I don't know how this holds up in America, but I know a lot of African women stick to Olay because its a stable product that doesn't encourage us to bleach our skin. That being said...I'm pretty sure she uses it now because she's sponsored by them and while there's def better products out there, I'm sure she likes being paid as well.
My aunt was scammed $7k by a Publisher's Clearing House scam, and when she found out, she called the police. My mum has been using Olay for years, even back when it used to be called oil of Ulan or whatever it was called and sticks to it because she knows and trusts it and because it’s easily accessible (also a big plus!) but she only ever buys it on sale. Oh no!!! That happened to my grandmother and they actually got thousands upon thousands of dollars. I'm so glad you were able to intervine!!!! Much love to you and your family!!!!
Feel like Quinta’s admiration for Olay is a great place to talk about white privilege in the beauty space. Many BIPOC communities have been made to feel unwelcome in stores like Sephora (treated like thieves for simply being BIPOC etc), and while legacy brands may have racist legacies too, they were much more accessible to marginalized groups being in the drug store, grocery, etc. Women in these families likely used and grew loyalty to those products, and passed this loyalty down to the next gen simply from proximity and watching their loved ones use it. These brands become familial in that sense, especially if Momma/Grandma had great results/stunning skin, and become almost a cultural staple in that nostalgia.

Hi Cassandra, thanks for the video. With respect to the Peace Out Puffy Eyes Patches, please note that the gardenia extract is indeed a fragrance. The manufacturer didn't list it as such in the ingredients list, which is something brands do. (Although I will say that the packaging doesn't claim that the product is fragrance free.) However, it s a really bad idea to use products with fragrance around the eyes. It's a bad idea in general to use fragranced products on facial or body skin, but it's especially problematic around the eyes.
She is absolutely adorable (and very funny)... but she's a spokesperson for Olay. Now, she might use anyway, but I find it shady af when people dont disclose stuff like that.

A lot of times these high prices shown are the msrp but the items are way cheaper a lot of time on amazon & Walmart especially. Amazon especially has the coupons on & other discounts, You are right there are better products then Olay but in there defense they do at least formulate stuff well & usually the actives are way above the phenoxyethanol line etc, but they do have to many different products and then they have "Max" versions of this stuff that they say are more potent, They had a ProX line that was really formulated well, but of course they discontinued it, Side note too I believe she is a spokeswoman for them! So...I recently picked up the Olay retinol moisturizer and the eye cream. BUT I made the decision to buy both because I wanted something very moisturizing on the cheeks/forehead and something lighter around my eyes. I also got them on a hella good sale plus used coupons and did the rebate Olay has going on right now. So, I picked up the moisturizer, cleanser (probably won't use), and the eye cream for about $25 total. I definitely wouldn't have picked it up at $40 each! But for $25 total, I'll try them out and see how adding retinol to my routine goes.

Hello from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! I’d like to assure you that every time I have gone to that Comcast center there are two employees working with lines out the door, so none of them have the time to call anyone.
Admittedly the olay retinol night cream is the only entry level my sensitive skin has been able to tolerate 🤷🏻♀️ Been using for a month and its working quite well
That's the beautiful thing about skincare is we pick what works for us as individuals. I don't care if someone else likes or hates the same stuff that works for me.
Even though it isnt the strongest, it seems like a good product considering that it has stood the test of time. Many US based derms do recommend it, along with neutrogena and roc's retinol cream.
If you're looking for a retinyl proprionate retinol, my skin absolutely loves French Pharmacy A314 pomade, It is a balm, but ive never had a reaction with it (& i get contact/non serious rosacea with some actives). Plus my hormonal acne goes bye byes within days of applying at night time

