The fuck are you talking about? Dude hit the jackpot in joining Game Grumps; there isn't just a Game Grumps-like outfit out there for everyone with similar talents and skills. I'm not saying this isn't a slick video, or that Dan isn't hella good at both music and comedy, but don't lie to yourself and say 'persistence' is the main element at play. If he had missed whatever channel initially got him in contact with Arin it's very likely that not even a hundredth of us would know of him. Hell, less than a thousandth would still be a conservative estimate. The fact that there are very many people with similar talents who are compelled to channel their skills into PR, advertising or some other bullshit nothing-job is a goddamn tragedy.
Ashley Nu i didn’t deny that game grumps surely helped him a lot. But he did try a lot of things before he ever started game grumps. He could just have given up before game grumps or said to him self game grumps is enough for me. And just because he is part of game grumps doesn’t really mean that all his success was just given to him.
@@KuroiPK I don't deny any of that; it shows that Dan has a lot of enthusiasm for the stuff he makes, and he's really good at it. I know it sucks to be called out by a randomer on the internet, but for every person like Dan there's hundreds of people who could never hope to work on projects like this, and not for lack of skill, dedication or enthusiasm. The problem of saying something like 'this shows persistence is important' is because it is a lie of omission: it implicitly calls into question the 'persistence' of people who have had to settle for menial jobs, or who went into debt through their persistence and still couldn't sustain themselves. Things are more broken from the ground up than can be solved on an individual basis through persistence, and though I might say persistence is an important thing to have when trying to get into a narrow field/industry, it merely maximises a random chance. And that is a random chance that eludes more talent than it finds.
Ashley Nu well I think that or understanding of “persistence” is somewhat different. (Maybe you think that for me is persistence the only factor, which is not the case). I also know that luck is Import and persistence alone isn’t enough or that it can ruin ones life. But what you described about that persistence isn’t enough and you can’t afford your livelihood was actually the case for some years for Dan too. And of course their are countless other people with similar skill set like him that didn’t make it (again didn’t deny any of that nor was this my point, or that he is special in that sense). For me there are three possible outcomes. 1 You make it. 2 You give up. 3 You die trying (which again I’m not saying that it’s the smartest, or easiest, way of living).
I hear the drums echoing tonight But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation She's coming in twelve-thirty flight Her moonlit wings reflect the stars That guide me towards salvation I stopped an old man along the way Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies He turned to me as if to say "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you" Gonna to take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I'll bless the rains down in Africa Going to take some time to do the things we never had The wild dogs cry out in the night As they grow restless longing for some solitary company I know that I must do what's right Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti I seek to cure what's deep inside Frightened of this thing that I've become Gonna to take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I'll bless the rains down in Africa Going to take some time to do the things we never had Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you Gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I'll bless the rains down in Africa I'll bless the rains down in Africa (I'll bless the rains) I'll bless the rains down in Africa (I'll bless the rains) I'll bless the rains down in Africa I'll bless the rains down in Africa (going take some) Going take some time to do the things we never had
@@GuardedFox Agreed - normally it feels like Danny adds vocal depth to a cover, but in this one, as much as I love it, it feels like a layer was stripped away.

They were always pretty capable of shooting great videos. Just the dolls were amazing for their stupid songs.
Don't count that dummy out. I completely expect that dummy to show up again. The quality of the videos has increased though.
This video is filmed at Meow Wolf Santa Fe, and it only shows maybe 1/4 of all the amazing interactive rooms they have! It's like Alice in Wonderland, an enchanted forest, the happiest acid trip of your life, and an alien planet all in one. Go there ASAP! You will NOT regret it! :)
I'm surprised they didn't show the washing machine portal tbh
I went during my trip to New Mexico and I thought it was shit. Dark and crowded.
@@cyprus9624 well if you ever get to go again, they have adult only nights where there aren''t kids running around. its definitely a worthy experience when you get the space to enjoy it
Yeah I live in nm and it's a really fun place I've been a bunch of times
Good to know! I was wondering how they'd squeezed a set like that into their production budget.
Legend has it, if you watch this five times in a row, twice a day, your depression will be cured
M KZ I only need to listen to it once for my depression to be cured
Only if you watch the latest Andrew wk videos as well. Specifically music is work living for and you're not alone.
It really works
his voice calls me so it cured my depression
1. Love the new Sexbang Suit and hope it'll return.
2. EYEBROWS.
3. Magnificent set. Really into it.
4. Excellent personality. Everybody got some fun spotlight that fit in well with the chill of the song. Glad to see more camera goofing from TWRP and Brian.
RMD Cade that's not a set that's a real place you can go to right now in New Mexico called Meow Wolf
@@collectedcrows4034 Okay thanks packing all my belongings and going to live there permanently now~
All my thoughts right here ^ that suit looks awesome I want to see more of that one. Shit I want one. Too bad I'm not sexbangy enough to wear it anyway 😔
RMD Cade What you said! Yes!
RMD Cade we all have the right amount of sexbang in each of us. Not to mirror another’s but make it our own sexiness - Albert Finestein
You can actually visit where they shot this fairly priced. They essentially have like hidden doors in like washing machines and the fridge etc and each one takes you to like a different area. Like an 80's retro cartoon set etc. As stated in the description the place is called Meow Wolf in Sana Fe. I'd say visit the place at least once in your lifetime. Its pretty dang neat If I do say so myself. Not sure if prices increased since I went since I went before the media really caught wind of it.
Tickets at $25 for adults, $23 for seniors/military, and $19 for kids. (Unless you live in the state, then you have a discount.) Adding that to the bucket list!
Wait where is this

