At the age of 10,about 36 years ago,I met Jim,Bobby, and Dennis backstage(or back gym) at a spot show in the massively huge town of Reserve,La. They managed to be nice and still be heels Unlike Buddy Landell who called me a little “co*ksucker”. I was more partial to heels, and that meeting made me a perma-heel fan and I still rooted for the Express when they turned face in 1988. Always a fan! Thank you for the memories Bobby!
To the best of my knowledge Beautiful Bobby Eaton was the only Pro Wrestler ever to hold The NWA or CWA MidAmerica Heavyweight Championship for BOTH Nick Gulas and Jerry Jarrett owned Companies, transpiring between 1980 and 1983. MidAmerica was my JCP or WWF or AWA growing up and the now late and always great Sir Robert was part of that. R.I.P. Mr. Eaton.🤔😔🎤🔔 × 10 🎾🤼♂️B.W.
As soon as I saw about the passing of Bobby Eaton, I instantly thought of Corny. I hope the entire Eaton family, and all Bobby's friends and fans are sharing great stories with each other. I wouldn't be surprised if Corny does a 2 hour special edition in Bobby's honor when he has the head for it.
The Noid guy didn't actually kill anyone. He held two Dominoes employees hostage for 100,000 and a white limo but they managed to escape as he ate a pizza during the standoff.
If I were starving and stranded in the middle of nowhere... and happened upon nick gage telling me where to get free pizza... I would walk in the opposite direction purely out of immediate distrust and disgust.
I have never owned a pizza slicer that was sharp enough to slice my skin. I’ve owned a lot. They’ve all been a little dull. So using it as a weapon is stupid to me and not intimidating at all. Knife, yes. Pizza cutter, FUCK NO!
Can be sharp but lame weapon. On an episode off Mlw, Tom Lawlor sliced the shit out of Jimmi Havocs arm. the guy was leaking! I was apprehensive to watch the Nick gage shit for that and botches lol
Yeah, it's one of those things that gradually becomes more ludicrous the more you think about it. They can be sharp but don't need to be for the intended use. If you are going to go to the trouble of sharpening it, just whip out a box cutter.
@@kublayrodriguez3188 Yeah, I get that it could theoretically be sharp. But none of mine ever are, so I don’t feel like it’s a threatening weapon if I see someone pull it out. A bat, a sledgehammer, thumbtacks, all of those hurt. They make me go, “Oh!” But if I see someone pull out a pizza cutter, I’m just confused why they chose to bring that into a fight. It’s a goofy choice.
Perhaps a better damage control response would have been: This was an 'Experimental' one time event. Nick Gage is not associated nor signed to All Elite Wrestling. All Elite Wrestling Promotes a wide variety of Wrestling styles, however Nick Gage will not be associated with our company going forward.
"Nick Gage could sell some pizzas" makes me wanna see a Domino's commercial where Gage is dressed as the Noid beating people up like that Sprite commercial where Sting beats up a kid. They could even use pizza sauce as fake blood!
Here’s a brief summary for those that would like to know about the Dominos / Noid case: In 1989, a Georgia man named Kenneth Noid took two Domino’s employees hostage at an Atlanta area restaurant because he thought the pizza chain created the Noid to mock him. No one was hurt during the hours-long standoff. Noid was later charged with kidnapping and assault, but he was found not guilty by reason of insanity and institutionalized. In 1995, he committed suicide.
It’d actually be a pretty cool movie lol. Shows suck but if someone made AEW into a 2 hour movie of highlights and the backstage foolery it’d be a comedy hit for sure
The only thing I would add to this and I'm surprised Jim didn't say it, but WWE wasn't necessarily trying to bury AEW by "snitching" on them. They're trying to distance themselves from the situation and say "hey, this wasn't us", because all it would take is some uninformed media outlet to post the storyline "WWE superstar Chris Jericho cut by pizza cutter on TV while Domino's Pizza ad plays in the break", something like that. Even if it said former that still would put heat on them and it wouldn't be a good look.
Rest in peace Bobby Eaton,a great personand a great wrestler. Listening to Jim this weekend will be with a heavy heart .I hope Jim can make it thru when he talks about Bobby .
Here's the difference, Jon. Probably half the US population over the age of 35 remembers the Noid and would respond positively based on nostalgia alone. How many people respond positively to death match wrestling? A hundred thousand, tops?
We're literally at a time where nostalgia is a thing and is getting over like how movies make a sequel for an old movie or say Nintendo making a smaller version of their Nintendo console from the 80s. Does Moxley follow anything outside of deathmatch wrestling? I know he isn't a social person which is fine but like I don't buy he doesn't at least pay attention to what's trendy especially when he has a wife who is outgoing.
@@popo0129 I think it just shows how rabid fans can be incapable of seeing past their own little world. They can't understand that only a few people are part of the same fandom.
