Went to Istanbul in April and it was one of the best cities I have ever visited and 💯 recommended I even sat in the same seat as you in that restaurant in Uskudar with a coffee and cake waiting for my ferry.
Cheers Scott, and many thanks for entertaining us for one more years, also thanks for guiding me to Steve's channel. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
That's a great way to spend your day travelling, Scott. You're an absolute legend, mate! I wish you, Blair and the whole of your family a very Merry Christmas. Have a great festive period!
I love the ferry trips and the views from the river. What a unique idea and being able to see everything without fighting crowds of people, my idea of a great day.
I love Istanbul - and this video shows part of the reason why! The transportation system is unbelievable and the ferries give you great views. And the food is excellent by and large.
Excellent again Scott... But mate you missed a trick.. 1984 and in 1992 I got the boat that goes to the last port near the Black sea and it was brilliant... You could get on and off at smaller places along the way and there were guys on the boat selling massive measures of vodka with fresh orange juice .. At the final port of call I was sozzled but it was just lovely there and you could buy deep fried mussels in batter on a skewer for pennies. Happy daze...
Merry Christmas 🎄 Happy 😃 new year 🎉 Loved your Aussie adventures with yr son Your videos are great 👍 I used to be scared when overseas getting lost but after watching your videos I know now to keep on going !!!! Thanks again Cheers 🥂 Australia 🇦🇺 🦘🦘🦘👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Many thanks Scot, that certainly brought back memories of my trip to Istanbul in the late 80's, I too got the wrong ferry and ended up in the princes islands..! Well worth it though.
This was a really nice video of your ferry boat ride in Istanbul with nice scenic views from the ferry of the cities in Turkey take care and have a Merry Christmas Scott.🇬🇧🎄☕🎀🇹🇷
PTE yay one of my favourites again just what I needed for my after lunch viewing slot.Sommet different being on water did enjoy Scott.I also like see'n you eating at restaurants so don't change owt.Watching from the UK thanks Scott

Thanks for all your fantastic vlogs Scott, I look forward to watching more of them in 2025 😊. Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2025 🎉❤
When I visited Istanbul a few months ago a guide advised me that Haydarpaşa station was likely to be turned into accommodation. I think it’s been closed since 2010.
Amazing video it answered some questions I had about the ferries. I am sure they used to run a lot more frequently. No trip to Istanbul is complete without taking a ferry across the Bosphorus. Sad to see the big old ferries are no longer in service.
Well look at that, I ate at that very same restaurant in Üsküdar when I was there in June 2023! I think I may have even sat at the same table. I remember I had a Turkish style chicken curry. Huge portions, and delicious food!
Noticed the fishermen when I was in Istanbul but they had hopeful cats sitting near them. Thought the ferries looked a bit like long versions of the Maid boats on the Firth of Clyde in the 50s/60s.
Hoi, Scott, pretty interesting. Sorry with Haydarpasa station, definitely something special. Good idea to spent the time this way, well done. Been on the ferry both direction´s, once. For sure, nothing special for the local´s, recognized some surprised look´s while taking photo´s. Greetings, Markus
Cheers, Scott!! The Turkish music you played on the first ferry was so good!! Typically, it was modal and in a minor key, which is very much to my liking!! Your meal looked great!! Turkish food is wonderful!! What could possibly go wrong, as you grimace, Scott!! 🤣🤣🤣 I really like mackerel, it's generally low in mercury and I enjoy the firm texture!! Chuck in Northern New England
Oh I'd love to do that. A fantastic network of ferries. And a fantastic place for ship spotting. You'll see some things there you won't see anywhere else in Europe
You certainly get about ! Brilliant, another excellent video, far better than anything the main stream media can come up with. You go to Istanbul so we don't have to ! I am enjoying your book as well. Well done.
Only take Turkish credit cards? Interesting. I ran into similar situation in Holland the other day. I tried to pay by card in some small shops, every one refused my MasterCard and asked for a Visa or Maestro.
Fab bit of boat riding. Is there a Scottish equivalent? Oban is probably the port with the most CalMac sailings so how many routes might you do in a day? I reckon 4: Mull, Colonsay and Lismore with if you are lucky, a short walk to get the tiny ferry to Kerrera. At worst you might get a Mac and Cheese on the trip to Mull!
Have you ever thought of investing in a Global Money credit card, some UK banks offer theses plus the Post Office also a travel money card, which you can top up in the UK with the currency and use in x country or withdraw with zero fees in the host country.
Was last in Istanbul 60 years ago but much seems how I remember it. Ferries were more numerous then. Arrived by direct train from Paris. Not possible now. Western side had trolleybuses and the Eastern side had trams. Haydapasha station was accessible then, and operational. Thank you for bringing back memories. Absolutely loved the place, but don’t think my wife would!
Great video again 👍.
I bet the Grimaldi Line container ship brought Steve out in a cold sweat 😅!
Scott soon 100 000 subs ! You deserve it Scott, you’re a legend 😊happy Christmas from Sweden 🇸🇪 Gothenburg 🎅 the capital of Sweden 😅

Taking a ferry in istanbul is great👌 really nice views there
Amazing video it answered some questions I had about the ferries. I am sure they used to run a lot more frequently.

