She takes the crowd to church during this song especially at the end how she added that whole "Ohhh Ohhh" and has the crowd sing with her. Ahhh I love her so much thank you for sharing!
Don't know what it's all about But every time I look around All I see is how we're holdin' on Don't ask me what's wrong or right I don't even know the time All I know is I'm holdin' on I haven't figured anything out I haven't figured anything, anything, anything out City dove, fly between the buildings and fences Soft inside but rough on the edges Waiting here for something to come just holdin' on, oh oh City dove, fly between the stars and the headlights Passin' by the clouds and the street signs Knowing that there's something to come, just holdin' on I don't really know my fate I just know I'm on my way There will be mistakes movin' on I try to get to the heart of it Fly low but lookin' for Heaven I know, I know I'm holding on I won't…
People wonder why her music isn’t popular. Her inclusion of religion and religious themes is why. Her voice is so pure and wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but if your music is religious you won’t be popular in the mainstream. People don’t always want to listen to religious music. I know I don’t, and that it straight out makes me uncomfortable. There’s a reason Brooke Fraser never make it mainstream, and Tori is going to end up pretty much the same.
Dakota Niswonge not quite agree with you there . She’s already mainstream and her songs are not religious . Religious is who she is as a person not her as a musician
I don't really agree with this. While, yes, people tend to stir away from religious-themed music, that doesn't stop a song from becoming mainstream. Tori Kelly's most popular songs are from her gospel album (she won 2 Grammys for it.) Tori's music doesn't rise to the top of the charts because of her lack of a "rebellious spirit." Her music might be incredibly well arranged and her vocals beautiful, but she doesn't have edge, newness and an unconventional feel. She's a pretty classic pop artist. That's why. Also, her production and management team is not doing a great job in advertising her. And that's partly because Tori doesn't want it. Tori doesn't want to appeal to the teens that seek angsty and new music, she wants to appeal to people that appreciate music. No frills, no shininess, no flashy costumes. You can blame the contentious tendency of religion; but, that, in my opinion confines your thought process. It confines to what you believe people can argue about. People have done songs mocking religion, making people just as uncomfortable.
That impromptu vamp with the "ooohhhh" at the end is EVERYTHING! This performance is so powerful!
5:22 does anyone else get church/worship vibes?? I love it!!

Don't know what it's all about
But every time I look around
All I see is how we're holdin' on
Don't ask me what's wrong or right
I don't even know the time
All I know is I'm holdin' on
I haven't figured anything out
I haven't figured anything, anything, anything out
City dove, fly between the buildings and fences
Soft inside but rough on the edges
Waiting here for something to come just holdin' on, oh oh
City dove, fly between the stars and the headlights
Passin' by the clouds and the street signs
Knowing that there's something to come, just holdin' on
I don't really know my fate
I just know I'm on my way
There will be mistakes movin' on
I try to get to the heart of it
Fly low but lookin' for Heaven
I know, I know I'm holding on
I won't…

I do agree to that, but that is fine to me as long as she keeps making more music for everyone.
