- Aired (September 7, 2018): Drew goes to Ilocos Norte and tries some of the province's popular local dishes like Bagnet, Pinakbet, and Poque-poque! His food trip then leads him to two of Ilocos Norte's most famous tourist attractions, the Bangui Windmills and Badoc Island where the real adventure up north awaits!

I see a lot of negative comments here as far as Drew’s taste palate is concerned. Not to be judgmental to y’all, it’s not easy to adapt to certain flavors if you didn’t grow up eating or tasting it. More so if we’re talking about different flavors from region to region. If anything, I admire him for being brutally honest about the taste of the food he’s trying (especially if the flavors has an acquired taste to it). We all have our preferences, let’s respect him for not wanting certain foods that he wasn’t accustomed to eating. Suffice it to say that he’s trying to explore places and the dishes that the region is known for to share to the viewers so we all can familiarize ourselves to their food culture, that’s a good thing. Traveling is more fun when you try different flavors, kudos to him for being a good sport in ingesting certain food he doesn’t like for the sake of experience. If anything people should appreciate him more for even trying, cause really he doesn’t need to. The show is about food and destinations, hence he needs to show which ones lived up to his expectations or not.

To everyone commenting that Mr. Drew Arellano should do this or that in food tasting, or those comparing him to other food enthusiasts asking him to be like them, PLEASE keep in mind that everyone has their own preferences. Sir Drew is just describing the food honestly in his point of view. Also he's hosting a "travel" documentary. He's not a chef or a primary food "tester". I bet kayo din naman may masasabi kayo sa mga kinakain niyo. And some for sure hindi pumasa sa taste niyo. Sir Drew also have the right to his opinion just as you have. Rather than saying he's not appreciative, I think he's polite. Kaya niyang sabihing hindi niya masyadong nagustuhan yung food in a way that is still respectful. 😊

Drew, you are probably the luckiest person alive travelling right now, not just about travelling but to be able to explore our country as a jobnis priceless. I wishpumunta kaayo more sa mindanao kung saan mayaman din ang ating kultura. Sa Cagayan de oro, Bukidnon and especialy Camiguin sialnd where i grew up. Or Drew,try to visit lokal tribes too, if you can. Not to promote it, but just to share how rich of culture and spiritual knowledge we already had or were,without any form of influence of the colonizations. Mabuhay tayo mga pinoy.

From old church to sand dune and modern windmills , there are so much more to experience such Ilocos food delicacies. Guys! If your tired of the usual empnada batac, may isa pa na masarap. Somewhere in bacarra. Sa brgy onse yata yun. Same empanada pero different yung balat. Mas crispy. And then theres this sweet empanada somewhere in laoag. Dun sa tabi ng K Servico. Masarap pramis! ☺️🤤

oh my province Ilocos Norte.nagimas talaga ilocano food.im a chef from Bilbao Spain based in scotland but most of my dish are mediterrenean cuisine spanish cuisine ,gastronomia vasca ,molecular gastronomy and western cuisine .pero mas masarap paren ilocano cuisine thats why i want to learn more about ilocano food .

Pangarap ko talagang maka punta sa ilocos sa Lugar ng Mga Marcoses at gusto Kong matikman ang Luton ilocano lalo na poro Gulay nko po yan ang gusto Kong kainin para sa kalusogan.. All my favorite yummy in my tummy. I can’t wait to visit Ilocos Norte my hometown. Anyway, bagoong is ok as long as moderate or once in a while and make sure drink a lot of water after to drain all the sodium in your body. LOL!

I've been to many places in the Philippines and the farthest north I've been is in Kapangan, Benguet province when we did a medical mission. I always wanted to visit the Ilocos region. Ilocos is in my bucket list. One of the reasons that prevent me from visiting Ilocos when I was residing in the Philippines is the peace and order situation there. I am sure it has changed
