2:52 It's convenient to put a little bit of grease between the tire and the mounting surface of the brake so you'll get them off easy next time you change the brakes (No rust)
People are going to shill for poly bushings, but trust me, OEM is best. The engineers knew what they were doing when they designed the car and poly introduces an incredible amount of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) and doesn't really improve handling vs just adding bilstein shocks.
Very interesting indeed. At some point I will need to do this to my 1990 Volvo. So far, though, at 600,000 km and 31 years, the underside is looking good. Oil spray does keep rust away, but I know the bushings will need attention eventually.
The dog bones getting replaced makes a huge difference. The body bushings need to be done on my car, its a pain but there is special tool you can you use to push out the old (E24 differs from E28 i think, you usually press them out through the body). Replace the driveshaft guibo while you are there, common failure point and easy to do while you have it so far apart. You can also upgrade that diff depending on what you have right now. I bought a 3.46LSD for my car, only to find out it already had the same diff.
Absoluut waar! EN als je een slagmoersleutel gebruikt moet de rest van de gereedschappen tegen de klappen van deze slagmoersleutel bestand zijn. Dit om het risico op (aanvankelijk) onzichtbare haarscheuren te voorkomen.
Great video Memphis! Every time you upload you keep me inspired to work on my mk1 Golf. I now have her running perfectly smooth and was able to survive a 80km drive! Thank you for your inspiration to everyone. Keep up the great work. I hope one day your channel will grow to 1 million subscribers, you deserve it! Thanks and love from Australia 🇦🇺
I just finished the restoration of the subframe on my 84 528e last week after waiting 3 months for my poly bushings to come in. If you can I would recommend picking up a can of Steel-it. It goes on really nice.
Hi Memphis keep going with the good work one the bmw I like when I see how someone still have love for older cars.I have Toyota Avensis mk1 it's my first car. It's starting to have some rust issues on the rear wheel arch but I don't give up on her I will fix the problem and have a good memories with her.
Take a look for the Steering Rack Support on the Subframe. Sometimes they rip apart. Youll find some abaout if you look for Steering Subframe Reinforcement. Greetings from Munich, Dominik
Great video, also there are bushing/bearing pullers if you don't want to buy an hydraulic press. Bought myself a universal set at a local store about a year ago, has worked well the few times i've used it.
I would invest in some poliurethane bushings, considering low quality of todays replacement parts. Sand blasting, then epoxy 2K primer and powder coating is the best protection method for those parts ;) Also if you remove your front subframe you can support your engine on jacks or just axle stands, take off the oil pan and have a closer look at the main and rod bearings ;) If i did it on my s4 c4 maybe i shouldn't be doing the engine repair now... throw a bearing with no warning... Really like your content ;) Dimitri is now looking really good ;)
Dude, I would up grade the bushes with some poly ones.... More vids like would be great. It was good to see the E28 again. I love old bmw's they have a character 😁
@@Astra8676 They dont work the same way as a normal bushing , they are waaay too stiff , especially for an old and rusted car like this , it would just kill the frame.
Hehe , you need a name of that old knight . And thumbs up for the music 👌🏼 but by far Arnold should have been the thumbnail lol. Jokes aside, good job bro 👊🏼
Hey Memphis, love your videos. good for a novice like myself. I'm beginning a restore of an '88 535i starting from the back. there is a blue kinda rigid line running along the trailing arm going into the hub/brake assembly. can you tell me what it is and best way to remove it to drop the trailing arm? also, can't seem to get the half shaft allen bolts to break loose. any help is greatly appreciated
Hi, Don’t support your car on the front frame rails, these are not lifting points and you will damage them. Use the side sills to support it using some thick rubber. It’s not great but better then the frame rails. If you’re just lifting the front from the ground, put Axle stands under your towing hook and adjacent side. If you just want to lift the back from the ground, put a Hydraulic Jack under the rear differential then lower the Car onto Jack Stands under the rear sills.
Excellent video! Thank you! Just a small question. If you live near Germany why don't you guys use some proper German tools like Bosch instead of shitty makita?
The Audi 100 looks really great with the new rims and lights !

Got a car lift before getting an impact 😂. Those are workshop goals. Great video once again.
and he was also talking about a hydraulic press😂
The E28 actually doesn't look that bad given its age. The Audi's new look is sick tho
this is proper resto - hats off for doing a proper job
Need more vids with dimitri, I have two Audi 100's and love seeing them being shown off. Keep up the good work!
E28s are gorgeous yokes. Love these videos
Liked even before watching the vid. I just know it's gonna be a good one.

Fine job for all those rusty parts, lets see how things are going to unfold and how fixes will change the look and performance of the audi

It would be a great opportunity to fit bigger anti roll bars with everything removed..
Man you dont mess around.. do you think tipo would share the specs of the wheels he mounted to the audi? They look perfect!

Are polly bushes legal for belgian inspection services?
Zou je niet alle geroeste onderdelen zandstralen en dan opnieuw spuiten dan ziet het er heel proper uit
Buy sand blaster machine...and hydrolic press...😀
