You know what makes your channel so enjoyable? That you and Mrs. Cog Hill treat the animals like people. You talk to them like folk and talk to each other about them like they're your family "Did you talk to him about the camper?" I love this so much and the laughter. Lord, thank you for the laughter.
You should get some of the youtuber homesteads to come and have an old fashioned barn raising, except it would be your house and maybe some of the buildings for animals. I don't have a homestead, but if I was physically able, I would come help.
@@cowtownoklaHere is logic. I am no real estate person. Just someone I think who has commen sence. I believe they need to sell the present house to fund a new house construction. Also taxes on 2 property's may be too much. And yet a 3rd one, the mothers house. By obtaining the trailers. They wipe out taxes on two properties. And only have one. Which they can't recoup taxes paid. Consolidating is the way to go. They need to sell while the market is hot. The trailer will hold its value to sell after the new house is built. Recouping those funds later. And using the funds abtained to build new house. And gaining interests on funds from sale in the mean time. They could in fact invest the funds. The purchase of the trailers are also deductible on income tax. Avoids capital gains taxes for the sale of their homes. They need to see a tax consult, so they can understand their situation better. 😂 And not step in a pile of poop.
@@evamccray6500 Yes I live in a single wide and you can buy one way cheaper than campers and you'll have more living space until you build your home and then re-sale it afterwards.

I do so envy the 'trip' you have begun with your new property. I too have a love for peaches. In my opinion the season is much to short. Instead of peeling the peaches as you do, I boil water and let the peaches sit in the water for about 5min. The skins then just slide off in your hands, quick and easy. Love the videos, keep them coming.
It's amazing to me how you have learned to use only one hand to do the chores! There are more Hook bills somewhere and we all know that there are many, many Walmarts! Love your videos! Campers are amazing conveniences! GOD bless

It's so fun to watch Nugget run around like crazy in the mornings. And I love the way you talk to the animals. I agree with what others are saying about getting a used mobile home instead of a travel trailer. You can get a 3BR, 2 Bath single wide that would have room for MC's birds.
Have you ever noticed how in the shade you can see a lot more different shades of green? That's why I never got on board with people's talk of _gloomy_ days. On overcast days, you get the same effect, and there's an explosion of different shades of green and that lifts my spirits. It seems to me that people that complain of those days never open their eyes to the outdoors. How can we help them see all the beauty around them? There was one time when I was camping. I got up early to watch the sun rise. What I got was rain with it being dark. I was bewildered as I seen a million sparkels of light coming off the bushes and trees on the hill top next where I was. I of course went to investagate. What I found was drops of rain reflecting a campfire from the othr side of the hill. The best part was when I looked closer at the flickering drops I saw the camp fire perfectly burning in every single drop. It was amazing. Don't overlook the little things and you'll be a lot more thankfull.
I blanche my peaches and tomatoes in just under boiling water for about 45 seconds to a minute. The skins slip off, and it doesn’t cook the fruit. For what it’s worth, we’ve owned several campers. We’ve bought new and used. The new ones lose value quickly. We’ve found getting a well maintained used camper to be a better choice. Always enjoy your videos.

Backpacking food has been freeze dried for years. It is amazing the selections. Trust me, it has gotten a LOT better over the years. This year was tough for the farmers here in the southwest. COVID and Little or no rain and water shortages. As soon as the farmer’s markets kick back up again, I’ll start canning and freezing again. I love the idea of the Harvest Rite.
My thought also. My Friend took two to three years to build his home, meanwhile he lived in a mobile home onsite. Power, water and septic were branches off the main utilities put in for the house. Kept the axles on so he could disconnect the utilities, replace the wheels and roll it away. When time to disconnect they capped them off and buried the hookups. The only drawback is regulatory, Property taxes, town zoning, HOA's and covenants, etc. may prevent someone from using the mobile home as a temporary housing.
Yep...im thinking the same thing. But lots of folks in tornado alley avoid them. But the RV is the same. But the used mobile home might be more available to purchase at this time. Either one will lose value. J personally wouldn't want to put that much money in a new camper if my intent was just to use it as lodging until I built a new home. Used Trailor much more economical.

