GWENT | PLAY SYMBIOSIS BEFORE THE NEXT BALANCE PATCH

- Patch 11.6 gave new life to weather related cards by changing some abilities and adding nature tags to them. We knew this would have an impact on Scoia'tael Symbiosis, but this is just something else. I spent the last few days looking for the most consistent way to maximize the potential of a new broken combo in the game in order to demonstrate how delicate an archetype can be when you introduce new inexpensive payoff cards while having the means to duplicate them. In this video I talk about card selection, reasoning and strategy before playing 5 games with commentary for reference.

Do you think Spring Equinox is balanced?
No, of course! A 5p card should NOT have such a big point output, especially when without a board condition. Bear Witcher Mentor is also a 5p card that could have 12 points, but it requires a board, and thus is balanced.

Initially i thought so, but then i actually beat it, even with dwarves 😂. Not so sure after all. Xavier would also counter this hard.
Nah, It's more meme'y than I thought.
And since there are so many tall punishes and resets, this kind of deck can't really be all that oppressive.
I honestly just think of it as a boring card more than anything.
I love how, even when you play a “meta” deck, you add some variety to it so your deck feels different to play then the exact same deck seen in like ten videos.

@@RickReasonnz If we tutor her she gets boosted, also Saskia for a special to boost her is good. She would demand Heatwave or something to that effect. The payoff exceeds the risk imo.

Machine gun NR was such a fun meme. Also ran it in vypper decks. Now idarran does not work as well.
Should make all of the dupe cards spawn doomed copies maybe. Could raise to 6 or 7 (like Bone Tali) and/or make it boost by nature cards not counting itself.
The Deck reminds me of OG Gwent Ng Alchemy. Very strong value on single cards without restriction in deckbuilding

I was thinking about balancing Spring Equinox the other day, and I think rather than a prov increase it should be treated more like Stefan Skellan.
I think shooting for 8 for 5 is on par with most higher value 5 provision cards, so I would balance it one of two ways:
base boost of 2, gain one additional boost for every 2 nature cards in your starting deck, or base boost of 4, gain one boost for every 3 nature cards in your starting deck. Only real difference is how much do you want it to brick for NG opponents I guess 🤷🏻♂️
I do think morrudd is better in relicts and i dont mind the change q great video sir as usual plus i think they should change the dragon Saskia to strengthen as well rather then boost as you have to do more by killing stuff to boost it just saying.

I tried this deck (for the first time in my life) and got some ez wins. Finally someone else, except for NG has some brocken stuff :D
Quite a good deck. I've been looking on the website and youtube ever since I started playing again this game and there's always some new decks and strategies. Went for the Nature/Elves from the start and now I'm happy I've done it. I love playing with the harmony and symbiosis ( with Mysteries of Loc, Sakia, Dana Meadbh, Eithne, Lake Guardian, Call Of the Forest, Water of Brokilon as the main cards.). Before coming back I used to play movement decks (Gezars, Saskia, Blathanna, Dryad Mathron, Idarran and Whisperer of Doll) , It is very good, but lately the ppl play a lot of locks and specials so I just stopped using it..
I think it would be balanced if it was based on the number of unique nature cards. They've used that distinction before with flaminica and it worked really well I thought
Ceiling is around 10 points i think. I think that number of bronze nature cards excluding self works better, but your idea would lead

Equinox would be fine, if it would banish itself after use. Or if they'd get boosted after every 2nd nature card in your deck. The problem is that if the Seer survives and you can boost it, you pretty much won that round. It's just too much tempo. I feel like besides a the GN Bounty and Rot Tossers, you don't have a consistent way of destroying this deck's gameplan.
SK control can destroy all Seers, push in second round and get Simlas out, so there is a high probability to win

You can also conter them with Toussant, Nilfgard Ball or tactics with Lydia . But still new symbiosis is like one of the most broken decks of all times .
NR Alumni are a great counter and also NG soldiers will ping it away. In the meantime I really hate Alissa plus Simlas. It’s one of the worst Combo’s in Gwent. These exaggerations like playing x waylays or x Spring Equinoxes are as annoying as Reavers.
@@nikitarozhkov3617 MO relicts and SY lined pockets at peak power felt alot less fair to play against back in the day, hell if crimes never got nerfed this symbiosis deck would probably never have a unit to play equinox on haha.
Symbiosis defenetly makes any "fun" or off meta decks unviable tho, you simply need to play some sort of counter or you lose pretty much whenever you see it. Making the game boring, either you play to counter it or you can concede whenever you queue against it.
Revenants should be a great counter to symbiosis, especially with the rework of wolfs bane, just that ng is too strong to slip in even a single win against them. The game sometimes feels like an elaborate game of rock paper scissors

Do you think there's anyway to counter this deck? I've been seeing it in at least 60 percent of my matches and it's so tiring to go against!!!
Many of the versions going around don't feel optimized to me, so there's that... Besides that though here are some tips.
- Remove Elven Seer by any means before they can use Spring Equinox
- Have graveyard punish in your deck i.e Squirrel or Xavier
- Have 1-2 tall punish options in your deck
Regardless of which variant the opp plays, this deck has a lot of potential for bricks so take advantage of their poor draws when you can.

Bruh why haven’t CDPR hotfixed this deck, it's making me mald. They want us to put up with this in over half our matches for a month?
I was hoping for a hotfix too . But it seems like we are going to play against this new no-brain for a whole month ( or even more ) .
you're saying that warrior would be a tough matchup for this deck but I believe warrior doesn't have the power to match that deck.
Even if they destroy every single engine you play, you'd still have +12 spring equinox to play. they still wouldn't be able to win round 1 because when they're destroying your engine, they're not putting points on board, and if you bleed them on round 2 and keep something like simlas, forrest protector and Harald for a short round 3 and crush him.
Skellige warriors with morkvark and warlords are insanely op it literally can counter every deck right now you have to try them

Subbed. You're the first person I've seen suggest Francesca. I suppose she's a first target for the enemy, so many times doesn't succeed? Also, any reason for frost instead of fog?
You can boost Fran if you play Saskia first to keep her safe and I find frost hits for 2 more often than fog and its nice to chip cards down to be in Nature's Rebuke range.

People were crying about KoB with Savolla being potentially a 33point swing. Equinox Simlas can play for 41 with symbiosis. Guess CDPR didn't learn their lesson.
I think that , they should make it that you must have 2 nature cards to get 1 boost , like tactics or give it doom

Only with a baseline buff of 2 or 3, otherwise the card doesnt really have payoff but yeah was my idea too

One of the most broken deck in Gwent history...even Renfri wasn't so broken! I played Gwent since 2016 ( Closed Beta ) and so sad to see, that this year is last for all of us...

Equinox (in it's current state) should have Doomed. Or, make it 7 Prov.

Let's be honest this in my opinion is worse than Renfri 1 and 2. Versus pre fix Renfris we could at least Quax it. This deck slams 4 equinox with Seers then uses Alissa/Simlas to replay them. Very little that can be done. Jean must be back. 😂 🤦🏻♂️
Next patch they will nerve the seer to only non-neutral cards, mark my words.

Kinda dismal early season deck. I despise it when seasons start with a popular pure greed deck since this often pushes later season into really control heavy directions. Not your fault of course, deck is designed as well as it could be.
