I'm a bit teary-eyed after watching this. I mean, I've been struggling and feeling guilty of this issue. Now, alhamdulillah--- it has been answered.
Salam sister, am struggling with understanding all of this. If you can help , so I have my periods for 7 days usually the flaw is only for 3 days after that it’s not same flaw sometimes only spotting , and I saw some other videos sheikh said if we don’t see white discharge thread than we should insert tampon and if it comes out clean we are good to go. But even on seventh day if I insert to check if am all clean or not I see it comes out brown , so I clean myself , what should I do after that ? Should I wait for sometime and check again if it’s still clean , am I good to go ?

just wait until your private part becomes absolutely free from any type of blood by putting a cotton pad or something similar to it into your private parts and then or wait for the white clear discharge signaling purity from menses.

when you say discharge here, are you referring to white discharge or blood? and is white discharge a sign of period?
Depends on the colour of the spot, there are hadiths where women used to show the colour of these to Aaisha and it was determined that anything of a brownish colour is nothing to worry about... Also not to rush and make ghusl otherwise you end up doing it 2-3 times in a day like here

The fiqh of menstruation is something that is difficult even for the brothers to study in madrasa
Alhumdulilah here is what I learnt in my part time aalimyah inshallah you and I can benefit
Firstly as this is pertaining to our ibadah we must keep track. Some ulama say it is even farz to track the cycle dates. What time you got it what salah you last prayed and the duration of the cycle length. This tracking creates an adah or habit.
Second the ruling for when to ghusl must be fresh discharge, not dried. Ulama say this is best done by using a kusruf otherwise known as interlabial pads
Once a woman had an adah let’s say she bleeds 6 days but spots on the 7th day every month
Then she would do ghusl on the 7th day because this is according to her adah

What of her period is not in track yet-like should used to have period for 8/9 days. Then after childbirth her period has become lighter, irregular. Like she os seeing discharge and after 20 hrs another discharge. And it continues for like 10 /12 days. Whta should ahe do then?

So my cycle is 3 to 4 day my periods Normally ends in 5th day & I take gusul in 6th when I'm confirmed... So this time on my 5th day I took gusul as no blood was seen from day 4 & prayed Salah but then I got intimate with my husband & saw blood coming out for few minutes then it's gone again so I did gusul & prayed again so it's it permissable to have intimate time during this confusion or need to wait for few more days ... But it's clear that i would not get the blood coming out if I didn't get intimate.. so if I can pray in this time isn't is considered I'm pure & get intimate with my husband???

It's so confusing. I'll have my period for 7 or 8 days followed by like 4 or 5 sometimes even 6 days of colored discharge and spotting it's so so stressful. I've made ghusl like twice now but it still continues. I know they say once it's dry or there's clear discharge then you're fine but how long does it have to be dry or clear? Sometimes it'll be dry or somewhat clear for like an hour and then will go back to colored discharge but does this count as it being finished? I'm not sure and it's so confusing may Allah make it easy for me and forgive me. I'm so afraid I go almost 2 weeks not praying and I fear it seems like I'm neglecting the salah astaghfirullah

Ah that always happens I don't get a spot for hours and think finally I'm over then all of a sudden after taking shower and praying i get brownish discharge

After getting iud. My menstruation cycle is a lot longer than 7 days now. But I read on Islamic Q and A about this specific issue to just go by when normally cycle would end ( for me it was 7 days) and go back to praying. I hope this is right advice I have been doing this last couple months. Because iud I have lots of spotting and more heavy periods and it’s not ending for maybe 10 days and than some spotting than finally nothing for a short time before my next period starts
I had exactly the same problem after getting iud placed. I also followed Islamqna answer but
I struggled for over a year with this confusion and frustration and finally got rid of the iud. It has completely changed my cycle back to normal alhamdulilah. Allah knows best..

