Roy, we respect you for stepping up to this challenge. Nobody expects you to be Paul; you have your own nuggets of wisdom to offer. embrace it and run with it. The stage is set.
Seconded!
I concur. Just be you Roy. Thank you.
Youre a good brother
Much much respect
He's doing very well. 👍
My thoughts exactly! Well said sir.
I'm sure Paul is proud of you for carrying on the channel in true Harrell fashion. Rain or shine, the Harrell family shows up!
There's an old Army saying that I'm sure Paul knows well...'If it ain't rainin', we ain't trainin'. So many M16 qualification ranges I spent in the rain. Or snow. Still qualified expert, though. Iron sights, a pack of Swisher Sweets in one of my ammo pouches and my trusty Zippo. Good times. C Co., 103rd MI BN, 'Top of the Rock'.
Thank you
Roy, you’re getting a lot more confident in front of the camera. Keep it up brother, I’m sure Paul is proud of you
I was thinking this as I watched too. Roy's slipping into the role very well. Big shoes to fill, but I'm glad he's stepped up to the challenge!
I could see that too. Good job on Roy starting to really find his groove.
I'm starting to like him
There was a much loved programme in the uk called top gear. One of the greatest TV shows ever.
It was awfull for 10 years🫣😆😆
@@richardgallagher4880 I've never been a car guy but I thought the hosts were kind of funny in that dry, condescending British way 🤣
We love you Paul and Roy!
I would like to see Roy redo some of Paul's old videos such as "If I Could Only Own One Firearm" or "Paul's Top Five Guns for Home Defense" with Roy's take on the matter, even if the firearms he picks are the same. This could give us some insight into Roy's thoughts and opinions that could help contextualize future videos
Great idea. I'm sure Roy will do well but honestly with Paul's remaining time, I would rather just have him put out videos of him chatting about life in his own words as he sees fit. Of course only if he's able. He's an American treasure and not just because of action videos. His wisdom would be welcome in any condition. Thank you for all your efforts Mr Harrell.
YES! This is a GREAT idea!
It would be interesting. I agree.
I agree with this
Good idea
We all miss Paul, but you don´t have to be Paul, just be you and enjoy making the show, as we enjoy wathching it. Job well done.
Roy, you couldn’t be a better steward. Loving the videos.
I stand corrected… I was one of the people who thought there may be a concern. I love being shown I am wrong versus just being told I am wrong. Thank you!
The only point I might make is that the 40 doesn't chamber where it should, so the case isn't locking in with the barrel. it's behind it. I would expect more wear and tear in that area. Glocks can take a TON of abuse and still come back for more.
@@JSmith-ou3sk You are correct, and I've known a few people who would train with 40S&W in their 10mm Glocks, and noted that it would cause the extractor to break more often than using 10mm alone. However, the cost savings of shooting .40 outweighed the replacement cost of extractors.
@@Cascadian_Ranger100% ! You’re indexing or headspacing off the extractor and not the case rim.
@@TooManyChoices1Case mouth
Well, there *is* a concern, and that's why it was worth it to test it!
I understand the exclusivity of the event and making it special for those who attend, however… for those of us who simply can’t, I hope it will be filmed and released sometime in the future 🤞
Even if it’s a different platform than UA-cam, it would be a great surprise at some point to see more of Paul!!
A great idea! Please include YT if someone decides to film & share.
Not being able to support Paul if you live outside the USA is not right.
Please make the shirt available world wide. We are happy to pay the full shipping prices
I had the same problem. Tristar wouldn't ship to Canada, even after I contacted them directly. There are websites that allow you to ship to a US address, and then they will forward your package to you.
@@DavidLepage as a person living in the usa I have friends in Canada and Australia it's difficult to ship thru some handlers but I do know the usa has free shipping to Canada and Australia u just gotta find the right handlers forward DHL is one
The people that make the products are probably the ones to blame. Theyre most likely not setup to ship outside the US besides Canada aka the great white north, aka our retarded cousins
I am also itching for shipping to europe
@@snoowbrigade And me.
Best part of the day is seeing a new Paul Harrell video. Roy, you're doing a stand-up job...keep it up, sir.
Huge improvement in quality, videography and presentation. You’re doing really great Roy and we’re all excited to see more from you. Still praying for you, Paul and the rest of the family. God bless
You can tell he had to do this for his brother. He is definitely not used to the limelight of 1 million subs. However, he gets a little better at that every time you have seen him, which shows that he cares. Godspeed sir.
