  • After Satan’s own crash and burn, he took his evil scheme from heaven to the earth to which he fell and began to ensnare the first people God made (misery loves company). From this familiar story that most of us know so well comes five lessons that are eminently practical as we deal with life in a fallen world. In this series, we want to learn to fly by looking at those who fell. Adam and Eve went from flying to falling. What does that mean for us?
This teaching is from our series Crash & Burn with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

Skip's insight opens my eyes to the true nature of Satan's desire to steal from God and to taint God's creation.

What would’ve happened if Adam and Eve never ate the fruit , but let’s say someone 50 years later were to, would it be the same outcome? Would everyone pay for what that one person did, even the people born before? If so, I don’t know how fair that is. I’m even struggling with the fact that 2 people sinning against God can cause the whole world to be affected including people not born yet. If the reason the world is the way it is today is because of normal sins we commit everyday , I would understand but if it’s because of the disobedience towards God the eating of the fruit, how is it fair to the people who wouldn’t have eaten it if they were in their position?

We don't sin because of Adam and Eve. We won't be judged because of Adam and Eve's sin. We will only be judged of our own sins. The present condition of the world today is a direct result of the sins committed in the world today. If a human were born and lived a sinless, holy and righteous life, then he would not need to avail himself of salvation. The focus of the story is that Satan 's influence was present in the Garden of Eden and by succumbing to that influence, Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Focus on God's original plan...and then on His forgiveness and mercy. Do not question God's nature or his motives. Do not look at man for a plan of justice or righteousness. We each have an eternal spirit which will either return to dwell in God's kingdom or ultimately share in Satan's fate.

One more thing : Instead of "Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy", "Remember the Sunday to keep it holy".

Saturday is the Sabbath. Saturday is Shabbat in Hebrew. Saturday is Sabado in Spanish.

You are very judgmental. Clothes and setting are not the message. For an example have you heard “nothing good can come put of Nazareth”?
