Why did the PFT hurt my throat? First, it took several tries to do the first part and the back of my throat started hurting. The tech gave me albuterol which I had a reaction to, so we did not do the test. 4 months later I agreed to go back but for just the gas exchange portion, and with no drugs used. The tech had me take several breaths and again the back of my throat started hurting so I left. My throat feels burned and I have a dry cough. Did they use a drug again? Or was the equipment not clean?
Hi, I have asthma and will be taken a PFT soon. Just wondering would the reading be different if a person is having an asthma attack or just feeling ok the day of the test?
My understanding is that we should not be using race as part of the corrections bc of the bias that exists. Placing certain populations at risk of being underdiagnosed for a pulm problem?
very detailed and clear, thanks a lot doctor!
