the problem with health care and early retirement (pre 65) is that finding out what costs are is a black box, you can't get any concrete costs until your almost ready to retire. I was able to get an idea and decided to calculate my insrance at $1000 per month for budgetting purposes. when I actually retired and got private insurance it was $578 per month so I came in under budget. I am 60 so I will need to do that for 5 more years.
So I was forced to retire this year because of health concerns and my job was beginning to let older workers go. Two years earlier I saw the pattern of laying off older workers so I taught myself how to invest and do option trading. So now at age 60 I am, to me, still part time working with my trading. I also have various etfs, bdcs, reits, etc that so far cover my basic needs. As far as health care, I am being extremely cautious with my money these first few years until I take social security, so I take the minimum out to live on. I use obamacare, $57 health $21 dental. I am a renter, so don't have the security of home ownership. As for long term care, it is simply too expensive, my net worth is well under $400k. I don't like to travel or do expensive things, so I am hoping I can still trade at least until 70 to build up my nest egg even more. I agree, don't sweat the small stuff, but also don't sweat the big stuff that is completely out of your control.
Life Is A Journey, Retirement Think Of It As The Start Of A New Journey. Love Your Video, I Agree Many Videos You Watch Scare You Into Thinking You Need More. The SS argument gets so much discussion. Your point of taking when it works for you based on expected life span & the need is good common sense advise. Liked this list!
You’re so many financial gurus on UA-cam offering guidance. But, none share how much they charge from the first video. I think 🤔 if your prices are discussed up front possibly more new clients.

Probate in New Jersey is very efficient for average estate, but the lawyers fearMonger long-term care, taxes, and trust living trusts.
