Joey has a deeper discography than anyone who even approached him. 1999, American badass, 2000. Dudes been in the spotlight since 16. Daylyght is the shit I close my curtains to avoid🤦🏻♂️
@@JimmyCrelan Joeys discography, and its prevalence in everyday rap conversations in virtually nonexistent expect amongst his fans. Before his drops and before the battles when everything was quiet and the game was overrun with “wet pussy rap” from sexy redd and ice spice in 2023 and early 2024, where was Joey? When he dropped 2000 in 2022, did it make even a splash? Daylyt is a legendary battle rapper so bring up his “discography” makes no sense and if you listened to “HIFY”, what he speaks on regarding relevancy in NY and in LA, it’s undeniable. You say “Daylyt” and niggas aren’t thjkmg about the sunshine, they thinking about him and his battles, wins, wordplay and so on. I’ll give you ray vaughn isn’t relevant in his discog. Definitely don’t shit on Mick Jenkins and how extensive his discog is, the features he’s be in and had, his impact in CHI.
@ respect all your saying but you’re talking about how Joey is irrelevant except amongst his fans but bring up the same points for daylyt and mick as if they have ever been mentioned outside of the “fans” of them. I’m not here to tell anybody Joey is the best ever. He’s making hip hop a sport again and ain’t with the whole the west is the best shit. Battle rap and good music are very different things. If it wasn’t Murda mook woulda had 10 platinum albums by now. Be a lyricist and make good music. You watched this video so you must appreciate some aspect of his art🤷🏻♂️ all these dudes can rap rap but no apologies for the east even if it’s Joey being like nah we here too.all he’s doing is reminding ppl hey I can do this too it ain’t all the big three. And using conductor is wild
@ you’re right! He can rap, and at least he making us remember the east in these times. I’m glad for any representation from the east. I’m waiting for others to step to the plate and back Joey up or challenge him for NYs #1 spot.
@ I feel like if asap was more active it could be him but even at that he has Texas style of rap rather than ny. I do think Benny and the Griselda boys could are nice too but their subject matter just isn’t that interesting all the time. Rip pop, could’ve been him too but he still doesn’t have that true OG ny sound. I feel Joey is trying to keep that OG sound alive for this generation and the next
@ respect! So, due to deaths, subject matter and lack of presence, Joey is all there is left. Or so it seems. Especially as when he dropped his declaration two weeks ago, to this day it hasn’t been challenged.
@ pretty much, I think he’s not only challenging the west but also his own city, ny rap scene is trash. Drill out there is so booboo lmao. If you get asap coming out claiming ny and get the Griselda boys coming out and being competitive then that’s what it’s all about. Joey always been a competitive rapper and calling out Cole and Kendrick it’s just now after the beef that people are overreacting to it. They all blew up around the same time. All have songs together. People just like the messy mud slinging that happened between Kenny and drake
@ I get what you’re saying. Great points. Very valid. However, compared to the rappers how’s is calling out, and while i know rappers like Kendrick and Cole may respect Joey’s abilities, I don’t think they believe Joey’s skills are comparable. It’s hard to really think of anyone in NY besides Nas who can really compare. The shot to the west is different than calling out two of the best rappers of the last decade. My main point is this song, in response to the rappers who did hear the call out and send their shots back to “the rulers’ back”, wasn’t good enough. Daylyt’s response is better than both of Joey’s songs. And at least 3 other rappers did great as well. I do like the bars, but I don’t like the beat choice and the overall vibe and delivery felt lackluster.
Fire commentary bro, BEEF EVERYWHERE. No Diddy.
React to Cliff Savage 2nd response.

Go listen to 2000. Nas and diddy gave him the torch they said he’s up next. He said he’s the “heir apparent king of ny”
@@lupeezy47 aaaight that’s fair. You agree with the decision? Is there no other NY MC that deserves the torch?
