Son Wukong is the name of the Monkey King from the Chinese novel Journey to the West - in Korean his name is 손오공 and in Japanese his name is Son Goku. Goku the Dragon Ball Z character was originally inspired by the Monkey King, so that's why they share a name. Woozi's such a big anime fan tho - the lyrics and the choreo definitely have references to both the novel and the show.

I got into Seventeen because of Woozi on Suchwita. Ive been a kpop fan for about 16 years now, I always knew of SVT but never went beyond Nice or Fighting. I'm a fan of Sun Wukong though so I was intrigued, clicked on the mv, instantly fell in love with Woozi and even after listening to this song several times a day for months I'm still not sick of it.
I feel like this song really sums up Sun Wukong, in the novel anyway, he just talks his shit all the time and pisses everyone off, but always does exactly what he says he will, so then everyone gets even more mad at him, it's great lmao
edit: for some reason i was also really impressed that instead of some insane dance break at the end to that beat, they just casually sauntered into place, Woozi murdered me with that look pls, and that felt so powerful idk why
