I know that it was a while ago now. But, at 0:24 I noticed a 'Tommy' helmet on the tarp. It has a brown liner? Is it Belgian or did some British helmets come with brown liners?
Hi Simon - just looking back at this video as I was sure that I had seen reference to the 'Home Guard' respirator tin on your channel previously. I managed to pick one up at War and Peace this week, however it is missing the string/cord carrying strap. What would your recommendation be for a suitable replacement? Many Thanks
Hi Luke, I can't advise on a source for replacement cord but I understand it is known as 'cod line' It's similar to old cotton washing line cord. If you drop me a message on FB I can send you some close up photos.
I suggest turning on subtitles for the drill section.
I miss my re enactment days. And i really regret selling off all my collection, which took yrs to acquire.

Ah, no that's a Belgian liner being used as a stand in on a helmet where the liner had deteriorated.
@@RiflemanMoore Thought so, thank you

Toothbrush was a bargain for £2 eh?
£3 but yes, indeed!
I cringed when you guys swung those bayonet out while people walked by so close to you.
Really? I didn't see any real inherent danger at the time.
My_Name Is_Mud I bet you haven’t been out of your house since the lockdown!.
I have a 1937 respirator in a tin.
Very nice, you should do a video on it!