@@CogHillFarm I have used both 110v and LP gas refrigerators, it depends on the brand. But honestly you might choose to keep your fridge and Washer/Dryer in a building outside of your RV. Which is what we did while building our cabin. The workshop had electric, water and LP gas already installed. So for us putting the major appliances in there made the most sense for us.

My family has been living in our 5th wheel Saber 36bhq by forests river for 11 months and love it! It’s been the perfect set up for our family of 3. We have no plans to move into a stick built anytime soon!!! We are in our first year of homesteading and watch all of your vids for inspiration!!! Thank you for producing such great quality family entertainment!!!
Love that you are taking us along on your adventure! Wow, lots of the campers were nice, but I know it will only be for a short time. God bless your family!
Go see more campers at several dealerships. Sleep on it, think on it, picture it where you will put it. When you walk into the right one, you'll know it almost immediately.
Do a Pro / Con List on each Camper. This is the way I would sell houses as a Real Estate Agent. Take a tablet with you as your walking in each Camper stop and do the Pro / Con list before you leave the camper ask for the pictures and plans to take home.
Check into getting a modular home for your mom. Until your home is built, live in the modular home and get your mom a camper. I had a nice little modular home, felt and looked like a regular home. You, also, can resell those as well if it doesn't work out to your liking. 💖🐱👤
We had some land in Cleveland Ga we used as a "getaway" and just bought one of those wooden sheds you see everywhere. It is a 10x20 and has a bathroom, kitchen and bed/living area. Nothing fancy but we loved staying in it "off grid". We no longer have that land and moved the "tiny cabin" to our place we live at and use it as a guest cabin. That might be an option for y'all....a bigger building of course. But something you can still use after the house is built.
Really good idea and the could also put 2 together in any pattern they want. Really inexpensive compared to trailers, but still have to insulate, wire, do plumbing & other hookups. Still, I've seen some turned into cottages for AirB&B rentals that were really nice.
@@velc4773 If you search wood sheds on Pinterest, Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes... all have them. But I'd start on pinterest first. That's where you'll get ideas on how to customize them. Keep in mind you'd have to insulate, add electric, plumbing, windows etc. But you'll some neat ideas on Pinterest that shows how people have turned them into tiny homes, guest quarters and rentals. And the people who sell the sheds post to pinterest with links. Also search barn shed ideas. But first do the same searches on UA-cam and there are videos on how people customized theirs.
What about a double wide? You could keep it and use it as a guest house once your house is built. Or maybe as an AirBnB for some extra income. People would pay to come live on a farm for a week. You could even give them some light chores if they wanted so they could experience the farm life. Or offer homesteading classes and use the trailer as housing. The possibilities are endless. Also, you could grind those freeze dried peaches into a powder and add it to a homemade ice cream base for a super concentrated peach flavor.
I bet the one y'all looked at that was a toy hauler has a place in the master closet or a separate one that has a place for a washer/dryer combined. That's how it is in my daughters camper that's a toy hauler. My grandson loves the hidden bed above in the kitchen there.
Feeling your pain in trailer shopping. Lol. We looked for almost a year… finally settled on a Big Horn 34 with 3 slides. Only two of us so didn’t need extra beds. The electric fireplace puts out heat, wasn’t really wanting it but came with it. We did the toy hauler with the bunkhouse for about 20 years while the kids were home since we did the quads and side by sides. It is a rabbit hole to find a trailer. There are definitely shortage in availability. Be blessed and we look forward to seeing the developments in the new farm ❤️🌿
To easily peel peaches first make sure they are ripe, set into boiling water for a couple minutes, take out and put into an ice bath. The skin will then slip off. If the peaches are a freestone variety (later summer harvest) they slept in half easily, you don’t lose any of your peach in peeling or slicing off of the pit. I grew up in Palisade, Colorado - known for its peaches. My first job was packing peaches at the packing warehouse, I used to ride my horse to work....seriously. 😃.
