the duopoly is a major problem for all of us. at the end of the day, both parties make me sad. people like cody make me proud to be an American. thank you Mr. pete
So your solution for the problem of a 2 party state is to add a 3rd party? Cody brought up Plato's allegory of the cave as an analogy for the political system for a reason. To bring in a third party would be like adding a 3rd shadow to play on the cave wall. It accomplishes nothing except to provide false hope. One cannot use political means to abolish the use of political means, or statism itself. Politics are fake and gay, as Cody said

Astute historians of future generations will recognize Cody Wilson as one of the most revolutionary figures of the early 21st century. While the American political mainstream endlessly debated the finer points of so-called “gun control”, and other Governments throughout the world felt relatively secure in their ability to control their subject’s access to firearms, Cody Wilson and a small number of misfit hobbyists, crypto-anarchists, and gun lovers, were fundamentally changing the facts on the ground and settling the debate with a technological coup d’état. We have not even begun to see the unbelievably revolutionary implications of this radical shift in the relationship between the individual and the state world wide.

Great interview with Cody. The Libertarian part of the conversation could go in many directions, depending on which libertarian you speak too. Jo Jorgensen left a lot to be desired as the 2020 candidate at least as how she ran the race. I would love to see you do an interview with Dave Smith who may well be the 2024 presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party. He is a libertarian in belief, but looks at problems realistically knowing as president he will be limited in his impact but is very antiwar and wants to shrink government. He knows there is a difference between what he believes and what he can realistically accomplish if he could win the presidency. He has a UA-cam channel Part of the Problem to get a taste of his beliefs.
"Well, we Europeans are reduced to the level of spiritual farm animals with ever-diminishing freedom, rights, etc. but at least we are well cared for medically (and even that is no longer true)."
The rights in our bill of rights are specifically about individual rights and specifically limiting government power. The national guard argument is inaccurate.
Publish 3d printed starlink dishes. Starlink allows 3d printed dishes access/payments via bitcoin (at a higher price, to cover the added expenses). From there anybody can access the full extent if the internet. Technology and freedom are inseparable.
The British bill of rights guarantees the right to bear arms. It's in the Magna Carta. This host is actually factually incorrect and doesn't know his countries constition. It should be a lesson to Americans that a constitution is not going to stop the civil services chipping away at their rights. The government has no respect for the law.

You and your producer should remember that you are products of a very specific class and cultural segment of the country, not all British people. So the argument that "people in the UK would have no idea what to do with guns", "no one knows how to shoot a gun" is just nonsense. I'm upper middle class, went to boarding school etc, we had shotguns at home, went clay pigeon and pheasant shooting, probably first held a shotgun at 8 or 9. From 13 we had a .22 rifle range at school for target shooting, then the school's combined cadet force had full power 5.56 cadet versions of the SA Assault rifle (modified to straight pulls) that we were trained on. Most people in the country who own land own guns, there are millions of firearms in the UK. The ugly truth is that the reason for gun control in the UK was always really based on keeping them out of the hands of the plebs. That's why it only really got under way in the 20th century once the threat of communist revolution began to be taken seriously. The "it's to stop crime" justification was always just a pretext.
Your first sentence applies equally to yourself. The vast majority in the UK are *not* gun-totting, landed gentry so the generalisation about the wider population's proficiency or lack thereof with firearms is perfectly reasonable.
You sold me. We we will trade him for you, but not straight up, we'll need to throw in some cash and a player to be named later (its a baseball thing) to even up the trade.

Let's try without the twitter link: It's funny to watch Peter admit he forms his opinions, at least about guns, based on something other than history and facts. Perhaps he's a victim of "the popular narrative", like so many NPCs. Peter, you seem to have come a long way in just 2 years. Can you identify a real bullet wound yet? On a less mocking note, you have come along way, or at least are presenting yourself to have. Kudos to you. It would be interesting for you to explain what helped you evolve. Maybe just age and a less ego, more listening and less talking? Again, kudos. You're all growns up.
Libertarian does not mean MadMax anarchy. There are Libertarians who are anarchist but that's not what it means. The United States Constitution is based on Libertarian principles. Libertarian means limited government whose role is to protect life and liberty and provide for the common defense. This means governments role is to investigate, prosecute and punish murder, rape, assault, robbery, fraud and theft; protect property rights and enforce contracts while defending the border.
Taking a central/middle position regarding climate change is nearly as bad as being ignorant to it. Who are you serving other than yourself for not taking a position on this topic? Meaning, if you weren’t so concerned with appeasing both sides, there could be a real conversation. Climate change isn’t debatable. Only how we deal with it is.
I agree. You either think Bitcoin's energy consumption is worth it, and that we should scale back consumption elsewhere while making mining as green as possible, or you think the current global financial system and its consumption of resources are fine, and then we don't need Bitcoin. I'm very much in the former camp. The only third possibility is that you are a dangerous, science-denying lunatic.
How ludicrous. Why should everyone have a opinion one way or another on any random topic? You saying there is no debate to be had means his opinion doesn't even matter. You're a ridiculous person.
Of course climate change is occurring but Climate change is a very nuanced and complex topic and forcing people into false dichotomies is not really fair or wise.
Except I've seen people say that no, advocating for different policies is also "denial", which exposes the fact that really this is about control, not science.
Just finished the episode and the gut feeling was correct but I needed to get to the end before his true feeling came out (as you started challenging Cody), that this convicted sexual abuser is also a racist. He's clearly a white nationalist (hour 1:28). If ANYONE is protected in our society it is the white man and he is clearly making a case as to why that is not the case. He actually slips up and refers to where "a white man wouldn't feel protected" walking with an iPad. Peter, please do a better job before screening you guests, you're only helping people like this by giving them a platform.

All countries attempt to export their ideas. UK probably has the most established history of doing exactly that by persuasion and force.