Scott, keep up the good work on the 100k subs goal line. Merry XMAS to you and fam. Keep the travels coming in 2025.
Excellent video. Good to see all the ferries and other river traffic.
Noticed the fishermen when I was in Istanbul but they had hopeful cats sitting near them. Thought the ferries looked a bit like long versions of the Maid boats on the Firth of Clyde in the 50s/60s.
Some of them were built on the Clyde (I don't know if any of those are still running, though, but they follow the same design)
Have a great Xmas Scott with your boy Blair &you're nice wee wife ❤😊
Hoi, Scott, pretty interesting. Sorry with Haydarpasa station, definitely something special. Good idea to spent the time this way, well done. Been on the ferry both direction´s, once. For sure, nothing special for the local´s, recognized some surprised look´s while taking photo´s. Greetings, Markus
In Istanbul, you must always eat the Midye Dolmasi (Stuffed Mussels) when you see them.... Absolutely detectible. Merry Christmas!
Interesting video.
As Steeve Marsh is a big fan of boats he certainly would have joined you and I bet he's a bit envious when he sees your video.
Thanks Scott merry Christmas 🎅
What an amazing city it is
Yes Today is so Complicated....Thanks Enjoyed
Pinch a bit of that weather for us Scott 🙏
Nice video.
A map would have been useful so that we could keep track of your movements.
Cheers, Scott!! The Turkish music you played on the first ferry was so good!! Typically, it was modal and in a minor key, which is very much to my liking!!

Good one. Good views from the water.
A nice trip in the second part of December. Some places in the north are freezing this time of year. ❄❄❄❄🌨❄❄❄ Like -5C and bellow.
Great Video Scott
- Byzantine settlement under the trackbed -
Viewers from Rome and London laugh hollowly
(I'm in Oxford and this happens every time a hole is dug)
Great video I love your videos
Love istanbul.been many times but it can be very crazy
It is the same Venice, use the waterbuses to get around not the speedboat taxis or gondalas. Go to Piazalle Roma and you can go more or less anywhere.
I was in Uskudar about year ago, you could have gone to Camlica mosque.
Season's Greetings, Scott. Thank you for the UA-cam video. Alister Ian Hoult, Carrying Place, Ontario, Canada.
You certainly get about ! Brilliant, another excellent video, far better than anything the main stream media can come up with. You go to Istanbul so we don't have to ! I am enjoying your book as well. Well done.
Aren't they doing a through tunnel for all services across the strait? The existing one(s) are just "Metro" right?
9.07.
The Scream ?
that was really fun
Only take Turkish credit cards? Interesting. I ran into similar situation in Holland the other day. I tried to pay by card in some small shops, every one refused my MasterCard and asked for a Visa or Maestro.
Did you have language problems away from the centre ?
Fab bit of boat riding. Is there a Scottish equivalent? Oban is probably the port with the most CalMac sailings so how many routes might you do in a day? 👍
When you gonna go back to Romania? I'd love to see you travel on the trains and buses around Brasov, sighisoara, cluj and sibiu.
Any tips on how to order food when you don't speak the local language?
Nice

Scott what's your thoughts on package holidays ?

13:05 Was it a Cheesecake Factory, a strong indicator of American Urbansim or lackthereof?
Do a video of the buses in Dundee and maybe explore Dundee City Centre 🚎🏙️
massive market at kadikoy
Those fish were cute. Sad to see the dead ones but I think they will be eaten.
In Karaköy there are interesting streets, many restaurants and bars, a Tünel station (very old underground funicular) etc.
I was in the right place but it must have been the wrong time. Dr John fan?
🎄🎅🎁☃️✨️❄️💖
I still wont regret it.
Jusr like my trip to the cook islands in 22'
Nooo, they are very cheap and more than worth it c'mon where can you get near that in the North of europe
Certainly beats the old Tilbury to Gravesend ferry. Have a happy chrissy mouse and a sober nude ear.
What you doin in Istanbul riding ferries😂
You’ve answered your own question there 😂
Did you get a hair cut while you were there or are there none left?
Best time to go on the ferries is around sunset. If you are lucky and time it right you will hear the call to prayer.
A major improvement to this Channel would be less stroking of the chin and bit more showing of prices and fares.
MORE WOODEN-THAN A BARN FULL OF SIDEBOARDS. HOW CAN YOU BE THIS BAD AT PRESENTING. SCOTT MONG
👍
Great video Scott