He also got better just in this video with his aim with that gun. I think he's gonna be good.
Nice follow-up video. Its great to hear Paul is feeling well enough to do a symposium. I wish you, Paul, and your families the best.
Roy on the job, having Paul's back!
And sure fouling could happen (enter the "What If Brigade"), but you'd have to shoot a lot of low-grade dirty ammo to do it to the average gun.
Love that you took the time to set a concern straight. Just as Paul would have done.
Doing a great job so far, Roy! Looking forward to seeing you settle in and inject some more of your own personality and anecdotes into the presentations.
Not surprising that I'm not surprised to find you a fellow fan. I'm optimistic about keeping .40 and Paul around for a long time. I'm picking up lots of Paul brass along with .40. :D
Keep up the good work all of ya's.
My good wishes are ordered in a speedy recovery for Paul, new material for Misters Zahler and Harris and a legal miracle for Mrs. Lake.
GFS
Holy crap forgot you're in the land of ruts! You back for good? Hope you weren't hit too hard by the flood. I have family near Mt Holly, Brattleboro, St. J. and Montpee; and a brother right across the Masshole border.
In L.A., but planning a cross-country trip and would love to buy you a cuppa coffee at the old bank if it's still there.
Cheers!
Thanks Roy and crew!
Roy - I want to hear you talk about Cop stuff. Some examples:
1. What handguns do a lot of cops like to use, and why?
2. What handguns (and other guns) do criminals like to use, and why?
3. What handgun drills to cops favor, and why?
Paul has an extensive military background and has given us his views on firearms from his perspective based on his life experience. Now I want to hear YOURS, based on your 35 years as a cop.
Ooh that's great! With evolution! Start number 1 with old colts of the wild west (assuming 45lc blackpowder but I trust Harrell research way more than my assumptions), work your way around.38 special and 45ACP with insight on why so many police stayed with the revolver for so long, then onto 9mm, 40 s&w, 357 sig, etc.
I'd be interested in splitting this from 3 to 6, maybe even 12. Evolution of police handguns, criminal handguns, and police handgun drills. Then 3 more detailed videos on present day handguns. Then 6 more videos on long guns. After that series you'll do a couple part 2's for the well actually crowd.
That would be something very interesting.
Super idea.
Another unique source of perspective and training for this channel. I can't wait...already!!
Yo Roy, I noticed you’re left handed. I am wrong handed as well. Can you do a video sharing some tips on how to adapt one’s shooting techniques on primarily non-ambidextrous firearms? You da man.
Outstanding request!!!
No. They are the wrong handed. We, the blessed few that will take over the world when the time comes, are the Correct Handed People© 👍😁
My daughter is left handed, also, so it sometimes is a bit difficult with her. From the time I was little, my Dad tried to get me to shoot both hands. Pistols I do ok with, but I still can't get the long gun left-handed. And that is where things are an issue with her, too. Roy could help a lot of people with that.
@@GB-zi6qrI’m left handed as well.i also own a Glock G20 10mm
Paul I pray you’re doing better Amen 🙏. Roy is doing great hosting now
LOL the center of the target was just missing. Roy destroyed it 😂
"Now let's paste up these holes......." lol
I was think well now it's two vids in 1. The "how bad a day are you having if you get hit with 100 rounds of 40 S&W video?"
Gotta say, I'm having a hard time clicking on the notification and not seeing Paul. Never would have imagined losing Paul would be like losing a family member.
we havent lost him yet... but I do dread the day that news comes. I wish I could attend one of his symposiums. Like you, I do miss seeing Paul on the video's as well... But so long as Roy does his best to deliver valuable insights with the same tact and grace that Paul has delivered it with these years, I will continue to watch. Well done on the video Roy, you will get more accustomed to this as time goes on. Thank you for continuing the legacy.
He is still alive you big Debbie downer!
Same here man
Same. It's affected me a lot more than I thought it would.
Find myself thinking about it
We all are going to have to deal with losing UA-camrs in the coming months and years. It’s gonna be weird.
Roy I'm so very glad you are stepping up for your Beloved Brother Paul. I was not ready for the end screen credits to roll and the music hit, as I've watched on literally every video Paul and Team has produced over the years, with it now stating "Written and Directed By Roy Harrell Jr. With The Crew". Seeing that new end screen credits slide honestly brought a tear to my eye, Fuck Cancer is all.
