- I CANT BELIEVE IT! WE MADE IT TO JAPAN! Join us on this EPIC travel vlog as we travel from London to Tokyo Haneda airport for the start of the epic new Japan travel vlog series!
Today we have one of the best flight experiences with JAL (Japan airlines) while we embark on a 15 hour direct flight from London.
Arriving in Tokyo we get a glimpse of what is in store for us, from vending machines to the busy tokyo metro!

I've been living in Japan for the past 7 years (Kumamoto, way down south) so it was fun to see Japan through fresh eyes! I'm used to Japan now but I tried to go back to America for a visit last year and I couldn't stand it. 😆 I was like, "GET ME BACK TO JAPAN IMMEDIATELY." My husband is Japanese so I'll be here forever, but even if he wasn't, I don't think I'd want to leave. 😅
Hehehe omg I could totally live in Japan the only downside for me would be how far away from my friends and family I would be! Me and dean even said if it was a short flight we would move there! 🥹🥹🥹🥹

I am so happy that your video highlights the contrasting beauty of Japan on day one. My favourite part of Japan is the fact that tradition and modernity intertwine perfectly. I usually find “travel day/ first day in Japan” vlogs frustrating because it seems like people visit with zero research and become overwhelmed very quickly. I’m so happy! I’ve been trying to study by myself Japanese for 5 1/2 months now, and this year I’ll finally get online classes because I’ll be doing my XV travel once I turn 16 and it’s going to be to Japan! We are still saving for it, of course I do my best to don’t buy unnecessary/ expensive things and just in 1 week I already planned some places to go, things to do, calculated the average money we’ll need, we searched hotels and everything! It’s going to be a trip of only my mother and I. Im so happy, hope everyone can go sometime too!
This brought back all the memories of my first trip to Japan! You MUST try the egg salad sandwiches. I know it sounds simple but trust me, there soooo good. I bought one everyday at a Family Mart near the airbnb I was staying at.
Oooo we did try these they were DELICIOUS infact all the sandwiches were! The bread is so soft hehee 🥹
I love the idea of wishes and fortunes at the temple. I wish they had that practice here in the US. Very meaningful.
THIS IS SO EXCITING!! it's been a dream of mine to travel to Japan for years! I cannot wait to see you and Deans experience, I hope you had so much fun!! I think my favorite part was the little bar shops lining the alley. It was really cool to see that everyday culture, something you don't see a lot of!

Okay so I haven't actually started watching the vlog yet but want to scream from the top of my lungs that I LOVE YOUR TRAVEL VLOGS! We are totally different travellers (the amount of times you've taken a detour/didn't have a plan/figure it out when you get there will have given me some heart attacks) but that's what makes it so interesting to watch. I even got my partner into watching these with me and we "ooo" and "aaaaaah" over all the little things. I will be glued to all the episodes :)

Just helpful tips, take em or leave em:
1. Order your SIMS card or Wifi before leaving for your trip. That way, you can switch or set everything up on the plane and start immediately using your mobile devices.
2. Always always aaalways sleep on the plane! I know it can be hard but you will spend most of your first day or two sleeping if you don’t sleep on the plane.
3. For vlogging, please be mindful of filming laws in Japan.
4. Also not sure if you mention this, but bring lots of cash. Most vendors in Tokyo will take credit card but outside of the city more and more vendors only accept cash.

So excited for these vlogs! I hope to get to Japan next June for the Shibori (art that I create)festival. I did hear all the prices are going up this fall for trains and some other things. LOVE the Stitch and Pooh you got. I will have to bring an extra suitcase just for all the shopping!
I think the JR rail pass is going up in october but we didnt even use it to be honest! So hopefulyl it will be okay! heheh they are so flyuffy, we had extra cabin bags and half a empty suitcase for the cute souveniers and merch lol 🌸

Yay - how exciting for you. Loved this first video and can’t wait for the rest. Coming off the plane and straight into getting train tickets, portable wifi, then finding the right trains/platforms is pretty daunting but you both seem to handle it well.

Your video got recommended to me at the right time! In a month me and my boyfriend will also go to Japan for a little bit over 3 weeks. We also got a direct flight from Germany which takes over 13 hours and I was also planning to go to Disneyland and Universal studios. We also stay in Tokyo twice and booked a hotel in shinjuku. So many similarities! I really enjoyed how excited you seem because I will probably feel the same! I've lost count of how many Japanese dramas, video games, shoujo manga and anime I have consumed. To see it all in real life will be so exciting, it really is a dream come true

Oh, Japan at last! Staying in Japan for a long time is very dangerous.🤔That's because one gets used to living in Japan, and when they return, they miss Japan a lot. And a year later they're dying to go back. At the end of the day, they start thinking seriously about settling in Japan.😓

The flavored alcoholic drinks are called chuhai, I get the 9% Strong Zero brand. Welcome to Japan, I live here now so I live seeing people's first time here. I always recommend taking on empty bag for all the stuff you buy so you're not stressed in trying to fit everything. If you need to, go to Donkihote and use Google translate to ask where suitcases are. If you're in Shinjuku there is one there I believe.
Ooooo! Yesss we ended up doing a big don quiote shop in shibuya on the last day getting all sorts of snacks and goodies for friends hahaha I really want to come back already haha 🥹🌷
Awesome! When I visited in 2010 when my friend went back I didn't know much about Japan, but staying 3 months made me fall in love with it here. 9 years later I finally was able to stay here happily, been here 4 years now.

The best time to visit Tokyo in summer is from evening to night!
Museums and department stores during the day, shrines and parks in the evening.
And downtown at night. Night strolls are safe for women only.