Huh. I don't use Olay products because most of them have fragrance, and I have sensitive skin. Also, a lot of the products are packaged in jars. The problem with jars is that active ingredients in the product can be broken down by exposure to air and light, which happens every time you open the jar. I used to use the Olay foaming cleanser for sensitive skin (unscented) in the shower in the morning, but it wouldn't remove makeup, and it bothered my eyes if I got it in them. And I had to use a different cleanser to remove makeup. I switched to the Vanicream cleanser which does remove makeup on me. I have extremely dry skin, so I don't know if it would work for those with oily or normal skin. Also, I used to use the Olay moisturizer in the black and white bottle with SPF 15 - I think it was the Complete for sensitive skin product. But I stopped using it when I switched to a sunscreen with SPF 30. If Olay would stop using jars, and remove fragrance from their products, I might try them. Note: Some Olay products say "fragrance free" on the label, but guess what's in the ingredients list - fragrance! As Cassandra says, "Turn and learn."
Hi Cassandra! You pointed out in this video about how Olay seemed to often be using the same products in different items and just jacking up the price for basically the same thing. So, this got me thinking about these other products that are "holy grail" for me, but are in the same skincare line as each other (not in Olay). I created a whole excel sheet to alphabetically compare two items in particular -- an eye cream and a facial serum/cream, both of which I adore. Both are marketed mainly for fine line/wrinkle smoothing. I wanted to ask what you thought of what my results were. The eye cream had 58 total ingredients and the facial cream had 53. Out of these ingredients, 29 ingredients were used in both items. So, this is 50% of the ingredients in the eye cream and 55% of the ingredients in the facial serum/cream. Do you think that the same thing might be going on in these products? There is an extremely clear difference in the consistency between the eye cream and the face cream. The eye cream is rich and thicker and makes my skin have a nice dewy shine and feels much more hydrating and the face cream is thin and soaks into my skin more. I will occasionally use the eye cream on other parts of my face or neck, but only when I'm being extra or when I'm for some reason wanting that strong dewy shine all over. But if I don't want a whole dewy face all over, I'll just use the eye cream on the eyes and the face cream everywhere else. Hope you see this! I have watched many of your videos and am subscribed :)
Scalp question: have you tried massaging oil cleanser onto your scalp before washing your hair? I have tried it a few times and seeing amazing results, but would like to hear your and others’ thoughts on it. Thanks!
Glow Recipe did discontinue the Avacado Melt Retinol Sleeping mask. I bought one off Amazon like 6 months ago I'm savoring the FU*K out of it lol. I'm so so so upset they did that! I think it was because they make more on the eye cream since they were practically the same thing.
I like the Bread oil but I don't use it on my hair very often. I'll use it on my ends and sometimes use it to smooth fly-aways. What I love the oil for is using it on my hands and cuticles before bed. It's also great on the lips. My husband gets terribly cracked hands during winter and I let him use my oil and he loved it. It helped heal his hands in a couple days. I chose the product in one of my Ipsy bags and it's lasted me FOREVER! I'm sure you could find the same oil for much cheaper but I think the bottle is cute and may refill it once I use all of the original product. (Unless I find something else I like better. Then I'll hold on to the bottle for forever, swearing that I'm going to use it for "something" but in reality it'll just take up space in a drawer or cabinet somewhere in my bathroom or studio!😊)
In Spain you can buy these same products for half a price so they are really affordable. Also, the serum is 40ml which is quite generous. I like Olay creams and, yeah, I trust them too, never got any allergy or unwanted pimples while using them...and I do have bad experience with some of the brands Cassandra very often recommends. Doesn't mean I only use Olay creams of course. Greetings from sunny 😎 Spain! P.S. I just checked the retinol Olay serum is 21$ at Walmart (online), not 40!
It's sad that we have to be so concerned about our family and these phone scammers. Lmao your dad texting you what Comcast said 🤣🤣 I had a patient who literally ended up in the ED with stroke like symptoms because she was at her bank and she accidentally gave a scammer her information and her bank was telling her everything was gone. 😬😬 I was shocked. I felt bad for her. You never know until it's you. It's hard because they're getting good at scamming people
These scammers are sophisticated. They sell your info around to other groups of scammers who each use their own tactics. So some people get scammed more than once especially the elderly.
Cassandra, you can by yourself a reusable cup. 😘I´m not hating or anything, just a tip. Anyway thank you for all your work and education. Have a lovely day.
I hope to see the days when celebrities endorse small ethical cosmetic/beauty companies but not only for the money, but also because they really love the products (not that I'm saying Quinta doesn't, I used to be a huge Olay fan myself, then I went vegan .... )
I have been told by my curly hair artist to stay away from hair oils. Water is your curls best friend, and when you use oil it repels water and it's not able to hydrate your hair. At least that's what she said 😊
Not so. Oil moisturizes the hair and skin. However, I write this as a European American with wavy hair. I can't claim any expertise or knowledge with respect to African American hair.
@20thcenturyrelic Ah, yes my daughter is mixed and her curls are different than yours. I tried using coconut oil and different things on her curls but her curls were always fizzy. She educated us on curl care and water is your best friend with curls. She rehydrates her curls in the morning to reactivate the conditioners with water finger combs her hair. But if she were to use oil the water would not be able to pass the oil barrier. Her curls are so much better after we got educated in curl care no more friz
All influencers seem to miss the point when they look at the price of Olay. It is literally on sale SOMEWHERE every week for half price. This is just a pricing strategy, it should not be compared to products at a comparable RRP because no one is ever really buying it at its RRP.