Iud is not permissible sister ,also it causes many health problems, better avoid it and u can try azl natural way of birth control.
If you are at day 10 then at magreb time. (The islamic night) you shower and ignore the rest. Cuz theire was a woman that was always bleeding and never stoped. Due to a disease. So prophet said... If its more then normal you start your menstruation and then wait ten days then make gusl and done. Ignore the rest cuz islamicly menstruation is only 3-10 days. Nothing more, nothing less.
I am a teen , but I get spotting before period like 2 3 days and so on , and then I get periods I read on Islamic Q that spotting before period we can skip Salah and so I am following it , but m not sure and plus now in Ramadan too I'm having spotting and I feel so bad that I'm missing Salah and Fastings

Sheikh Asim al Hakim said different. He said we don’t need take ghusl again and again . Change clothes and do wudu is enough. Because taking shower in one day for 3 times is really hard. When u staying in cold country. It’s an act of ibadah but it’s becoming burden and ghusl is not just wash my body u have to properly wash ur hair as well 😢.
the correct thing to do and Allah knows best is to only make ghusl once you have seen certainly purity after menses either by way of purity by dryness which means the place where the blood comes out from is free from any type of blood or by the discharge of a white transparent discharge.
Yes but how long must it stay dry or clear? Sometimes it will seem dry or clear for a little but but within the same day it still returns to colored discharge. I don't think it is pure for me though

I'm also struggling with this situation, I performed ghusl many times as I thought it's completely ended . But earlier before fajr , I performed ghusl again and resumed my prayer but after few hours later, I noticed small spot again
Mother Aisha said don't hasten till seing white discharge. We should listen our mother not ibn qayyim. He is very knowledgeable and from Ulama but aisha r.a is our mother ..this information make life difficult and there is no evidence from sunnah in this regard

How quickly can one do a compulsory ghusl ? I struggle with OCD/ waswas, I’m worried I would take too long
3 to 5 minutes for me :
1-wash your private parts
2- make wudu
3- Pour water on your entire body, so that it water attains every part of it (your scalp must be wet)

@@sadafnaz258 sorry for the late reply, in islam, a period is not considered a period if it only lasts for as little as 3 days. it has to be 6-7 days at least. so, after the first 3 days of your period, the 2 day time duration of no bleeding still counts as a period. you should only do ghusl after the 6th day when the yellow discharge stops coming.
What school is this according to? Because I have seen other answers far more practical that take into an account the various colors. There is no discussion of color here, just keep waiting and making ghusl over and over.
If you want to know you are free from your period their is a clear discharge that's asign that you finished menstruation. Thanks for the sister who thought me
I’m on the Pill although I shed my uterine lining but it is triggered by withdrawing the pill. As the medication disrupts the cycle it isn’t considered a natural period but called withdrawal bleeding. I didn’t know this fully so all these years I missed Salah thinking it was a period. Do I have to make up the Salah and is the bleeding not Haiydh?
I think this would still be considered a period since you are taking a placebo during this time and it let's your body emit menstrual blood I thought? I am no doctor nor scholar so I'm not sure but I assumed this would count as a period.

What I learned from a Fiqh course, depends on your regular previous cycle (habits). If it is more than your regular period of days (start counting after 10 days), it is called Istehadha.
What about when a woman is starting period but spotting for days befote actual flow of blood? I have this happen and did ince watch a shielh video saying that until there is a flow i must oray abd fast. Please help to clarify. I get so confused, do i pray not pray, fast not fast and the guilt of not doing so. 😢

You're right and that's what should be done.. wait to be certain that the menses has completely finished. Minimum menses 24 hours and maximum is 15 days. Between that we judge as menses.. and الله Knows best.

Ukhti you are not supposed to be skipping before period. Wait until you are certain your period has come.
What about with PCOS and endometriosis? Longggg periods? I can menstruate for 25-30+days!!! I am considering birth control pills just to manage my period so I can pray normally in sha Allah. It truly has been such a hardship. I am a revert and want to strengthen my practice and salaat but am always afraid of being in a state of unclean from menses that come out of nowhere and stay so long
Islamicly you cant menstruate longer than 10 days and not shorter than 3 days. Do gusl on the 10th day after magreb and ignore the rest of the blood. Just do wudu before every prayer
Just as the woman with the issue of blood was healed when she with faith touched the tzittzit , likewise call upon Jesus I to heal you and make you whole. You can pray anytime all the time. Be blessed!

