This makes me think about what I would do with my records and equipment if I had to move. It was enjoyable to see this glimpse into your process. I hope that you and your family settle comfortably into your new home and that you can soon get the record room set up the way you want. I laughed at the Smokey and the Bandit joke!
Whew! I'm relieved, Record-ology, that your records, turntables, and other gear seem to have survived the journey to Florida. Plus, those shipping pods look amazing. They should make prefabricated homes or cottages out of those. :)
Well done 👍 If that were my collection I don't think I'd have any nails left to chew down by the time I got there! Looking forward to viewing a new era for Record-ology.
Over the past 10 years I have moved 4 times! Not the distance you've moved as I live in the UK. But still nerve wracking moving vinyl and HiFi gear! With my records, I used really strong big boxes and packed towels and bedding on top and around them in the boxes. Did the trick!
I plan on moving sometime next year. I have A LOT of vinyl and vintage audio equipment. This is going to take a lot painstaking effort on my part to ensure nothing is broken, LOL!
Can’t go wrong with the Really Useful Boxes for transporting and browsing through your vinyl, even though they’re kind of on the expensive side. Peace.
I've moved so many times in the last 30 years and I've used packing paper for I think 1 move and my stuff survived and 2 moves I just loaded my equipment in my truck and moved it my self actually 3 moves and the big one was from Minnesota to Missouri and back I used blankets and pillows and that worked really well. All of my equipment is 30 years old.
Luckily, the week that we were in transit the temperatures were in the 30s and 40s all the way down through Georgia. Even in Florida they were 50s and low 60s.
Good that all seems to have arrived safely - my thoughts throughout while you were packing was 'Typical, where's all the packing peanuts and Styrofoam when you need them?'
I'm sure the vinyl survived, but what about the shellac? After watching some of your videos I've been collecting Reader's Digest boxed sets, lol. I hope y'all like it there. Friend of mine lives down in Jacksonville and he seems to like it. I've visited and it took me years to get the sand out of everything so I never went back, lol. I think I'd duct tape the bottom seam of those boxes but looks like you did a pretty good job. I hope on your Glenburn that you screwed out the big phillips head transit screws on the plinth and ditto for any other changers you may have. I've always moved myself and rented either a U-Haul trailer or a Ryder box truck and made several trips so I wouldn't have anyone to blame but myself if anything broke. Then again, I've only ever moved maybe 300 miles as opposed to thousands. When you were in Chattanooga I hope you got to ride behind either Southern #630 or #4501 at the Tennessee Valley Railway Museum :)
Databases buddy honestly for me that was a little hard to watch because I have anxiety and I would be rectified move All-Americans like that I'm glad everything went well talk to you soon thanks
For me I let the MOVERS handle all of my goods. Was the best thing I EVER did!If anything got damaged or lost under their care-they replaced it.If you packed it-then its YOU!Fortunatly my moved were paid by the agency I work for.Hope you can get a paid move from your employer.
well i was hoping to see what happened to your things ,even though i did not pay for them your records and audio equipment were on my mind ,I think if it was me i would have found a way to put my equipment at least you favorite ones in the car with me ,the records to me were very well packed i think they survived ,the only nightmare i would see is rewiring all hook ups for your various equipment that is going to take a lot of patience and time at least you and your wife came through I one piece no problems ,looking forward to your next adventure JRo
That's my favorite part is wiring and hooking everything up, lol. I even ran 25' of RCA cable from my stereo to a DAC and an optical cable from the DAC to the tv instead of using the bluetooth on the receiver and the tv.
You are a smart guy. You know who runs this state. Why would you chose to move to this state? Knowing who is the governor and what he has in mind i don't understand this move. Good luck on your move.

The one thing every music and electronics collector dreads, moving! Glad to see that it seems your things arrived intact.
Well done 👍 If that were my collection I don't think I'd have any nails left to chew down by the time I got there! Looking forward to viewing a new era for Record-ology.
Moving is SO STRESSFUL. Glad to see that everything arrived safe and sound.

U-Haul small boxes are the perfect size for vinyl.
Dang - just realized this!
Welcome to your new home.

Thanks for sharing. Did you take any steps to prevent heat from warping your records, or was that not a concern?

Exactly!!!
I'll have to remember Bankers Boxes if I ever move. That or just get a Ray's Recycling roll-off dumpster and just be done with it all😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

don't understand this move. Good luck on your move.
But, Florida’s got one fairly big plus over Colorado: no major league snowstorms!
On the move with your vinyls.
vinyl are not that fragile lol
That’s probably debatable to some people.
Congrats on a successful move