That’s really impressive, Dan really did show that persistence is important to succeed
IKR
I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in twelve-thirty flight
Her moonlit wings reflect the stars
That guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say
"Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"
Gonna to take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I'll bless the rains down in Africa
Going to take some time to do the things we never had
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside
Frightened of this thing that I've become
Gonna to take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I'll bless the rains down in Africa
Going to take some time to do the things we never had
Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you
Gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I'll bless the rains down in Africa
I'll bless the rains down in Africa (I'll bless the rains)
I'll bless the rains down in Africa (I'll bless the rains)
I'll bless the rains down in Africa
I'll bless the rains down in Africa (going take some)
Going take some time to do the things we never had
Let's try our best to make this beautiful shit trending SHARE IT BOYS
If the thumbnail alone isn't enough for UA-cam to put it on Trending I don't know what is...
shared on all outlets, and this shits on repeat baby!
I'm surprised at how close this actually sounds to the original
Raging Alpaca yeah same, better than weezer
Weezer did a good one to
Danny can not hit Kimbal’s range. That’s the only thing stopping this from being on par with the original. For me at least anyway.
@@GuardedFox Agreed - normally it feels like Danny adds vocal depth to a cover, but in this one, as much as I love it, it feels like a layer was stripped away.
Lol everyone can do the same like the original, wha's so surprising about it?
Thank you Danny, very cool!
A song that makes me stop. Laugh, cry and smile. It's the 80's rolled into a bun. It strikes a chord. I loved seeing you guys in Edinburgh and I can't wait to see you again !
Brian the last one without shoulder pads.
Danny's jacket is amazing. Tucker Directed.
Meouch RIghtful king of Narnia confirmed.
Actionfigures when.
I swear we really need some NSP/TWRP action figures already
i neeeeed it
YES
And when you take off the headwear of any TWRP member there's just another, identical hat mask helmet underneath.
@@aortaplatinum and ninja brian is autonomous. He hides whenever you're not looking
I'd buy them all
“I was singing Africa before it was cool.” -Leigh-Daniel Avidan
Africa was always cool
Yeah, he added *so much* to the song. Honestly, if you *genuinely* love this, but didn't even like the original you're full of shit. Even if you argue his cover was better than the original, it sounds marginally different. This isn't Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" FFS.
Uh Huh you ok?
@@12heavyweaponsguy Yeah....Why wouldn't I be? I'm simply pointing out the dumbness of a comment. Are you okay?
@@uhhuh9804 Is your default setting asshole or something?
God damn Danny's harmonies are like pure velvet on this one. So great!
What have you done Daniel?
Your voice blessed the rains too much and flooded an entire continent
it flooded my pants
These covers are amazing. Keep up the amazing work guys.
They live in the fridge because they're the Cool Patrol.
i....... I'm gonna just slow clap it out
Huh neat
Gro Skunk Ayeeeeeee
So fu**ing impressive. The amount of talent in this one video is astounding.
God damn, Tucker! You directed an amazing music video. Is there anything you can't do???
Ikr, hes a very talented individual!
Finally! I'm so glad they made a music video on this song, it was easily my favorite and I was kinda disappointed when they didn't release it to youtube when it first came out.
Same
We didn't deserve this but we got it anyways.
Agreed
OKAY HOLY SHIT
I'VE BEEN TO THE PLACE THEY FILMED THIS AND NOW I'M FLIPPING OUT
this just made my day THANK YOU NSP
TWO OF MY FAVORITE THINGS IN ONE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I'M SO HAPPY
0:24 - 0:27 i do not know why, but i like this shot the most
Ditto
Reminds me of walking out of the locker room with the football team before a game.
I literally checked the comments to see if I was the only one omg I kept rewatching it
It's the color, man.
the one of Danny at 4:19 where the camera is backing up is my favorite shot cause it fits the mood so perfectly and I wish it lasted like 5 more seconds
The Grump's offices final form
Tassie Bloom is that the grump office??

I missed this but Sad Arin led me here and I was so surprised yay
The Expert Dual Duelist same here, it's terrible that so many people bogged this awesome music video with "where's ghoul grumps" just enjoy the tastiness that is nsp lovelies!
Sad Arin led me here too, just so I can tell Danny to not give a fuck and keep making awesome content with is biggest big buddy.
I hate seeing Arin sad
I watched this when it dropped, but sad Arin made me want to watch it again, its a shame people posted Ghoul Grumps stuff here. I understand, Yes Dan is a Grump, but NSP has really nothing to do with GG so why? Just baffles me
I can’t see any of the comments
I see the fridge was inspired by the escape room
The direction for this was made by Tucker... so probably yeah.. it was that.
Bump this if Nsp should do a cover of Don’t stop me now... you know... by queen
YES PLEASE.
Why has this not happened yet?
They should do either "Bicycle" or "Bohemian Rhapsody"
I'd love to hear then cover any Queen songs! Princes of the Universe, Flash, The Show Must Go On!
I think Danny's vocals are better suited to killer queen Tbh
Forget the TARDIS, the wardrobe to Narnia, and the rabbit hole to Wonderland. I rather go through the fridge to NSP Africa
That is not actually Africa... Danny and Brian just REALLY need to clean out their fridge. I mean... how long has that casserole been in there?
Just so you know dude, this is Meow Wolf is Santa Fe New Mexico
SAME HERE!
Agreed
Holy fuck yes
you guys should cover hotel california by the eagles!! i would kill to hear that
Bruh that 3 minute solo would be so fucking lit I can feel it
Same
that would be the best thing
Or a Steely Dan song
I'd make a ritual sacrifice for that
i saw this last year when they posted it. if i didnt know Dan was singing this i swear i was listening to Toto. now everytime i hear it on the radio i think its Dan singing. Awesome job on this. Love it! you totally nailed it!