From experience: you want a slide out outdoor indoor kitchen. Not only does it give you more space options but if you do all your cooking inside it adds heat to the inside but odors from your cooking stay sealed in the camper for ages. You have to be careful what you cook inside because you will be living with the odor for a long time.
Hey guys! Just a few tips for consumer awareness when RV shopping. Never get a travel trailer that has no roof ladder. That would mean the roof isn’t built sturdy enough to walk on for periodic inspections. Have your rig inspected by a professional before buying...even newly built ones. If you want two baths, toy haulers generally are the ones most likely to have more than one bath. Check all the load maxes when it comes to towing so you can properly match tow vehicle to the trailer.
A tip for you when you do get a travel trailer. Storm winds can make it scary. I lived in RV park while transition across the state. They had anchors in the ground so you could use a ratchet strat to hold the camper down. You could used ground anchors in concrete. To make it more stable.
You guys are the best. I wear my Coghill hat all the time and people ask me about it and I tell them about your channel. If you ever need to know anything about camper life - just ask me anything because I’m going on year two permanent living in a camper. I have a 32 ft Keystone Cougar with a deck under a carport that I’m going to turn into a building
Don't know if you follow the Walker Farm FAM but they just lost quite a few chickens to they think coyotes recently! Their boy Ransom was quite upset because one was his favorite, tame chicken, Grace( I believe she was a Buff Orphington? and he was able to carry her around) and some black ones, and one or two roosters! They had just cut their hay field and predators had a clear sight to the chickens! Maybe MC has a tame chicken to replace Ransom's pet!? Just putting it out there! God Bless!
YES! I posted yesterday that Ransom needs to get in touch with MaryCarl. Thx LLjean for letting Cog Squad know about that family's loss. It was too sad that they lost the 3 of their best and most faves. Plus their Tom. smh
That’s so sad I’ll have to run over there and give them my sympathy I lost my rooster Luke who was my little butter ball the neighbor pulled into my driveway and hit him on accident
I was standing in the yard talking with my friend while her chickens scratched in the dirt around us. Coyote jumped the fence 2 feet away, grabbed a chicken and jumped back over... gone. We didn't have time to do squat, it was that fast.
Susie Clary.....Yes, I just found out about that, and he said that the hatchery was going to replace his chicks( they were brand new chicks!) but they had to catch that rat first so it does not happen again! Very nice for the McMurray hatchery to do that for them! God Bless!
Have you considered getting a 2 bed single wide that you can use until your house is built, that suits mum as her home. And get the travel trailer that you want for travelling for your mum to use until the house is built. Then you don't need to sell either of them after you move into your new home.
I was like y'all when first buying and I wanted big bedroom and stuff. After living in it. I then realized it was better to make sure you our kitchen and eating area worked. That's where you spend you time. Just saying
Love the blood red peaches. I did find some in TN. Off 65 X E30. We buy them near Traverse city, Mi. By the by if you get any more geese they'll be taking over your chickens.♥️😄. Hopes that the new storm passes you by.
Keep in mind there are campers you can put stackable washer and dryer in. Now our motor home has a washer dryer combo but it isn’t real big. But there is only the two of us so it will work for us. Keep in mi d if you get a camper with apposing slide outs it gives you more room.
As an RV owner I have some advice for y'all. You'll want Canadian rated insulation and a residential refrigerator. The camper/RV friges are attached to the outside which makes them inefficient at best. The insulation is necessary in warm weather as much as it would be in cold weather. Without it you'll find that condensation will build up inside when running the AC. That is very frustrating to say the least. Then of course there are the extras such as a washer and dryer, full size stove/oven combo, shower, etc. Keep in mind that often times a camper/RV can be custom built to your specifications often for cheaper even than those on a lot, if you go directly to the manufacturer to order. Good luck in your search for the perfect setup! Remain resolute and diligent and y'all will find the right one.
I know I’m watching this 2 Years later but next time you do this take those peach scraps and make peach jelly from them. Then there’s absolutely no waste from that beautiful peach.