I took tbe bath n my period time was over ... Then I saw a spot at the time of tarawih .... I washed the cloth n continued .... But now again at the time of tarawih I sw the spot .... What should I do ??? My time period is over
I read on Islamic Q that if you have spotting after period something like brownish type of one , and not like the actual period blood but just a spot which is not like period blood, , this could be due to a nerve break down or something

During the 4th day of my period I saw brown colour discharge then in 6th and 7th days I saw yellow colour discharge but in 12,13 or sometimes 14th days I saw water colour discharge. Right now my question is when I should start my praying I am really confused? And also not praying for 12 to 14 days is really difficult. I hope someone could help me. I don't think it's called qaza. Look it up. Zuhr and Asr can be combined. Maghrib and Isha can be combined. In cases of hardship this is allowed.

It is permissible to combine Zuhr and 'Asr together at the time of either of them and to combine Maghrib and 'Isha' together at the time of either of them. These four are the prayers that can be put together: Zuhr and 'Asr, and Maghrib and 'Isha', at the time of either of them, either the first or the second.
What if I am clean at zuhr and I am at work and cannot ghusul. Do I wait miss prayers and then make it up at isha?
This is also something I have wondered about, I normally just check more often during work time wether I got pure and then remember at what time approximately I got „pure“ so lets say Asr time had already started, when I get home it‘s Isha time already but I take Ghusl and pray Dhuhr, Asr (combining both just to be sure), Maghrib & Isha 😅 I really hope I have not been doing it wrong

Do ghusl after 15days and 15nights(check fr the 1st time you spot the blood and count it). Then pray. But you have to take wudu for each fard prayer -1wudud for 1 fard prayer only after azan. Niat for wudu is to take wudu for fard prayer(or go check with your local mosque ustazah). Do wash istinjak every time and change panty liner to cleanse from blood.
If women have no active blood flow but when wiped there’s brownish spotting. Is this still considered discharge or not?
What if someone gets red like fluid before periods but not exactly blood should she still pray or not?

How about when for the whole day of day 7 (from afternoon to fajr the next day), theres no discharge, so i take ghusl the next day and fast, then theres dischsrge again. Is it still considered menses? Even when more than 12 hours has passed without discharge?

@@haarisahali149 Assalamu Alaikum sister, after asking around, I got to learn from one Ustadha that within 15 days, if the menses comes back even though a lot of hours or a day has passed, then it is still considered menses. For example, today I thought I’m done with my menses bc lots of hours has passed without it, but the next day it came back, and it’s still day 9 or 10 from my first day of menses (which means it is within the 15-day period), then it is still menses. I also heard it’s just 10 days and not 15, and after the 10th day or after the 15th day, you can ignore any discharge. I also suggest asking other sisters around you regarding this, it helped me a lot. I hope this helps. And Allah knows best. ❤️

You only need to wet your hair and scalp when gusal is fardh, not at other times

What about women who have pcos and have problems like I don’t know when I my period starts or when it ends I bleed a lot and heavy and I spotting a lot sometimes it takes me a whole week, the beginning and the end ?
And during those salah that prayed and then we noticed that there was still menstruation are we held accountable for praying in that state or not because we did not know?

I am struggling to find information on this topic and I mean no disrespect but the limited information I have found are from males denying women are even peri menopausal. I am 42 years old and have many symptoms. My menses is extremely irregular for many months now with two periods a month. It is menses bleeding as (sorry I don't mean to be vulgar) it has a distinct smell. I stop my salah for this reason. Ordinarily my endometriosis pain is excruciating when on my menses and when it happens the second time my pain is no different. I and others are convinced that I am peri menopausal but where does that leave me with my salah? If you can advise I would be most grateful or in the alternative, if you could please upload a video on this topic that too would be most helpful. I advised that you do research on istihaadah as it has to do with irreguler bleeding and it will help you to know how to pray salaah during irreguler bleeding or ask a sheik or muslimah on this topic to educate you.
You can pray if periods exceeds 15 days but you have to make wudu for each prayer. I’m answering this late but i hope you found the answer in time and maybe my answer can help another person in the future inshaAllah

I have a big doubt and I’ve been struggling with it for quite a few months
After doing ghusl, on the 14th day of being clean, I find a small thread like very thin ( like a small nerve) red colour substance along with white discharge.I find this one or two days before I get my actual period. So do I have to consider the thin thread like thing to be isthihala or menses. I am struggling to understand this and don’t know If my prayers and saum are valid.
I also find this thread like thing at the end of my period like after 10 or 11 days I find this. So can I do ghusl or do I have to wait until the thread like thing disappear??

