’s falling? As in Fall, or autumn. So it would be an indirect way to imply the autumn season. Maybe a tiny leaf underneath would help make the suggestion?

In case you need another book to read, I highly recommend “When We Have Wings” by Claire Corbett (an Australian author). On the surface, it’s very different to this author’s, but it’s fascinating in many ways. It’s set in a future where technology has enabled humans to be adapted to have wings grafted on. And this changes our world, because it literally elevates those who can afford them, to truly live looking down on others. But of course, many of the wealthy need nannies for their hopefully winged children (genetically modified through the process their parents went through to enable their body to go through the grafting process & to survive the unique conditions required of flight). But children are a whole new issue. Those with two winged parents are more likely to be able to be modified, but some can’t. So what happens if you have parents whose child can’t live fully in a world created for the winged? Especially in a community sector often so focused on being the best & flawless? And how do you cater best for children in a world of elevated platforms without many stairs, even if they can grow wings? So some poorer people can have the opportunity for truly life-changing surgery to staff the homes of the winged. But of course, this sort of division in society creates wider problems & opportunities for corruption, rebellion & social change.
There’s more though - the book starts with an inexplicable murder of a friend of the main protagonist, a fellow Nanny. And throughout the book, the mystery of why she was murdered is unravelled, as well as many other layers of mystery & intrigue. And throughout, the author manages to describe the experiences of the winged in such a way that you will truly believe that one day, humans having wings will not just be possible but inevitable. And she describes the nuances of flight so eloquently & descriptively, that you will literally feel what it might be like to fly.
I read this book many years ago, just as I qualified as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic in Australia & started working on a helicopter. As I read it & spent hours flying around my region, separated from the air currents by only a thin skin of metal, and on occasions with windows & doors open, the water or ground rushing by or bearing closer. And as I was immersed in a world of flight, I realised just how accurate her descriptions of it are. So it gave me a unique understanding of this part of the world I was spending so much time in. I actually did a review along those lines & the author contacted me. Apparently she spent time with hang gliders to do research into how flight actually feels, to make it as realistic as possible.
So not only did I enjoy the intrigue, the characters & the stark look at how society could possibly be even more sharply divided into “the haves” & “the have nots”, it has always stayed with me as a memory of what might be possible. So much so, that when I try to shut my brain down before sleeping (not always easy in my line of work), I actually use the imagery of lying on my side & being able to fold a soft wing over myself to keep me cocooned in warmth & safety. And when a breeze whispers over me, I use that imagery to imagine using the wind to soar.
Anyway. As I said, it might not be your style of book at all, but if you ever do read it, I hope you enjoy it & get as much out of it as I did.

In case you need another book to read, I highly recommend “When We Have Wings” by Claire Corbett (an Australian author). On the surface, it’s very different to what you’ve read, but it’s fascinating in many ways.
And if anyone else reading this happens to know a huge movie producer, imo this would make an excellent movie!
    Kind regards, Carrie 😊

On my 2nd one(which i did NOT sew the pocket down this time), and i added black paint splatters….as i am drying them with my hair dryer, i am also eating a slice of pizza and dipping it into basalmic fig glaze. I thought i dripped glaze on the table, so i used my finger to get it and licked it --it was paint!!! NOT sauce!😂😂😂😂😂
