Thank you for the detailled analysis. I do however need some help here. At 03:56 we can see that downwind the Eagle 600 is both faster and achieves a higher angle than the Eagle 690. How come that this results in a higher VMG for the Eagle 690?
Great video and analysis Lachie! I've not seen foils compared like this before and I loved it! Keep up the good work. I miss riding F-One foils 😔, they produce great gear.
Did you try them all on the stock stabs? Wonder how well you can finetune your needs further to influence the final score. E.g. x600 paired with a 141w to improve turning, or pairing the Sk8 with the DW145 for more glide...
@@strekke1986 yep! And played with some combos, especially on the sk8 and eagle. Just need to get some combos on the eagle x and should be able to put a video together on it 🤙
@@WolfFoilParosGreece for free ride, I'd recommended the sk8. As you can catch the wind chop to get on foil you won't miss the better low end of the eagle or eagle X. You can also think about going a longer mast for chop. I use the 105 mast because it's almost always choppy where I am and it allows me to push even in the big chop
Hey Lachie, I love my Sk8 850 for fun fast cruising around Moreton Bay. After this video, I purchased a Sk8 550. At 72kg, what monobloc do you recommend for fast, pitch-stable runs on reasonably flat water - xs 141 w or ???
@@mikeymaguire100141W XS gave me very comparable pitch stability to the DW190 and DW145. It was slightly slower than the DW145 but it makes the roll axis so playful! Really fun tail wing! If you want something that feels more locked in on the roll axis, then give the DW145 a go
@@LachieWhitethanks for the recommendation; was torn between the two. As my Sk8 850/xxxs180 is my daily driver, and the 550 is for drag racing (gps) my mates, I’ve just ordered the dw 145. Cheers.
Thanks!! Then definitely the sk8 or the eagle - I feel that the eagle X takes away some of the thrill for winging. It's so stable and has wild low end but at the cost of muting the carving ability.

Lower angle is better in this case. So 46.5 is worse than 45. The angle is the heading relative to going directly downwind

@@hydrofoilacademy thanks mate!! It is top notch stuff. Especially the foils
Great video! I might have missed it. What units are your speeds? Knots?
@@DaveSails7 yep, speed in knots 👍
great video mate

@paulh.327 I'll get something together 🤙
love your videos
+1 for tails! 3 video ideas for you right there, deep dive on each foil with a few different stabs
@@jakobisking thanks legend!! Definitely next on the cards after the comments 😅
Nice analysis, Lachie...! What would be your preference for the moderate Mediterranean swell and for choppy conditions...?

my favorite f-one foil is the sk8 650. i wish there was an eagle 590, though. thank you, my kind of video...
100% agreed on the eagle 590. Appreciate the comment, thanks legend!
Thanks for doing the comparisons for the F one front wings. It would be great if you can do it for F one tail wings as well
