Thank you, Kevin. It is very interesting to see your experiments with different papers.

Thanks for watching Gilyin! Yes, I have a lot of experimenting to do to catch up with a lot of techniques and media. One door seems to open up to two more and those do the same and so on. This one surprised me though with that black turning into a grey when embossed with the clear.

I’m gonna try this with printing on photo paper from my ink jet printer. Very interesting… of course I laughed when it was white pigment ink to the rescue! That fluffy look that you achieve never fails! Tfs

Let me know how it goes. Watch out for that puckering and melting of the surface with photo paper. But, yes, white pigment ink can sure save me in many a situation. These days, I don't even look at most things that look off as anything bad as I know I'll be applying some white at the end. But, this eagle was pretty bad. I'm just glad that I was able to wipe off quite a bit of it before it dried. lol

So that was really interesting. After thinking about this for a few minutes...so glossy photo paper the pigment based ink would never dry thus the dye based ink for the quote and eagles? And the pigment for the embossing powder. Love the repair. Overall really good video. Thanks!!

Thanks for watching Shelle! It's the oil based aspect of the Clair pigment ink that won't allow it to dry on the emulsion coated photo paper. A Brilliance water based pigment ink would dry on it. I just used the Clair because it's so dark and detailed but maybe that doesn't matter with the embossing as that tends to round things out anyway. I should do a comparison test with Brilliance + embossing and Clair + embossing. Brilliance is a fast drying ink though so I don't know how it will take powder if it's been sitting there for a couple minutes before I'd sprinkle the powder on top. I also used dye ink for the quote and birds as I thought they would look set back from the trees, distance wise, but the lighter result of embossing on photo paper with the Clair (for some odd reason) made it otherwise. That alone makes me think that I wouldn't emboss on photo paper again -not for dark foreground imagery at least. I would do photo-stamping on something like a matte card stock though or some other type of paper that we can print photos on and, if I wanted it glossier, I would just spray seal with a glossy acrylic spray probably.

Hey Kevin. Hold your card with a clothes pinned you won't burn yourself.
