Because they dig really deep and extract oil but they flush in a lot of water and the water can carry a lot of sludge and radio active particles. Imagine diggong very deep , you will go into radioactive substances as you are digging into rocks , same as talcum is on the same rock as asbestos.
Fracking is done on shale which contains high levels of radio active radon and radon gas. It's in all the drill cuttings from drilling the well. That's besides the toxic chemicals and known carcinogens injected into the rock to help release the methane and other gasses. I worked for years on campaigns to ban fracking in our city of Buffalo, then our county of Erie, and ultimately a ban on fracking for our state of New York. Then I moved to Pennsylvania, frack central! We were surrounded by fracking and all the toxicity that comes with it. My gf worked for the PA-DEP in the "clean water department". We really tried hard to get a ban on fracking in Pennsylvania but many of the locals are far too brainwashed by gas and oil propaganda and truly believe that it's a good thing, even though their drinking water is sometimes flammable.
I grew up in the area. My wife lived in Wheeling, and I lived between Moundsville and Wheeling. None of this is surprising. All the chemical plant runoff down in New Martinsville, coal plants in Dillie’s Bottom, facilities in Natrium, and others just blew my mind. I used to know I was getting close to Wheeling by the smell. You could smell the acrid in the air.
This is so unbelievable. Why is it “overburdening” a company to have solid cleanup procedures and regulations in place BEFORE it begins operations and then all the way through to when it ends its operations?? Can anyone answer this? A company allowed to create toxic waste with no real plan to contain it safely ..
They can have a "plan," they can have (lobbied for) regulations, but standard practice is for a mining company to operate as a shell that goes bankrupt when everything that can be extracted has been and before vital cleanup is dealt with. Legislative bodies need teeth against weaseling practices, or there needs to be an environmental tax on production in industries with this kind of issue to fund government cleanup efforts, because more often than not companies do not contend with their waste. There's article "Millions of Leaky and Abandoned Oil and Gas Wells Are Threatening Lives and the Climate." I saw a vid on the challenge of capping abandoned natural gas mines, can't find it now.
Oh they are recycling it all right think about that for a minute get a Geiger counter. I tested a supplement and it flat lined a $600.00 geiger counter.
they want quick profit that is all. private equity gives people like this a lot of money and buying power to grab land or chunks of industries to bleed them dry and move on. also for the last handful of presidents they have all been hands off when it comes to regulating. there has not been a push to get more people into college so that we have people to fill these jobs. add to that poor towns that are in desperate need for jobs and a political system where we are spending more time of voting season that actual work leads to this. these are the questions and issues to talk to our political candidates about. not lame stuff like traditional family anti lgbt stuff. we need to tax the rich more so we can pay people to hold companies accountable. but its also up to local governments to be more open about what is happening in their town and for us to ask these questions otherwise nothing will be done.

Yeah if the company is suddenly "bankrupt" when they have to clean up their mess, maybe the CEO and board should be held personally liable or forced to clean it up themselves. If these suits had to work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week until the mess was cleaned up, other companies would think twice about doing this type of thing.
It's basically the point of "corporate personhood", to create a legal scapegoat for the execs to hide behind. Dissolving the company to just loot it and run should also dissolve any sort of legal protection from accountability.
Great video! You should investigate Nordic Waste in Denmark. They had a literal mountain of contaminated soil, which they got paid to process but never did. I had no idea fracking produced radioactive material. The mainstream media doesn’t tell us much about fracking; purposely I’ll bet.
Because they dig really deep and extract oil but they flush in a lot of water and the water can carry a lot of sludge and radio active particles. Imagine diggong very deep , you will go into radioactive substances as you are digging into rocks , same as talcum is on the same rock as asbestos.
Fracking (and coal) creates more radioactive waste a month than all US Nuclear power plants created since inception (1.5 football fields)
Well if they told you, your leader Trump would claim fake news and you would believe him. LOL
Kansas never had earthquakes until Oklahoma started fracking. Fracking is just bad.
There's article "Millions of Leaky and Abandoned Oil and Gas Wells Are Threatening Lives and the Climate." I saw a vid on the challenge of capping abandoned natural gas mines, can't find it now.

they want quick profit that is all. private equity gives people like this a lot of money and buying power to grab land or chunks of industries to bleed them dry and move on. also for the last handful of presidents they have all been hands off when it comes to regulating. there has not been a push to get more people into college so that we have people to fill these jobs. add to that poor towns that are in desperate need for jobs and a political system where we are spending more time of voting season that actual work leads to this. these are the questions and issues to talk to our political candidates about. not lame stuff like traditional family anti lgbt stuff. we need to tax the rich more so we can pay people to hold companies accountable. but its also up to local governments to be more open about what is happening in their town and for us to ask these questions otherwise nothing will be done.

remember - the alternative is a fascist who has said that he would use the US military on those in the population who dont agree with him and that if he wins this election that people wont have to vote again

It's about the money
capitalism is death
They should make the regulators and the owners/board live across the street until it is cleaned up.....bet they find the money real fast.

If you think that the "D" crew isn't capitalist, unethical, or ABOVE the law, you have not paid attention. Ever hear of Uranium1? Good ole Hillary and Barry...and that assortment of criminals tops this story by a magnitude of 10.
Democrats are even worse
Capitalism, however you feel about it, is the single greatest economic system in human history massively contributing to increased prosperity.
You’re onto something with your third point.
Stop blaming the other side. The federal government is corrupted from the inside out, barring a few seemingly decent people.
Freedom is dangerous. Deal with it.
@@JETHO321 um... what?
@@Andre-qo5ek You are lost. Dems create most of the problems and I don’t see many republicans solving them either.

Maybe some reason for the algo.
Yet we cheer the folks that want to get rid of regulations! who needs safety, clean air and water??? Why don't we stop voting for the people that are approving this type of sh*t and hold those who have, accountable.
We have the drill baby drill president I guess we will see what happens next. Stay on your toes small communities!