We have no plans to move into a stick built anytime soon!!! We are in our first year of homesteading and watch all of your vids for inspiration!!! Thank you for producing such great quality family entertainment!!!
New adventure in progress for the Cog Hill Farm. Enjoy !
There's my girl. Hi MaryCarl 😊 They freeze dryer would be worth the money. Hope you find the camper you really like. God bless 🙏❤🇺🇸
Love that you are taking us along on your adventure! Wow, lots of the campers were nice, but I know it will only be for a short time. God bless your family!
Yes take your chairs!! And all your buildings for the chickens!
Go see more campers at several dealerships. Sleep on it, think on it, picture it where you will put it. When you walk into the right one, you'll know it almost immediately.
Love watching the nugBolt running😂
If ya got a park model it could be MC 's when she grows up and wants her own place😊
I Love starting out my day with watching the antics of Nugget!! ❤️❤️🤗❤️💕❤️💕
Mrs CogHill you look so pretty in that beautiful blouse. You are lovely inside and out💞Grandma Colorado sends hugs to y’all.
Get an old claw foot tub and a tankless water heater. You can bath outside. You could build a litter shelter around it.
Where can I search for one?
Another great idea. After use could be moved around on farm for animal or other farming structures such as a potting shed, feed storage, etc.
Nugget really seems to enjoy running down the birds. LOL
More videos would be awesome!! 3, 4, 5, and etc. The more the merrier. Just love watching your journey.
Your place has become so beautiful and park-like. . I wouldn't leave it for a trailer until the last possible moment.
I love all the animals. That's what I dreamed of as a child. ❤👍
I just love watching your all’s morning routine it lifts my Spirit
Good Morning!! I just Love going along with Your Family!!! God Bless and have a Wonderful Day!! ⚘😊❤
It would be neat to see the farm throughout the years and see how it had changed, and to see all the hard work you guys have done.
have your zucchini's finished - rings and grated zucc's in the freeze drier going into winter meals would also be great
The one with the toy hauler gives you a place to keep the birds
I hope you're freeze drying the peels. I use peach dust on top of yogurt and icecream.
Can you please offer the "Cornbread & Collards" t-shirts again? My husband and I would love one of those!!
It is there :) shop.spreadshirt.com/coghillfarm/cornbread+and+collards?idea=60d799f69be603403e7bac49
Peach easy peel. Blanch in a pot of boiling water for 2 min, then plunge into ice water. The skins slip off!😘🇨🇦
You could turn the little blue camper into a chicken coup out at the 40
To easily peel peaches first make sure they are ripe, set into boiling water for a couple minutes, take out and put into an ice bath.
Nugget runs like a drunken sailor on leave! "...slow down in traffic, buddy...'. LOL
It’s fascinating how green the south gets in the summer which is the complete opposite of where I am in Northern California
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 67 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 🖤🖤
Mrs, Coghill, looked quite fetching, wishing you all good luck, with your shopping. Thank you for the smiles 😊
Wow this place is pretty. Nugget bird running around! 🤣😂
We would have blackberrie cobbler at Christmas! Double crust. 😋👍
If you drop peaches in simmering water for about 20 seconds the peel will slide off really easy. Faster than peeling.
I think you farm is so pretty and I love the names you give the animals.❤️🙏
Don't forget, there are slideouts in there to make it bigger.
Justin Rhodes lost 100 chicks to a rat today. Killed 'em all.
Hey peaches 😍 you know the farm boss has to have all the nice stuff lol
Keep in mind there are campers you can put stackable washer and dryer in. Now our motor home has a washer dryer combo but it isn’t real big. But there is only the two of us so it will work for us. Keep in mi d if you get a camper with apposing slide outs it gives you more room.
Funny, just as you were saying they're all alike, I noticed the bathroom had it's own outdoor entrance.
Can't wait to see the cobbler God Bless and have a wonderful day/night 🙏
I know I’m watching this 2
Years later but next time you do this take those peach scraps and make peach jelly from them. Then there’s absolutely no waste from that beautiful peach.
