Hi friends! I hope you enjoyed today's video learning along with me... Leave me a comment letting me know what you think about the Toner Ink Pad. :) ✭ FULL supply list with PICTURES: ldli.co/e/z27xn7
Oh!! Look at you!! I have been following you since you started, and now you are all grown up and have your own inks paper and stamps!!! I'm so happy for you!
I hope this is not inappropriate, but I’d like to share my method (I have never seen anyone use it yet). What I do is: I stamp my image in (normal) black ink on a piece of paper (I use copy papier) and then I put it in my laserprinter copier and copy the image on cardstock. Now I have a toner image of my stamp, super easy!!!
I do that also 😀 (I thus avoid buying toner sheets like Gina K 's for instance). I just buy her stamps set, stamp and then make toner printer copies so get both. Other method is clear embossing then through minc machine. It works great!
HI Simon, I just came across this video now. Thanks for sharing you process with us! I tried the toner ink with clear stamps last month for the first time. I was fortunate enough to see Heidi's IGTV video with Tim Holtz from last May and he used an eye dropper of ink on a non-stick mat and applied the ink with a brayer. I didn't have a non-stick mat so I used some coated freezer paper instead. It was much easier to use and less waste and easier clean up. I also used my stamping tool to apply several layers of the ink and my foiling came out spectacular! Quick and light pressure works better. If I pressed to hard or too long it stuck and ripped the paper. It is definitely a learning curve, but it has so many possibilities! I am looking forward to more experimentation with it!
Ok, I just saw a comment of the same thoughts after I sent mine. The reason I said you can also take it to a printing place is I have run out of room for another printer in my office/craft room. I need to have a shed built for overflow already.
Hi Simon. I just wanted to thank you for this Utube! I had previously tried using Hedi Swapp Toner Ink with my stamps and it didn’t work. After watching your Utube, I tried again today with amazing success! Using my Misti stamping platform as you suggested it works perfectly. 🙂🙂🙂
This product is best with very fine stamps in my experience…great with fine sentiments etc ….. I did an experiment and re inked the pad , covered it tightly in press’n’seal wrap and then put the lid on …a week later it was still wet …not sure if it was only a fluke or it will always work … P.s. I used a fine paintbrush to fill in areas that didn’t stamp well .
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I am always very appreciative when I get to see mistakes you make and watch you make attempts to fix it. Thank you Simon 🧡💛💚💙💜
Thanks so much for doing this, Simon. I just picked up the toner, pad, refills and cleaner last weekend. It's nice you shared it all, so if I struggle a bit at first, like one should expect with a new product, I won't give up! I love how all yours turned out. I need to get some of that rainbow foil!!!
Thanks for sharing this! I absolutely love my Minc. I used it to make wedding invitations which turned out so great! I love the idea of being able to use my stamps though! I can't wait to get some of this and try it out!
Hi Simon, I just stumbled across this video and was glad I did. I saw another crafter demo this product and wasn't happy with the results so decided I wouldn't try this product. After watching your video, I am now interested in trying it. I have a number of rubber stamps that I think would work great with this. Thank you for taking your time and sharing with us.
Hey Simon....thanks for testing out the toner ink pad. I have to say that I saw a few Creativation videos using this product and at the time I thought to myself that considering the person demoing this product didn't get the best results, I knew that I would be waiting for all the issues to be worked out - or at least make the process for using it to be simplified and/or have more consistent results - before buying this or a similar product. To be honest, I would have waited to bring it to the retail market but hey, that's just me. The idea is there but I just don't feel the execution is. TFS Simon and stay safe & healthy!
Hi Simon, I had the same results. Several videos later I found that Tim Holtz coated distress stamping paper worked the best! Try it out. The ink doesn't lift the paper and stamped well. Also Marco's matte coated cardstock
You can also stamp with a Glue Essentials pad, let it go tacky, and then press your foil on it. You can even just use a piece of scrap foil and just press it down, again and again to use every bit of the foil.
Thank you for this tutorial! I love foiling and although I managed to stick my paper to toner ink pad... :D I love it! My learning point was not to press&hold stamp on the paper so looooong. Just stamp - and that´s it.
Natalie R the scrapbook store in Perth carries it and will post anywhere in Australia! Suzanne is awesome and if it’s out of stock, she will let you know when it is expected!
I have a cannon, Brother has one also, MF 272dw printer that uses toner to print. Now it’s in black and white but, who cares it works with the foil/Minc and works beautiful! Had no problems. I also used a stamped image and ran it through the cannon. Worked!
After seeing you experiment with this process and work out the kinks on screen so you could show us what did and did not work well I might be willing to give this a go.
I have an idea that maybe you could play around with to see if it works. This line uses toner so you can do designs and use a toner printer. If you stamp your image and scan it you could not only print it out but resize the image.
