It wasn't about the fire sprinklers you missed out on, it said the fire alarms, all those rooms had no alarms so if a fire happened there would be no warning siren going off in much of the building. That is why you had so many violations
@@ConflictNerd how long have you been playing this game again?! XD i just came to the comments to see if you finaly found out. But tbh, I didn't know the overview that shows you the red and green rooms. will be very usefull the next time the inspector tells me there is one room missing. :D
That was added recently, I think in response to something Quill18 said during his last play through. But the funny thing to me is what happened has nothing to do with knowing the game. He literally says the words "fire alarm" and immediately starts talking about "sprinklers"! 🤣@@luschmiedt1071
what i did was put courier parking outside those garage door things so they could reach everything quicker. edit: you need fire alarms in those rooms, not more sprinklers! 34:08
Just started the video and came here just for the parking thing. "I like to think they'd back up and just load the van, but they don't..." Yes, yes they do if you use parking lot and set it to deliveries. 😆
Have the inlet into where the pallets are be a parking spot for couriers. Then its like trucks backing up and loading wares in directly (and saving walking time for couriers). In fact, to save on parking spaces you can time the arrival time of a courier to when the previous ones leave to have a constant stream. Its what I usually do. If I get a huge production line I integrate the factory with a parking spots along entrances with storage pallets on the other side. I once even made a multi story parking garage with pallet storage on each floor so each courier had direct access.
It would be cool if you staggered your teams and had a 24/7 operation even if it was just a couple teams like support but i feel like you would enjoy having people around the clock in moments you need to crunch! I also think it would help prevent traffic jams entering and exiting the building/ break room if you staggered your staff they would not be so hungry if they went on lunch at different times!
When you posted the notices about the pre-recorded videos and it showed a custom office build I was curious just how big a fine the Fire Marshall would be handing to you this time. Honestly that's not bad considering some of theones you've had before.
If you use parking lots instead of a road for the entry of your printing it will look like they park ride at the door. You have to choose the correct parking layout, horizontal or vertical.
when i saw you building your own office the first thing i thought was "i bet he forgets about sprinklers and fire alarms" ;p the fire inspector warning was about a lack of smoke alarms not sprinklers.
Still in the speed build portion of the video, but as someone who's been playing The Sims for 20 years now & who primarily builds in the games, hearing that iconic Sims 1 music & seeing the fun build tools in this has made me _really_ wish there was a "Software Inc Building Simulator" or something where I could just go to build office spaces in the game without having to make money beforehand! 😂 (coming from someone who hasn't played Software Inc before, so if there _is_ a sandbox mode that allows this, I had no idea) Ok just finished the video & can I just say, I actually freaking LOVE how the building turned out!
For me to build is the worst part of this game. I've played dozens of playtroughs and all of them end around 1990-1995 because my company became too big and I have to move out of rented building and build my own. It's just so tedious to place all these little lamps, desks and chairs while trying to fit certain amount of team members inside room at the same time. There are building blueprints on steam but even best buildings I've found are semi-functional at best and take a lot of time to fix all shortcomings. So I hope someday you will start playing this game and eventually build perfect ideal building and put it's blueprint on steam 😂
@@dogeatsthesun908 Interesting, building is the best part of the game for me and is where I've spent most my time, but I also find it tedious sometimes XD
Watching this made me realise that one indie developer made a better build mode than the sims team, and added way more options and depth, Coredumping, I would absolutely love a software inc style house builder game!!
Might be worth looking at when your staff can take vacation, the issues with ‘Support’ always come July & August when all your employees have to take leave.
Looks like he's gotten better with the market analysis! Now he just needs to remember to choose features that increase the areas the market wants, rather than guessing based on wasted interest, which doesn't actually tell you which of the three areas is being wasted in 👍
Hosting deals still exist in the game, my current save has me making around 10 mill a month of server deals alone which is more than enough to allow me to fund everything in between the time where a software falls off and the next release comes out.
I really hope you see this or one of the others when you get back, but you can have vans back up to the garages to pick up product; it's literally the point of them. But they don't pull into the garage. You have to build a parking spot next to the garage and set it to deliveries only. Then they'll park there and have a very short distance to walk. But also here's something to look out for: Be careful building pallets. There are situations where a courier decides they can't pick up from the garage, and if there's a box on a pallet inside, they'll path through it, take a long path through your building only to get there to find the box has moved on and then walk all the way back to the van. In bad cases, multiple couriers can do this. It's better to either block pallets so they can't be reached or have them close to an entrance near the garages to minimize the courier's path. One more thing is that if there are no boxes to pick up, couriers will find a seat anywhere which again means another long walk into your building to find an open seat. They will not abort this walk if a box shows up. So I've taken to make a small cubby near the garages with seating to again minimize the distance.
My humble opinion. I believe the front parking you created with the park space would be ideal for guest parking. The other square plot you were thinking about would be ideal for overflow delivery vehicles. Then in front of the printing room or “docks” you could place a parking space there also for deliveries. That way you can see the delivery van and courier utilizing the space for its intended purpose.
I have noticed lately it keeps on doing it for me (other poster it's already set to use highest quality) 720p or what ever is one below the highest has a tendency to default on witch is anoying (it should be based on buffer, if it can't keep the buffer filled it should lower quality if it can switch to higher) second annoying issue is it keeps on making the video dark even thought I don't have a menu open (the previous video / pause-play / next video, or typing a reply) i have to restart UA-cam just to make the video play at normal brightness
Hey, so there is a perfect mod for you in the workshop for the lights, it's not a cheat mod but allows you to place floor lights basically anywhere without any restrictions on access. They still consume electricity and stuff. I think it even has your name in the mod. Probably might be something you wanna look into.
You know, when you run out of space for awards, try making a spot for them at the entrance and put the awards that slows accumulations of dirt there. Its a hotspot for dirt where everyone walks in, so it should have a larger effect I am guessing.
you can swap that road out thats by the delivery point to parking and set it to deliveries only so your courriers come right to your drop off point it doesnt look as clean as you have it but its a solution
I think you might be misunderstanding how market analysis works (unless I'm misunderstanding it). To start with, don't select any feature. Then when you apply the Market Analysis Suggested Target, you need to add features to fill up the bars until they hit the line.