I dont understand all the fuss, all products that have some actives in them don't put the actives as a first ingredient, of course they have to pyt glycerin ( to balance out) the irritation caused by retinol, or dimethicone for spreadabiluty I guess. I would like to see retinol moisturizers that have retinol as a first ingredient, as you inderectly suggest that should be the common practise:)
I LOVE hydrating cushion eye cream ! This zone is fragile my dear! EDIT: you promote retinol but some people became blind, others have cancer. Look studies... Age is not a disease. It's a natural process .
You need to name any product line something with butterflies in it, because my teenager walks by as I'm watching your videos and he says, "Ah. You're watching the butterfly lady," because you always call your fans beautiful butterflies.
Heyy I wanted to ask something. While choosing a sunscreen, does the number of sunscreen filters matter? Like some have 3, some have 4. Do more filters mean higher protection or something?
Olay RRP isn’t the actual price. It routinely goes on sale. The actual price is 40-50% off of the RRP, so gawking at the “$40” price tag doesn’t make sense when that’s not the actual price it’s being sold at.

Finally a reaction video
My mother is getting calls every day from someone trying to scam her! It's awful 😢
I block numbers all the time. Idk if you can do that on a landline though.

Your hair is definitely not 3C, more like 2C. 3C is a super coily, but not kinky, curl.
I was thinking more 2B, seems like her waves are much looser than a 2C.
Her natural curl is much tighter than in this video.
@@clarewhite3004 oh okay, but I think the texture still wouldn’t be 3C
*Just wanted to acknowledge the funny Goop shade.*
Hey Cassandra, love your channel! I find you content so educational, and the side info like the exchange with your dad.. just golden!
I love that cruelty-free is imperative to you. It is to me, as well. Thank you for continuing to call it out.
YES! It is critical for beauty not to harm other living beings!
Scalp question: have you tried massaging oil cleanser onto your scalp before washing your hair? I have tried it a few times and seeing amazing results, but would like to hear your and others’ thoughts on it. Thanks!
I love watching your videos 😂😅 , just laughing in bed non stop watching you just be silly and yourself ! Love you girlll
Have you considered doing a video on Skin Proud? I am curious about you take on this brand.
I luv Quinta 💕 she’s on Abbott Elementary she is hilarious 🤣🤣
She created Abbott elementary
@@efolinsky yes i know, created and plays a major role in the sitcom. One of my favorite shows
WANDA BEAUTY EYE PATCHES ARE WONDERFUL ❤❤😊
Get them, Cassandra! These people need to be locked up for trying to scam people.
Omg i love how you responded to the scam call 😂😂
In Spain you can buy these same products for half a price so they are really affordable. Also, the serum is 40ml which is quite generous. I like Olay creams and, yeah, I trust them too, never got any allergy or unwanted pimples while using them...and I do have bad experience with some of the brands Cassandra very often recommends. Doesn't mean I only use Olay creams of course. Greetings from sunny 😎 Spain! P.S. I just checked the retinol Olay serum is 21$ at Walmart (online), not 40!
Hey do you know about any spanish skincare brands that specialist in acne products?
@Cassandra can you find her day routine.. I love..
And I am going to purchase Bread as well
You reminded me of when my husband saw me use setting spray for the first time. 😅 He was all "omg did you just spray that IN YOUR FACE!?" 🤣
I guess air pollutants would qualify as toxins since many can be carcinogenic. Those do get removed by cleansers.
It's sad that we have to be so concerned about our family and these phone scammers.
Lmao your dad texting you what Comcast said 🤣🤣
