This is true for me too. Most of my goals come from hitting the post. I can hit the post with 100% accuracy so I go for the post all the time if I'm not going to pass it to the wing for a header. That's what I'd suggest. Choose Box overload (press down on the D pad so BO is highlighted) pass it to the wing and press L1, then cross it with SQUARE, use about 33-40% power. When the ball is in the air just start tapping CIRCLE, you'll head it in. That's the best way to score on free kicks.
I nominate UEFA CL 2004-05 (though it's probably the same as FIFA 2005)... It allows you to aim at the exact spot you want to hit, and if you hit the power just right, it doesn't matter if it's driven or curved - you'll hit it (unless you choose a spot to close to the keeper or the woodwork).
Oh, I've had some wicked sick goals but I've done them all on the Amateur rating. Ever since I went to professional I have yet to score from outside the penalty area. Even with free kicks I don't score that often. I suggest only going for goal if the wall is on or in the penalty area
umm.. the blue indicator has nothing to do with that where the ball is going to end up, it's just pointing the player you're controlling at the moment. so like, for example, at 1:04 you're controlling Beckham, who's taking the freekick. this indicator changes place (for example in 1:13), it goes above Owen, because you're controlling him at the moment. so what i'm saying is that it just really shows you your players, not where you're aiming or anything like that. sorry, i just had to say this.
I normally hold left trigger on xbox and aim for top corner works most time with good player like becks or gerrard. o'brian of "fc Dallas" (mls league) is pretty accurate
@JacksAss10 im pretty sure he knows that, its just a good way of telling where the ball is, u could be creative like him and use the l ittle blue arrow to use it 4 an aiming thingie

hier mal ein Tip zu dem freistoss bei 38,7m man mus hier nur einmal R2 drücken und eine wenig runter zielen und schon geht der ball an die latte und ins tor :P und bei 36m muss ma ganz hoch zielen, mim linken stick einstück rüber und dann ein Drittel schiesen, aba imma L1 Halten^^
