I will never leave 1.7.10. There's basically no reason to (in my eyes of course) when there's mods like village names, et futurum requiem, netherlicious, netherite plus and novacraft that bring all the new feats into 1.7.10.
honestly my biggest issue with minecraft is i dont think any updates past 1.7.10 added anything more interesting than mods brought. Things like the nether update is an embarrassment compared to what modders made back in the day and a lot of the best mods are stuck in these old versions so i also end up preferring 1.7.10. Just the best version to create the best modpacks
