They can absolutely consent to hormone therapy, we've been doing that since forever for medical and health reasons. Usually to delay puberty. It's not exactly the right thing to "leave the kids alone" when they have an actual problem that needs solving. Letting a kid die of cancer, is for example not actually a good call, despite having to do some pretty bad shit as a result, I mean radiation, and invasive surgeries ? That's horrible but you gotta do them anyway. Of course, This case is nowhere near as severe. In cases of trans children - hormone therapy as such is perfectly justified. It has no long-term effects, you can just get off it and you'll have a delayed puberty but that's it pretty much. It's a mental health hazard to leave it untreated entirely, and the process for it is incredibly strict, so cases of abuse and oversteps are wildly rare(Though they still occur, as they do with everything else.). Surgery and such should and in the overwhelming majority of cases is done during adulthood. A trans kid cannot get surgery, consent there is not even a relevant factor since that just doesn't fly, and we've been doing hormone therapy on children for decades, before anyone even knew what the word trans meant, and funny enough for the exact same reason quite often. Namely to delay their puberties which especially for girls can come too early to my understanding.

They can absolutely consent to hormone therapy, we've been doing that since forever for medical and health reasons. Usually to delay puberty. It's not exactly the right thing to "leave the kids alone" when they have an actual problem that needs solving. Letting a kid die of cancer, is for example not actually a good call, despite having to do some pretty bad shit as a result, I mean radiation, and invasive surgeries ? That's horrible but you gotta do them anyway. Of course, This case is nowhere near as severe.
In cases of trans children - hormone therapy as such is perfectly justified. It has no long-term effects, you can just get off it and you'll have a delayed puberty but that's it pretty much. It's a mental health hazard to leave it untreated entirely, and the process for it is incredibly strict, so cases of abuse and oversteps are wildly rare(Though they still occur, as they do with everything else.). Surgery and such should and in the overwhelming majority of cases is done during adulthood. It has one of the like most wildly high happiness ratings post transition, It is legitimately above 99% by a solid margin.
There's no wedge or point to attack this from.