Going to wear my Paul Harrell Legends Live Forever shirt at the range tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who gave us fans an opportunity to show our appreciation for the enthusiasm, skill, wit and real life experience Paul drew from for so many of his hundreds of excellent videos. Paul's videos helped me become a more thoughtful and disciplined shooter with the Beretta 92FS, which was my first firearm purchase. Legends Live Forever! Thank you for everything!
Welp, I haven't watched in about 8 months. Totally blown away. Heartbroken for your whole family. You're doing great, Roy.
Keep the new content coming and I'll keep Paul in my thoughts!
You are doing good Roy. Relax and make this channel your own. We still pray Paul will come back strong.. Thx
Such a relevant topic. Classic, Roy shoots out in the pouring rain like Paul does! *Sting song, “king of pain” plays in the background*. I must leave my heartfelt message to Paul, Paul is one of the most loved youtubers I have ever had the pleasure of subscribing to. I can never click on the new videos fast enough. Mostly because behind the lessons and the humor lies a genuine friend.
Love you Paul.
Hi guys, I'm also a Harrell, but the opposite corner of the country. Maybe somewhere back there, we're cousins. I'd like to think so.
I can't tell you how delighted I was to find this channel a few months ago. You guys both do the family name proud. Keep up the great work, and keep the faith!
Thank you, Roy, for continuing the videos for your brother Paul. I'm sure it's not easy to be thrown in front of a camera with such a large audience when you're not used to it, but we do appreciate it and I'm sure you will become more comfortable and confident with it in time. We miss Paul and hope he is comfortable and is able to heal. Our prayers are with him.
Great to see Roy’s growth. He is getting much more comfortable on camera
UA-cam has been Blessed to have the Harrell family doing videos. We have learned so much from you.
Roy is definitely a lot more relaxed in front of the camera than the first time around.
These are the only vids that I let the ads play out.
@TYRANNY_BETTER_THAN_ALL_FANDOMwat
(nevermind, pauls monetization was restored shortly after as revealed by a pinned comment i missed)
pauls channel was demonetized by youtube years ago, and youtube decided to force put ads on his videos so that they can make money; as they have done for many other demonetized channels (especially gun channels)
watching them entirely, unfortunately, doesnt give paul a cent
@@retrowave762 thank you for telling me that. I should have known.
@@retrowave762I thought he said later he got remonetized
@@henrybierman8431 oh wait yeah youre right, didnt see the pinned comment under the demonetization update
Roy I'm really digging you brother!! You've got good information to share with us, please don't give it up. There's a reason Paul passed it to you it isn't that the shoes were too big to fill it's that he knew who could fill them. God bless y'all!
Prayers for a speedy and complete recovery for Paul, and thanks to Roy and the crew for a great presentation. Y'All are doing a great job. I received my shirt today. I hope it helps y'all.
There comes a time when we all go, nothing is more natural than death. We can thank God for the time we had with Paul and that his will be done with the time he as left. As I understand Paul is terminal, there is no hope for recovery(I hope I am wrong though).
I recently went though this with a loved one. Some people didn't get it, there comes a point where praying for healing/recovery isn't appropriate anymore. No point to try keep them alive at all costs so they suffer longer.
Unsolicited advice for when your loved one is dying at home:
If your loved one is dying at home, make sure you are well stocked with morphine and pain meds their doctor can prescribe, well in advance to them needing it. If you can get a carer/nurse, get the arrangements ready asap as things can go downhill quickly. Anticipatory grief is an extremely dark time, but try to focus/find the silver linings; last meal if you still can, talk about special memories you had, with them, whatever special thing you still can, do it with them. Hold their hand, keep them comfortable. Pace yourself(get sleep), days can feel like weeks, but there are 'imminent signs of death' to give a clue. Sometimes they won't go until they are alone. So also give them a chance for that.
For the not so immediate/estranged family, look up the 'circle of grief' and make sure you don't vent anything to the inner circle. That also includes unsolicited advice, don't be an vampire, don't be a burden. Instead offer real world support where possible. If you don't know what that is, ask a hospice nurse/carer for advice. Unfortunately anticipatory grief doesn't negate the grief after your loved one has passed. Sorry for your loss.
