This is a BAJAN GEM originally sung by Jackie Opel. I'm glad that our dear neighbors in Jamaica and even Trinidad and Tobago welcomed him as their own especially Jamaica since he recorded with Clement "Coxsone" Dodd under Studio One Records in the earlier 60s era with the Ska Beat. Although he was mostly known for Reggae and Soul over there, he's a hero for local singers and musicians for creating a genre in the late 60s-70s called Spouge Music which just like disco didn't last very long. It was a mixture of Reggae, Calypso and the late 70s, Disco sounds. I'm not sure that you'll find more information via Wikipedia, but although I'm a youngster, I grown up on his music. Rest in peace Godfather of Caribbean Soul!!! Blessup from Barbados!! :)
