    What a fab set of videos. I purchased this Warco model last Feb and looked everywhere for an expert video like this. Very happy with mine.....I play every week. Have ditched the guard added DROs and currently making an auto bed feed......great little machine from Warco, good price too.

    I purchased a WM16 about 18 months ago. It appears the belt drive is much quieter than mine with a gear drive. Also noticed oiling points that are not on mine. So far my machine performs well providing you treat it with respect. I have DRO’s fitted that will limit the amount of cross feed but really are worth fitting.

    Great stuff Ade. I had the Optimum BF20L until last year - which looks identical except for the belt drive and brushless motor. First big project on my mill was to build my own belt drive modification. It's a great mill. I made up a brass spacer to go at the rear end of the quill fine-feed, because it had a lot of axial slop. Doing that removed almost all of the backlash in the fine feed worm mechanism. Yours may not have any play there, but if it does, that's a good way of fixing it. Email me if you'd like any more info!
    I did not have much luck running a 50mm face mill on mine, it was good on aluminium, but some of the mystery steel I have was a little too much for it, even with fine cuts. Knowing my luck it was cro-moly or something silly. With leaded or mild steel it could well work perfectly.
    Cheers, Craig

    I have that same mill which is a Precision Matthews brand , mine is an older model and only has one bolt to hold the head , having the three bolts will save you alot of trouble as the one bolt does not always hold tightly and the head will move .

Bought some a while ago run of 12v and are very bright, they have a sticky back, routed a groove in some oak and just hung from the garage ceiling where needed. Can't wait to see your mill vids, first thing I made was some T nuts and an adjustable stop for the X axis. TFS, G :)

    Hi ade. Great video on the mill. Do you think this mill will be big enough to fit an average size car cylinder head on the skim the surface? Trying to decide wether or not to go for the 16b or 18b. Many thanks

    • @ade63dug
      @ade63dug  3 роки тому

      It is difficult to say . Cylinder heads would probably be best to fly cut the surface . You would need to look at the table travel required based on the fly cutter diameter needed to pass across the width of the head and remembering that the cutter would need to pass off the surface. easy way to work out is to add the width to the length and maybe add 25mm. Cheers Ade.

    Hi Ade - I'm just admiring your parallels from Amadeal. You say 150 x 10 but I can only find 120 x 10 on the Amadeal site (which would suit me fine). Also their description doesn't mean a lot to me : 14-32 by 2mm & 35mm & 40mm
    Do you know if you purchased AMA-AC-637-7962TD and are you happy with them?
    BTW - very informative video. Are you happy with your new mill?

      Hi , Andrew good to hear from you . I must be losing it somewhere as I cant even remember where I got them from . The set is all 10mm the smallest are 10x10x150mm up to 10x42x150 mm 12 pairs in all . With hind sight I should have looked for some thinner ones , Maybe 5mm thick and perhaps 100mm long as i am typically using a 75mm wide vise. Happy with them though . So far so good with the mill. DRO is long finished . Power feed on the x axis is In my line of sight now. My Wife is a Yorkshire Lass . A bit like Wales. Mines,Sheep, rain and mountains. .Cheers Ade.

    wat i usually do to dismount and remount the head is turn the head over toward the switchpannel , that way its a lot less topheavy and has a wider base to lay on and you can reach the nuts in from the side while its still on the table
    at first it looked like the mill i had but it seems to have a lot bigger motor on it

    Ade, I have what seems to be the same Mill here in the United States only mine is labeled Precision Matthews. In all of my browsing UA-cam I'm seeing various iterations of this particular type Mill this is the second time that I've seen a situation or at least what appears to be a situation where this Mill does not stop running when you turn the variable speed RPM all the way to the left something is wrong with this this is not correct and this needs to be repaired this mill should be able to stop mine certainly does