I came to the comments to see how many people were crying about 100 rounds of .40 not being enough for the test.
Instead all I saw was kind supportive words for Paul and Roy. Being used to almost nothing but negativity online these days, you people gave me hope for the future today. I doubt any of you will even see this, but this behavior isnt as normal as it should be. Thank God some people are still capable of showing eachother love and compassion like you all did here.
Thank you.
Nice job Roy, I enjoyed the extra energy in your presentation today, I can really see you improving. Keep up the great work.
My shirt is otw!❤
Mine too.
Me too! Ordered it in the afternoon on the day it was released. It's great they have such a backlog of orders!
Definitely need a "Range Jacket". Not only functional, but looks cool. 🤘😎
I’ve been doing this for years, and never once had a single problem. I will say however, I do clean my firearms immediately after every range session. Maybe that is the reason. But contrary to (likely) the fears of people selling/profiting off of aftermarket barrels, I can attest to saying with confidence, this poses no issues at all.
That said, here in California we are rooting for you Paul! You’ve got support from all over the world. You’ve got this!!
Been shooting 40 out of my 10mm also with no problems. Glad to see someone actually do a real test!
wish i had a brother like Roy. i can tell i will enjoy watching him too. Paul is a blessed man.
Roy is a blessed man too.
Thanks Roy. Love that you are continuing on with the videos. Wearing my Paul Harrell T shirt right now. Blessing to you and Paul and your loved ones.
Thank you Roy, So happy to have you maintaining Paul's legacy, looking forward to seeing you more in the future.
*Woah, woah, WOAH!* Where's the _long_ version where we *do* get to sit through all of that?!?
**
Alright, addressing issues immediately! Roy, I gotta tell you, I kind of like the kinder, gentler firearms instruction. I'm not comparing you to your brother, I'm comparing you to other guntubers. The episode of you instructing the younger crew member on shooting skills was something a lot of viewers could put to use. Keep up the good work!
Roy is wearing some mighty big shoes, but the Harrell-feet are undeterred!
I’ve never commented on this channel before, and this is well and late and might very well not be read, but I’m truly grateful for Paul’s excellent library of information, demos and desiccated wit. Legends never die.
I didn't read this comment

Definite improvement in the presentation. Well done, Roy.
I agree! You can definitely tell that Roy is starting to get more comfortable on camera. He couldn't have a better example to follow. I'm looking forward to many more great presentations.

Great presentation Roy!
Roy, we are so fortunate to have you to carry on the channel and Paul’s legacy. I like many others look forward to you sharing your wisdom with us for many years to come!
Thanks Roy! We appreciate you!
Its great how you can see the group change with the ammo its immidatly more centered, now people will say how can you claim that, id say look where the paper moves.
Although I definitely agree you can see a shift in impact.. but I feel like one of the points being made here is that if you're on the receiving end you're likely not going to notice the more centered shot considering all those shots from the 40 were definitely hitting where they needed.. now I'm sure if you increase the distance the spread will open up and the more centered shots from the 10mm might start to matter a little more..
I was shooting 40mm out of my 10mm this weekend, and it was doing fine. Just hitting low comparatively. Great videos. Keep it up!
Someone’s going to complain and say 100 rounds of .40 isn’t enough. You need to shoot 500 to foul up the chamber.
Then when you post a video of a 500 round test someone will complain and ask why you didn’t do 1,000?!
Great video series by the way. It’s really cool knowing about this one way compatibility!
A friend of mine, he and I were talking about this very thing a while back. All we gotta do is ask a Harrell brother...these guys KNOW stuff. Thank you Roy and crew for another great video. And as always, love and prayers to Paul and family.
We love ya forever Paul Harrell. You’re a Legend! ❤
And you’re doin great Roy!
you did a much better job not using absolutes today. Your using a small sample size so you added both glock as a brand and mentioned that your only using 1 glock in your testing. Great job Roy

I used to hear that about shooting 22 short out of a 22 LR. Close-up view of the chamber after the hundred rounds of 40 short&weak may (or may not) have been interesting. Either way, thanks for the demo; I'll stick to shooting The Best Millimeter ammunition, but it's nice to know there are other options in a bizarre emergency.
Great presentation Roy. And some darn good shootin' too. Keep 'em comin' bro, we'll keep watchin'.