I had a patient who literally ended up in the ED with stroke like symptoms because she was at her bank and she accidentally gave a scammer her information and her bank was telling her everything was gone. 😬😬 I was shocked. I felt bad for her. You never know until it's you. It's hard because they're getting good at scamming people
These scammers are sophisticated. They sell your info around to other groups of scammers who each use their own tactics. So some people get scammed more than once especially the elderly.
Do you have any videos on copper peptides? :) thank you ❤
Cassandra, you can by yourself a reusable cup.
At least that's what she said 😊
@@Jess-737 she carries Loma in her shop
@@cristinawiley4905 I can't argue with it if it works for you. But I'm not going to try it.
All influencers seem to miss the point when they look at the price of Olay. It is literally on sale SOMEWHERE every week for half price. This is just a pricing strategy, it should not be compared to products at a comparable RRP because no one is ever really buying it at its RRP.
I love that Lawless mask! I use it every night and it lasts so long
I been watching you for awhile n never sent a comment. But I just want to Thankyou for your down to earth videos😊 n teaching us about true beauty n scams👍Can you pls do one on qvc beauty products..I ordered alot of things from them because everything is considered clean beauty🙄for a couple of yrs(it cosmetics,Josie Marian,Korres n #1 Beekman 1802 for the longest..somethings working🤔because I'll be 56 in June n I'm always told I look like I'm in my late 30's😮🤣I really have to learn how to take compliments🙃Anyway, keep up the good work👏👏👏👍Ps..maybe because I had 3 boys lol..less stress(23,24 n 38yrs)their the best✌
Hello, from Pittsburgh!
Watch abbott elementary! She creates the show and its amazing!
How come you haven't invented a skincare line ❤ cause I would definitely buy. Because I know u know what your talking about.
Cassandera please make your videos long....
I don't like short form videos 😕
Not a fan of abbot elem TV show but her personality is so refreshing
I LOVE hydrating cushion eye cream ! This zone is fragile my dear! EDIT: you promote retinol but some people became blind, others have cancer. Look studies... Age is not a disease. It's a natural process .
I work at a bank and good lord the scams 🤦🏻♀️
When you said Pittsburgh i was like 😳that’s my area…
Hey I’m in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania 😅
You need to name any product line something with butterflies in it, because my teenager walks by as I'm watching your videos and he says, "Ah.
You're watching the butterfly lady," because you always call your fans beautiful butterflies.
I saw that Bread hair oil on Sephora and thought it was a bread scented perfume and almost checked out. 😅
Have you ever reviewed yves rocher?
Hey cass . Idk why but if i use skin care at night i get acne . I have dry skin idk why this happens
Heyy I wanted to ask something. While choosing a sunscreen, does the number of sunscreen filters matter? Like some have 3, some have 4. Do more filters mean higher protection or something?
What do you recommend for neck wrinkles? Are there any products in particular you would suggest?
Can you review the Estée Lauder tri peptide eye cream
Watched this and it humbled me to make sure I removed my makeup from today 😅 Needless to say I’m BEYOND glad I removed it!
Whats your thoughts on the preservative dmdm hydantoin?
You should watch Abbott elementary it’s so good
Why does it all have dmdm hydantoin in every product?
I wouldn't use anything with that in it.
I really like Olay 24 Retinol moisturizer ❤️
Olay RRP isn’t the actual price. It routinely goes on sale. The actual price is 40-50% off of the RRP, so gawking at the “$40” price tag doesn’t make sense when that’s not the actual price it’s being sold at.
How many eye patches in peace out for $25?
A few days ago I lost Rs5000 to a scammer who was trying to rob me even more by asking for otp. I'm an idiot.