It's only been 4 days of having your period, I would wait til you no longer see brown or blood anymore.

it depends. if you saw purity from menses either by the discharge of the white clear discharge or the dryness which means if you put a cotton pad or something similar to it into the place where the blood comes out (your private parts) and this cotton comes out absolutely free from any type of blood and menstrual discharges, then you consider yourself pure and just wash your private parts and make wudu whenever this comes out if it’s just one or two drops of blood or yellow or brown discharge. but if you weren’t sure if you are pure or not and you have not seen purity yet and you made ghusl (ritual bath) and then something came out then this spotting is still considered part of your menses.
what about yellow discharge? My period only lasts 3 days hardly but idk if i should take ghusl or wait for 6 days bcz even after takin ghusl on 4 day or 5th day i still found that yellow thing on ny cloth so i just don't understand what should i do wait or just take ghusl ??? I'm on my 5th day today and this is Ramadan first day and I didn't fast n waiting for clearing my doubt 😭

I have a question, usually I start spotting brown 3 days before my actual period date. For example if I’m due on a Tuesday but start spotting brownish on a Saturday before…. Is that considered part of the period? And I would have to break my fast? Or should I wait for actual date of my period?

Hey my dear sister,
The spotting that comes before your period is not part of your period. This means you must continue your prayer. If you are certain that the blood is flooding then it means that it is your period. Sheikh Assim answered this question as well.
if this spotting is accompanied by the pain of the menstruation and the menstrual blood flows immediately connected to that spotting then it is considered menses. but if the spotting comes and goes and it is dry and pure again for a day or so, then no, not considered menses.

In a video one sheikh says that maximum mense period is 15 days.if we did not see our pure discharge or just dryness before 15 days ,we must wait.i guess if it's duration is more than 15 days it is health issues. I do not know if it is true. ALLĀH KNOWS BEST

okay so as far as i know, i had a fluid filled sac in my womb it wasnt anything serious and didnt have any symptoms, all that happened was i started to have my period more frequently
like 2 times a month for 6-7 days, but i got well with the help of some medication in about 5 months

As far as I have researched anything brownish is not continued period blood, so is not to be considered, you can just do normal wudu and pray / fast as normal

Salam since three months my menstruel changed i get my période 6 days. i get clean White i do ghoussoul and i pray but after two days i got a flow of blood stay 7 days. What you are experiencing is istehaza.

Istehaza is flow of blood but is not considered as periods. You are pure even when you have flowing blood and you can pray. Search on UA-cam you'll find many informative videos.

It’s better to take ghusl before the zuhr prayer , but in Islam the day begins when time of Maghreb comes, so on Thursday when Maghreb comes , it’s already considered a Friday , and the last hour of Friday is the last hour of asr. So you can take it in the evening or in the morning

so basically any yellow/brown discharge you see a good time (at least 24hrs I think) after you see white/clear discharge(which indicates purity) can be ignored.

I instruct u to identify deeper ur kind of discharge,could be after menses pre istihadha(non regular bleeding) discharge ,or could be follow the period before or after the period which is counted as a part of the period,many varieties

this explanation is actually complicated. islam is way easier than this. either you take ghusl from menses once the place where the menses blood comes out from gets dry which means if you would put a cotton pad or something similar to it into the place and it comes out clean with any trace of any type of blood then this is purity or you know purity by discharge of the white transparent clean discharge. if you see yellow or brown after seeing certain purity you don’t consider it menses or anything. if you get yellow or brown discharge before seeing purity, you’re still on your menses according to some opinions of the scholars. Allah knows it best.

It's nothing like that. During periods women are in pain so Allah tells us to not pray and rest and when our period ends and we are fine then we should start praying again.. Praying is meeting and talking to Allah and when you meet someone you should be clean .. 🌺hope it clears your misconception

if this spotting is followed immediately by menstruation blood and accompanied by menstrual pain then it is considered menses. but if some discharge comes and then stops or there is discharge and then it stops and it is pure for a day or so and it goes like that for days then it is not considered menses. shaykh aziz farhan has spoken about it in arabic but i don’t know if there is a translated version of it.
