    Just got these yesterday, and they are incredible. The weight distribution is amazing, they feel durable, they are super bright, and the modes all look fantastic. I'm so excited to have these, thanks flowtoys for all of your hard work. I didn't see any videos with all of the light modes, and I hope this gives you a good idea. Two of the modes didn't show up well on the camera, so I cut them out. Keep in mind these are all set at default, most of the modes you can adjust the color, brightness, or strobe timing. All of the patterns are (obviously) clearer and even more beautiful in person. Let me know if you have any questions about podpoi, if there is anything else you want to see or know about them, and what you think about the video!
    EDIT - We mislabeled one of the modes. What we have labeled as "Microdots" is actually called "Petals". Sorry for the mix up!
    Thanks!

    Your customer service has been incredible!! Such a wonderful product, and if something ever goes wrong again with my podpoi, I can count on you guys time and time again. Seriously, 2 days I need a fixed battery for the new capsule. Just outstanding. So I applaud you, flowtoys for being awesome.

    thank you so much for doing this Nico - we will put out a modes video at some point, but have to focus on getting more podpoi ;) we watched it from beginning to end and noticed that petals was labeled as microdots. no need to change, but if you want to make an annotation that would be nice. keep being awesome!

    Thanks, man, this video definitely just sold me on Pod Poi, disposable income be damned.
    I also really liked how you saved your best moves for last. When I started, I kind of thought: "damn, six minutes of some amateur doing three beat weave," but then you broke out some really awesome flowers.
    It was great, major kudos to you.

    hey man,
    I want to say something, and it is not disregarding your comment. I really do appreciate the love. But one thing you should always remember... Poi is not about the level of skill one has. Sure, it has appeal and you always want to improve. But everyone learns at their own pace. We are equally as good because we are equally in love with poi. Plain and simple. When practicing or watching others, it is awesome to see the different styles, but we are equal. :) Much love brotha, keep flowin

    Rice filled socks are the best practice dummy. You can hit yourself and no pain. All the crystal and flowlight poi hurt like hell. Podpoi are genius in that they are silicon and very very giving when you hit yourself. They make a little "plop" noise when you hit them. It is a solid design. Glad you are practicing. :)

    DUDE! First of all, thank you so much for making this. I was deliberating on buying a pair of these and you really helped me in making that decision.
    Secondly, YOU LOOK SO GOOD. Really natural, it's clear that you're really getting the hang of dancing it out with these guys, especially in around 2:10. Mad respect, I'm tryna get on your level some day soon!

      +DaimyoD0 I am glad our video could help! We wanted to see a video that went through every mode, highlighting what it looked like, and couldn't find any. We decided to take it into our own hands, and the video has been completely successful in aiding spinners such as yourself to make the hard (but easy) choice to owning a pair. Thank you thank you! I practice quite often, but I am still learning. I don't have many videos on my page, but there are some that are a little more closer to my level these days.

  • @nicosartcorner

    It is an added feature podpoi come with. It is quite fantastic. So when you select the light mode you want, hold teh button like you are turning it off, except, instead of letting the podpoi flash twice, only let them flash once. The podpoi then begin to run through the many different lighting possibilities. Pink flame, purple, blue, green, etc. It is a lot of fun to play with the lighting differences. :)

    Poi is a blast, and yes I'd recommend Podpoi for any level of spinner honestly, but they are great for beginners specifically because they just dont hurt when you, inevitably, hit yourself. And yes I agree, they are quite beautiful, and feel amazing to spin. So yeah if you are looking to get into poi, and want to start with a set of LED poi, then yes, it would be wise to get a pair. If you don't need glow poi right away, you can make your own practice set for pretty cheap as well. :)

    Thanks for posting this... I'm thinking about getting these. I was looking at the crystal-shaped poi at first but they're a single color/pattern... I LOVE the teardrop shape and the podpoi are like getting every color/pattern in one! I haven't practiced w/ poi too much but have spent a lot of time working on mini/twin hooping... a lot of mini and twin hoop moves correlate. My friend gave me a pair of practice poi made of rice-filled socks but I've been wanting something fancier :)

    I do understand your points, and I think that as an experienced spinner, you would agree that it is easier to tell who is just beginning and who has spun for a good amount of time. I do practice nearly every day, and I do have a new video coming out soon! I'd love to share that with you so you can see my progress as a spinner, but again, I do not think one is better than another, just aged well, like wine. ;)

    I appreciate your comment. I do agree on to some level but not completely. What I mean is I see a lot of the same moves and techniques but that being said you can be a little better than me. For instance we both do isolation's but yours are a little cleaner and smoother than mine. You had some great linear extensions too and I'm just starting those as of last weekend but you pick up on them pretty quick. Unlike the almost three years it took my to get down a good orbital. lol

    I do have the older px3 knobs on mine, I think they are a bit different now (called Pomgrips). Overall I really enjoy using handles on my poi, but I haven't used the pomgrips personally, though I'm sure they are a fairly standard, high quality handle. Whether to use handles or not, that is mostly a preference thing. I enjoy them.

    hahaha! Well, thank you. We are going to put another video together when the weather actually gets above 15 degrees..... More close to 40 so we can spin outside, Spinning indoors is awesome if you have the ceiling height for it, but I'm 6'5", My arm extends three feet, making my wrist height almost ten feet, then you need to add another 2 feet for the poi when they are fully extended with my arms. It's insane. One friend of mine told me that it's awesome when I spin because everything is huge.ha

    angel - after you scroll through your presets, the poi should shut off. Turn them on again, and they should start from the beginning, scroll through the colors until you hit the strobe. Hit the button one more time. This setting is your preset nocturnal modes. Hold the button until it flashes once. it should now roll through 10 different settings of light mode. Unicorn, flare up, solar flare, watermelon, freedom, petals, and several other interesting ones are all in there. Does that help?

    @8plait 8 років тому

    Great flow and thanks for taking the time to make a video. A quick question, is there a setting to have these change mode whilst spinning?

    • @nicosartcorner
      @nicosartcorner 8 років тому

      +8plait Yes! It is found in your favorites. Your "favorites" only stores the previous 10 modes. In order to save a mode, you must cycle through to a mode of your choosing, then turn off the poi. Once you turn the poi back on, it should be on the mode you left off from. This will count towards one of your temporary saved favorites. So if you pick ten modes you would like to cycle through while spinning, this is how you'd do it. On, off, on, off, etc.
      To get access to favorites, simply turn your on and cycle until off, then turn on again and it should be the first mode. Cycle through your modes until you pass the presets. The next mode is your favorites. Once here, hold the button down just like you would if you trying to gain access to other color/pattern modes. Once the poi begin cycling through your favorites, you can spin them and the kinetic awareness will "select" or let you spin with that mode until you stall or pendulum. The modes will cycle as you spin. I hope this helps, it is a bit lengthy! Cheers! Let me know if you need clarification.

    • @8plait
      @8plait 8 років тому

      No thats pretty clear, thankyou. I love the idea of the flowtoys system, Im actually gonna get a set of their isolation batons but I'll get the bits for a set of pods at the same time. I was impressed by him smacking them off the ground in the sales video, you dont see that from anyone else.

    • @nicosartcorner
      @nicosartcorner 8 років тому

      Hah, when people ask about their durability, I immediately swing them against the cement as hard as I can. It's fun to watch their reaction when the poi continue to work. It's a great product. Cheers, and thanks for getting back to me. Let me know if you run into any snags. :)
