Cutting off and reattaching a warp

This is a really old video that a student took during a class that mom and I taught years ago, in which I (with input from Mom) demonstrate cutting off a warp and reattaching it quickly, using sticks and velcro cable ties.

Brilliant!!!! And, you all sound like you are having so much fun. How would you put a Velcro in the middle? Would you just use a strong piece of yarn or string?