Hi Simon! Very intriguing product, especially since my printer does not use toner. I had a thought about the photopolymer stamps. You said you thought maybe they were too sticky & possibly causing it not to get very good coverage. What about using an antic static bag on the stamp before you put the toner on it? The anti static bag can be used on tape when you want to make it less sticky, maybe it would work on the stamps as well. Just a thought.
Thank you for the video! I had so many questions about the product when I first saw this. It's a cool product, but personally I'm going to skip. Don't like how wasteful it is and how it would be stain my stamps. But can't wait to see what you're going to make with it!
Simon, I feel like I was watching my own experience with this (minus a lot of cursing)! I have stamped for many years, and I was so pumped for this ink! I find it challenging to use.
I was so excited about seeing this being used, I wonder if using Rocker Blocks would work better with acrylic stamps rather than the regular stamping blocks do?
I just found this video, and the one in which you use the combo of versamark, heat-set embossing powder, and that topped with foil and through a laminator. The later seems to be the most reliable, even though the toner ink method might be fewer steps. As I have such a limited time to craft, I’m not inclined to putz with products to achieve a result. Maybe another sideline some stamp companies could get into is sentiments pre-printed on paper plus the dies to cut them out with? Some may have already come out with such a product, but since paper crafting stores are few and far between, I’m unaware of such things if they don’t show up on Y.T.!
I looked and looked to see if there was a way to use my stamps. I should have known you’d figure it out. Curious if using standard heat embossing and then foiling on top would work. Is the Minc machine hor enough to reheat the embossed image? On a 72 yo guy who loves to craft and you are the best teacher!
I enjoyed this video and how you showed it wasn't working on several types of paper you tried..that's real life! I personally, wouldn't but the toner pad as I think its to hit or miss with it, but I really liked your video.
Great video! So helpful! Building the ink up with the Misti is brilliant! Was wondering what type of paper did you have success with and didn't tear? Thanks much!
Completely off topic, but I love the marble-looking picture behind you, do you mind sharing where it’s from? Appreciated the step-by-step instructions.
Sticky embossing powder will do the same thing yall sorry but i see this not coming to my collection but the refill pads gives me ideas with other ink refills but still good video simon an home u r safe during this crazy time an everyone else
Simon, Thank you for your video on this. I especially loved the "I'm proud of you" card. It came out great with the background stamp! Here's a question, how often to the stamp pad refills need to be replaced? Is it just one use or can it be store for another use later in the week?
Hi there! So this is my first time coming across your page and I loved your review for the Heidi swapp stamp kit since I’m thinking about buying it! But I just had a quick question, you said there are certain card stock you recommend and some you don’t. So what’s the brand name of the last card stock your recommended?? I just got a laser printer and tried foiling for first and I was having a little bit of trouble getting the tools to adhere completely to the toner and now I’m wondering if it has to do with the cardstock I have or perhaps the laminator too lol not sure but it was a struggle 🤔
Omg Simon, I am so sold. Are you an affiliate? I would love to get it through you link. There's always a learning curve with new products. You already took some of the frustrating elements out for me. Can't wait to try it.
Do you have to foil right away or can you allow to dry on the cards before foiling? Also, How long were you able to use one ink application before it dried up and had to re-ink? Thank you
Thanks for a very informative video. It helps knowing the issues of 'stickier' ink, and the coverage are there, and how to correct them. I would love to foil more! I love the bright and shiney! This product does give us more personalized creativity!. Question: do you need to use the Heidi swap laminater?
You can definitely use a regular laminator too! Heidi sent over the Minc and I do have to say that the coverage of foil seems to be a bit more even. :)
10:15 isn't it better to wait for the first layer to dry before adding a second layer? That way it won't be sticky on sticky and less likely to lift off any toner from first layer.
Could just get a black only laser printer & stamp the image you want with reg black ink of any kind then run copies through the printer then foil. Or take to your office supply store where there's access to print on laser. I remember years ago they would only run the laser printers. I am going to call & find out cost & availability. I am not buying another foiling machine when I can make this work. I have the toner ink pad & ink that you demoed but was sad to here they dry out & they're sticky. Maybe smooth watercolor paper would work?
Not a big fan of Heidi Swapp toner ink pad. I can make perfect foiled stamps by stamping first with versa mark then coating the versa mark with clear embossing powder. Heat the powder to set just like you would when doing any powder embossing. Let it dry. Put the stamped embossed piece with the foil shiny pattern on top and place it inside a folder and run it through the Minc or other laminator. Sometimes it takes a bit of experimentation to get it right for the heat setting. I get gorgeous results every time. Thank you for demonstrating this product.
Hi friends! I hope you enjoyed today's video learning along with me...

