When I was a kid we had a library next to a creek that had so much garbage in it. Our Boy Scout troop cleaned it out on a Saturday and they started a committee on clean water ways and eventually it stopped the garbage. I wish more people would have had that experience and not dump anything in the water! Great job on another culvert. Have a great weekend and stay safe!

Everything has to do with how we are raised. My opinion. Thanks for sharing the Boy Scouts experience.

I worked road maintenance for 38 years. I would be embarrassed as hell if videos of a VOLENTEER cleaning my drainage were circulated on the web.

Sadly, the majority that I check are typically in need of clearing.

That looks like a place where people just bring their junk and dump it there for someone else to have to clean up and those culverts are a good example of how they dispose of the junk/ trash that they have no use for

I like your clearing videos the most. I have watched others, and you just have a soothing sense voice and seem so concerned with the river and the areas. I watched your grave site tour, very interesting. And as someone who is very hard of hearing, thanks for no music. Many UA-camrs add music and it is always so loud, I can not hear the spoken words. Thanks for all you are doing.

Goodness what a mess. Glad you were able to pick it up enough to look better and work. Is it just coincidental that you come across somethings you want to video or does someone else find them for you?.

Great video, nice try moving those big heavy culverts! I can't believe that entire hillside gave way and both culverts fell down! There was a lot of lumber too, maybe part of an attempt to stop the hill from sliding down? Anyways, thank you SO MUCH for being awesome and picking up the trash in the water. I'd honestly love to see a whole video of you going around and picking up all that garbage in that area! haha. Maybe you can report it to the local government and they or the gas station will clean it up? It's crazy to me that people in New England literally just don't give a crap and throw all kinds of trash and refuse into the woods. We appreciate you for the work you do, so thank you. God bless you and keep up the good work!

no way you can do that. City needs to remove them. and the trees that fell. Hudson is another ghetto city of ny. It use to been a great little city. I have family that lives there still. Your winter is coming soon, glad that your opening those drains more. Another fine job. Stay safe and warm..

those fallen trees on the sides of the creek looks suspiciously intentionally cut down.
also that creek needs some serious dredging by the DoT.
You did an excellent job despite the enormity of the problem. 👍👍👍💪💪

Could you not roll the large pipe down to the water level and put it against the bank to form a more solid bank and force the water flow to the right side and into the culvert? I'm wondering if the water will try to erode under it and into the bank to the left side.
Slide the small one inside the large one, put the rock in front. I was thinking that if the left bank is more unstable it could have some help and push the water to the right side and let it hit the concrete wall.
    Fun to watch though.

That was a great cleanup! I really wonder what happened to make that whole bank collapse? Those 2 pipes alone are pretty valuable and in great shape, considering their placement.

    • @Grab_your_Waders
      @Grab_your_Waders  Рік тому +2

If you look at the left side of the culvert the entire wing wall fell face down into the stream. I was wondering if maybe those 2 culverts used to sit over the top of the wall but the heights don't work out, so I don't know lol. The other probable cause is those 2 pipes were shoddily installed and left floating in the air and at some point fell allowing the water to dump into the hillside and erode it away.

this looks more like a dumping ground. and by the looks of the surroundings more tree stumps will come to the culvert later.

Where you are working, can you burn the wood that your stacking? Or does the city remove? Wonder who tossed their vacuum . What a bad thing to do. Should have put in their garbage. You do good work.
