Thank you so much for this! We've just bought a VW Campervan (1989 high top) and couldn't decided between Scotland or Ireland for our first tour in June. I've now chosen Ireland!
Ahhh thank you so much 🙏 your wonderful country was a blast 💚🇮🇪 and your support and comments along the way have been lovely 😊 A q&a film out later today then next week our Spanish adventures start 🇪🇸🌞
Thank you again for your two videos and the Q& A in Spain. Great seeing you both again. Happy New Year to you and Yours and hope to see you back in Kerry again sometime. Michael Quirke, The Bridge Field.
Ah thank you Michael 😊 and a very Happy New Year to you too. We'll be sure to revisit Bridge Field when we return and heartily recommend you to anybody else who's visiting Kerry
Great video, I am catching ferry on 10th January. Going to be weird without the network of footpaths we are used to in UK and shame it is not that dog friendly as I love walking with my well behaved dog. I wonder if pet dog ownership in Ireland lags behind England and Wales? Although I have found even here it can vary from area to area when it comes to pubs and cafes.
Great post. Thank you both, it's very good information for me as I'm aiming to do 2 months touring Ireland with my doggie. Hope to see you on the road somewhere. Take care and have a great New Year. JJ
Ahhhh you'll love Ireland, just be a little more prepared for your walking spots. As you've seen, the walking is fabulous but it's hard to be 'impromptu' Thank you as always ✌️😊
What is the difference between your daily costs in Ireland compared with the UK? If you are minded to share, it would be good to know the ferry costs to Ireland and Europe and your ongoing fixed costs, travel insurance, van depreciation and sinking fund for new van, vehicle insurance, road tax, breakdown cover, repairs.
Hi there, thank you so much as ever for taking the time to watch and comment. Our costs in the UK are much nearer our £70 top budget but that is sometimes out if necessity staying on campsites where we have commitments. Ferries were crazy money - Ireland was about £480 return which was a flexible ticket. We travelled Portsmouth to Santander which got us to Spain without using Schengen days and we paid a whopping £590 which included paying a premium for flexibility and an outside cabin. Van insurance last year was about £450 including 6 months in Europe and breakdown. We've paid more this year as we've bought a green card for Morocco. Travel and health insurance is more expensive this year, but we have a reason we need it to be bespoke. As for the other questions, if you're on Instagram or Facebook then DM us and we'll happily chat about how we gave up house living for van living 😊✌️

Gougane Barra is pronounced 'goo-gawn barra'. Nice vid btw. Glad to enjoyed the Emerald Isle. Take care.
Ahhh thank you 😊 🙏 yes, pronunciation isn't our strong point!! We adored Ireland, hope that came across in the films 💚🇮🇪