What a great idea! What would you suggest for a good toner printer? Thank you so much, liz 😊💗👍🏼
i use this all the time, it works perfect! i actually bought 2 printers one with the scanner and one just printer to foil, it's awesome

Thank you for sharing. It is really helpful to watch someone realistically share new products so we can make informed purchasing decisions
This was THE most informative tutorial I’ve seen on these products. THANK YOU! I now have a real sense of how I would use them.
Very educational. I really enjoyed watching this video as it showed which methods work better than others.
This product is best with very fine stamps in my experience…great with fine sentiments etc ….. I did an experiment and re inked the pad , covered it tightly in press’n’seal wrap and then put the lid on …a week later it was still wet …not sure if it was only a fluke or it will always work …

Cool thanks for sharing this now I'm DEFINITELY buying the toner ink pad!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I am always very appreciative when I get to see mistakes you make and watch you make attempts to fix it. Thank you Simon 🧡💛💚💙💜

Yay! Have fun crafting with the toner ink... it’s a blast once you get the hang of it. :)
Thank you, Simon. This demo helped a lot!!!
Thank you Simon for the demo. I just love your cards and items.
Beautiful colorful design, Thank you so much for sharing
What a cool product! Thanks for the tutorial Simon!
Great video. It is helpful to see a product in real time and see how it really works.
I'm glad you did this demo as I was wondering about it.......thanks.............pat
Thanks for sharing this! I absolutely love my Minc. I used it to make wedding invitations which turned out so great! I love the idea of being able to use my stamps though! I can't wait to get some of this and try it out!

I had not seen this product before your demonstration & review. Thank you for sharing 😊
I really appreciate this video as you never really know how things work in real life.

Hi Simon, I had the same results. Several videos later I found that Tim Holtz coated distress stamping paper worked the best! Try it out. The ink doesn't lift the paper and stamped well. Also Marco's matte coated cardstock
That’s a great idea Nancy! :)
I bought the foil machine I did not use. Now after seeing your technique I will do it now. Thanks.
You can also stamp with a Glue Essentials pad, let it go tacky, and then press your foil on it. You can even just use a piece of scrap foil and just press it down, again and again to use every bit of the foil.
Or clear embossing powder (with heat tool) then through the minc machine. The idea of black ink is good but too messy for me
Thanks for showing how to use this product. It is something I will be looking to work with soon.
Thank you for making this video because I was scared to purchase this toner set. 😍
Thank you for the informative demo, Simon.
Finally a way to get toner to stamp and foil without a tone printer. So excited for this
Thanks for doing this, Simon. It’s super helpful!
I wondered about the Minc. Thanks for sharing your work 😊
Thank you for this tutorial! I love foiling and although I managed to stick my paper to toner ink pad... :D I love it! My learning point was not to press&hold stamp on the paper so looooong. Just stamp - and that´s it.
I wonder if stamping into versamark first would help with the toner ink sticking.....
So excited for this to become available in Australia
Natalie R the scrapbook store in Perth carries it and will post anywhere in Australia! Suzanne is awesome and if it’s out of stock, she will let you know when it is expected!
I love this idea. I need to place an order.
I have a cannon, Brother has one also, MF 272dw printer that uses toner to print. Now it’s in black and white but, who cares it works with the foil/Minc and works beautiful! Had no problems. I also used a stamped image and ran it through the cannon. Worked!

What a great product! Thank you, Simon, for all the great tips. When I buy it now, those will really help!
No problem! You’ll love it! :)
Wooo I really loved the result! 😍😍😍😍

