A lot of the time I associated Jazz with Japan, especially since there were so many video games that had jazz in them, all of which had a style you can't find anywhere else. It's amazing, and in short, it's even nostalgic. Im only now an adult but the music takes me back farther than I thought
On my bucket list. Bob James and Keiko Matsui played here. Seen Al Jarreau Joe Zawinul and Vanessa Williams on the foyer there ... and Incognito, still talkin loud after all these years. Bet you Petersons been at this franchise a few times too. Ok.. enough name dropping. Thanks for this. Greetings from the Scottish Highlands.
Was trying to get context for an assignment I'm doing and this really helps get me in the right headspace. Thank you! Hoping to visit that space whenever I eventually head over there.
I grew up listening to New York and NOLA jazz, which I loved. But, when I moved to Tokyo and got a taste of the jazz over there I quickly got a new favorite. Amazing place this one here and can't wait to go back.
I’ve been to the Cotton Club in Tokyo (to see Tom Harrell) and the Billboard Live club in Osaka (to see Blicher-Hemmer-Gadd). My friend Eric Miyashiro directs the Blue Note Tokyo All-Star Big Band, so I hope to check out one of their gigs someday.
Looks like an awesome place and I enjoyed your video of it. But from what I have read, a couple could easily drop $300 plus for an evening for drinks and some appetizers. Where other clubs would you recommend for more reasonable economics but still fiery notes?
🎶🎵 The magic of jazz knows no boundaries! That moment when your boss walks in and shares a smile, revealing their love for this incredible genre, is simply priceless. It's a reminder that music transcends differences and brings us closer. To all jazz enthusiasts, let's celebrate this beautiful connection! 🌟🎹
It seems people all over the world actually appreciate jazz more than it’s actual birthplace(USA). It’s considered Americas only true art form but it’s not listened to as much in the USA these days. It’s sad.
It depends on who you ask. Enormous amounts of people in Japan, Europe and others also don't listen to Jazz that much. But there is still a huge following in America, Europe, Japan and around the world. I would also heavily disagree with the notion that Jazz is Americas only true art form because they also created Rock n Roll, Blues and Country. Let's not try to downplay America's contributions.
where are all the comments?
I’m lonely :p
Who else really wants to go here!? It looks really cool!
Hello there, this is an awesome vid very appealing
that's the Jazz way of life: not having to comment on everything
Yes indeed
This is so my kind of vibe and style
Blue note is an awesome place to chill and meet very interesting people
Went here in 2017, awesome club. Expensive but good food and drinks, amazing artists, and the vibe is on point.
Can foreigners buy a ticket for the show? Being a member requires Japan address.
felt like I was really about to sit down, eat, and enjoy some music, but instead left abruptly.
It’s an amazing city - had been there few months ago. Best regards from Jazzkeller Frankfurt Germany
wusste nicht dass wir etwas vergleichbares hierzulande haben, werde nach Corona garantiert mal vorbeischauen! Hoffe ihr kommt gut durch die Krise
Would love to see more content exploring the music scene!

Yes jazz was created by black Americans in usa. That music has heavily influenced the world

I'd prefer the low-key more "hole in the wall" type places. More relaxing.

Only the rolling stones can play Jazz better .

Nice video but gosh the voice-over is horrible and just ruins everything
