  • The leather interior in a car often gets neglected and very dirty, especially if you have a light leather interior. My 1991 Daimler XJ40 that I recently purchased has one of the dirtiest leather interiors I've seen in a while. In this video I will show you my tips and tricks for leather interior cleaning and conditioning.

    Very nice result! Especially the conditioner does an amazing job. 👍🏻
    Just a little tip from an extremely high mileage x350 Super V8 LWB owner;
    I found that cleaning the interior (including leather seats) works VERY well with a ‘miracle sponge’. Those are the white sponges made of melamine foam. I am aware they are somewhat abrasive, but with the use of a little (soapy) water they work miracles on any dirt!
    Good luck with your channel and I am looking forward to the next video... 🤗

      Those sponges are great! I haven’t tried them on leather but mostly on vinyl and interior plastics. Thanks for the tip!

    Excellent video and key tips. I'm on the verge of cleaning and upholster my beige leather seat on my mid 90's Cadillac Coupe ELDorado. BTW, the Daimler XJ series is my top 3 dream car I would like to own as far as import auto's are concern and enjoy your videos to the max.

    Yes please do make that re-colouring of the leather video! This video was very therapeutic btw. I sometimes use a magic sponge on my steering wheel because it's cream leather and get greasy but after using the sponge it really is like new.

      I’ll have to try the magic sponge on leather. I’ve only used it on vinyl and plastics before.

      There’s a difference between actual dye and paint. Paint will generally flake off and cover grain patterns. True dye will just soak in.

    Hi Adam. That sponge sounded like '40 ' grit sandpaper! I'm sure that was just a sensitive mic' !. Love your patience., not too many out there would share the same dedication. I think you would agree that the previous owner was no heavy weight as the seat is in sound condition. This is a great colour combination with the B.R.G. exterior and this cream contrast.

      Thank you John! It's nice to find others with the same dedication. It did sound loud on camera!
      The interior has amazingly little amount of wear for almost 30 years and 220,000 km

    I'd like to see the carpets and headliner when you get a chance. I've got a few stains on the front floor that are partially hidden by the mats. But, I want to get those detailed.

      I've been using something called "Resolve". It's a State-side carpet cleaner. Maybe I'm just not dousing it on fibers enough.

    Use Gliptone Scuff master dyes for the recolouring. Dont bother with anything else on the market