You could maybe use the Toner Pen to touch up some of those blotchy spots on the stamped images.
It turned out great
Wow that’s nice , with the foil
Great video! Lots of examples and techniques - thank you!
Thanks Nancy! :)
Thank you for the video! I had so many questions about the product when I first saw this. It's a cool product, but personally I'm going to skip. Don't like how wasteful it is and how it would be stain my stamps. But can't wait to see what you're going to make with it!
I'm getting this! I have the machine and have wanted to be able to use my stamps! Et Voila!!! Heidi did it again!
Yay! :)
I did not know this product existed. Thank you!
Your cards turned out great. Thanks for the review.
Thanks! :)
Another exciting option to use your stamps.
Fab info! Thank you! Loved the 2 boring minutes later insert...
So cool! I'm still not sure if i should get the minc or a standard laminator
Simon, I feel like I was watching my own experience with this (minus a lot of cursing)! I have stamped for many years, and I was so pumped for this ink! I find it challenging to use.
AND using the minc makes a huge difference. You need something that can get SUPER hot.
I was so excited about seeing this being used, I wonder if using Rocker Blocks would work better with acrylic stamps rather than the regular stamping blocks do?
Good idea!!! :)
Simon Hurley I loved your results though, the background one was so pretty.
Can I use regular laminating sheets from the dollar store in my minc machine or will it full on laminate my foiling projects
Simon when you use the background stamp why don't you use a brayer when trying for an impression? Just wondering.
I just found this video, and the one in which you use the combo of versamark, heat-set embossing powder, and that topped with foil and through a laminator. Wow this is really cool !
I wonder if the fun foam pads could be used!
Beautiful foil cards darling
I enjoyed this video and how you showed it wasn't working on several types of paper you tried..that's real life! I personally, wouldn't but the toner pad as I think its to hit or miss with it, but I really liked your video.
Beautiful 🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨
I would love to start foiling, but I do have 1 question. I know the toner stains the photopolymer stamps, but does it harm them?
Thanks for the video.
Great video! So helpful! Building the ink up with the Misti is brilliant! Was wondering what type of paper did you have success with and didn't tear? Thanks much!
Does this work in a glimmer foil machine?
Completely off topic, but I love the marble-looking picture behind you, do you mind sharing where it’s from? Appreciated the step-by-step instructions.
I got it as a gift... I think it was made by a local artist. :)
Simon Hurley , it really is a beautiful piece and brings so much character to your space . Thanks for sharing.
Sticky embossing powder will do the same thing yall sorry but i see this not coming to my collection but the refill pads gives me ideas with other ink refills but still good video simon an home u r safe during this crazy time an everyone else
Great video. That toner ink could be tricky if you spill it. Kess exoebsuve than running down to the print shop to have images prinstes for foiling.
Loved this very real video
Thanks Sharon! :)
I wonder if one could use an embossing folder somehow?
Thanks Simon
I had never come across this toner ink pad thanks for the share Simon. Also is it hard to use the cleaned stamps after?
Hi, newbie ? Could you stamp to paper and then take it to a Staples and have them make a copy on cardstock to foil?
Did I miss which paper you recommended for this ink?
Simon, Thank you for your video on this. I especially loved the "I'm proud of you" card. It came out great with the background stamp! Here's a question, how often to the stamp pad refills need to be replaced? Is it just one use or can it be store for another use later in the week?
I am pretty sure it’s just one use... the toner ink hardens after about 3 hours or about 15 hours in the stamp pad casing. :)
So cool. Do you have to use a mink? I have another laminator
You can definitely use a laminator... Heidi sent over the Minc and I found I got more even results with it, but try out your laminator first! :)
Can u foil without that machine?
Hi there! So this is my first time coming across your page and I loved your review for the Heidi swapp stamp kit since I’m thinking about buying it! Hi Simon, i noticed you used the Minc machine setting at 5. I tried using “5” and the folder melted in the Minc machine. Any advice?
Omg Simon, I am so sold. Are you an affiliate? I would love to get it through you link. There's always a learning curve with new products. You already took some of the frustrating elements out for me. Can't wait to try it.
Yay Susan! Here is a link to my full supply list (affiliate links) ldli.co/e/z27xn7 thanks! :)
Simon what cardstock did you say you felt was the best for it?
Do you have to foil right away or can you allow to dry on the cards before foiling? Also, How long were you able to use one ink application before it dried up and had to re-ink? Thank you
Are the foam pads only a one day use then? I try to be environmentally friendly. That would be waste of plastic and tone ink?.
Very cool! TFS!
Can you re-ink a used ink pad? or does it set solid so cant be reused? would it washout? thank you for reading.
Good question, I believe the ink hardens in the pad and you can but the plastic replacement pads. :)
Love this thank you
If you used the misti or similar you could ink the stamp and stamp it again
10:15 isn't it better to wait for the first layer to dry before adding a second layer? That way it won't be sticky on sticky and less likely to lift off any toner from first layer.
Could just get a black only laser printer & stamp the image you want with reg black ink of any kind then run copies through the printer then foil. That is pretty cool