@@darrengordon-hill Basically what I am arguing lol. They don't need AEW but the fact that Moxley is acting like Dominos getting upset isn't something to take serious shows how stupid he is about this. Even if Dominos isn't a huge loss on them, other companies like Cornette said could end up looking at AEW closely and if they notice anything they don't like, they will back off. My other thought too is this could fuck up wrestling again promotional wise mainly if someone else wants to start a show and air it on TV and need sponsors. WWE is fine because they have for years consistantly built their relationships with other brands and celebrities and gained their trust. AEW to most fans they like because "oh it's a variety show". Okay well when you have hardcore matches like this and normal matches, you need to pick which audience you cater to and what type of content you will show so sponsors and other companies can be assured that, "okay this person has this type of content for adults and people who are into hardcore fighting. Our ads target a similar demographic so we should be fine."
@@Raven34643 Basically. I learned marketing and public relations in my college program and this would had been serious to a competent team. AEW isn't even that big yet to blow off sponsors or companies like this, they need to build relationships and trust. Having Moxley tweet that just shows that even their employees can't be trusted and shows that Tony has done nothing to keep this relationship since he never even told his wrestlers to keep quiet when it comes to this and let their marketing or public relations people handle this as well as himself since this is his company.
Yeah sure they should just lighten up, it’s not like they should be concerned about being made a mockery of while spending 6 and 7 figures on advertising on the network or anything lol
At first I thought Moxley was just a mark for hardcore wrestling, but his reverence for Nick Cage goes beyond simple markdom and into the world of delusion. Even someone of below average intelligence could tell you that there is nothing marketable about Nick Gage. He’s literally the type of personality that these companies actively try to avoid. I hope for Moxley’s sake that he was being sarcastic or something.
The more i learn about Jon Moxley (And wrestlers with his mindset) the more i understand why Vince rejected their ideas when they were in WWE lol. Vince was right.
Stooging was perfectly fine when the far left was doing it to people last March-May for not wearing masks in their own yards, back before those same people suddenly decided all cops were evil.
You can't blame Dominoes if they don't like what they sponsored they have the rights to pull their commercials off the show. I wonder anyone notice that Zack Ryder, Chelsea Green, & Curt Hawkins was during that Commercial.
On January 30, 1989, a 22-year-old man named Kenneth Lamar Noid walked into a Domino’s Pizza in Atlanta, Georgia, with a .357 magnum revolver and took two employees hostages. After a five-hour standoff during which Noid demanded $100,000 in ransom money, the employees in question escaped. But the damage to the Noid brand was done: not only was the headline too good to ignore (“Domino’s Hostages Couldn’t Avoid the Noid this Time”) but it turned out that Kenneth Lamar Noid actually believed he was the Noid-or, at least, the Noid’s original inspiration.
Damn it man, who does these uploads? It seems that whenever i’m in the middle of watching old Corny shoots and start running out of content, a new video gets posted. Hail Corny.
Jon Moxley is a mark. He thinks his name has value and so he disrespects a sponsor thinking people will side with him. You have to be on the level of Brock Lesnar before you can diss a sponsor (UFC 100 Budlight incident).
Wrestling has never ending loser tests. For instance, if you cite WWE pushing this story...then you have never worked in any real business, have no grasp of how competitive business works, and generally live in a loser fantasyland. If a competitor screwed up this massively, I'd never let anybody forget...and I would expect the treatment in return if I was the fuck up...because THAT IS THE GAME....
I feel like Moxley is too carny to sell overpriced pizzas for Dominos. Now if 7-11 wanted to advertise their gas station pizza, that’d be more relatable to Moxley.
Yeah, the pizza is already of refutable quality. Don't need an overweight fat Canadian getting his face carved by a failed bank robber as a segway for their pizza
I really used to think Moxley was cool. When he left WWE I thought "Good for him, he was underutilized and overshadowed by Rollins and Reigns." I knew he had his origins in the deathmatch crap, but I figured surely he'd left that in his past, learned how to wrestle from his time high on the card in a major promotion and now he's gonna take over the world working New Japan and AEW (back when I had hopes AEW might turn out to be something too). And here we are today. Every time he opens his mouth, he sounds like more of a mark then me and I've never wrestled a day in my life, he defends this deathmatch garbage, seems somehow genuinely convinced Nick Gage, the man who mutilates himself and others in front of 10s of people in a field for probably a few $100 at best is some underappreciated megastar to be and works the same, insufferable, 20 minute hardcore match week in week out. I've come to genuinely just be over anything to do with him. Meanwhile, Rollins is... doing some weird stuff but he's still a great wrestler who knows what he's doing and, in spite of working for a terrible company that puts on a terrible product around him, Roman Reigns is the biggest actual star in wrestling.
He will be okay, and we know this because unfortunately we have already seen him deal with the loss of close friends in the wrestling biz too many times before.
Not gonna lie, I bought some dominos the next day. Not because it looked appetizing, I just showed several people how funny the clip was and kept thinking about the pizza.
To start this off right R.I.P. Beautiful Bobby Eaton. Second Ol Moxley has 0 clue of what he is talking about and to defend Gage shows why WWE wanted to move forward from him
The noid came out in 1986 Jan 30 1989 22yr old Kenneth Lamar noid walked into Atlanta dominoes with 357 took 2 hostages. Hostages escaped. Thought avoid the noid was about him.
I can't help but feel like if someone in WWE did something to insult a sponsor, Mcmahon would fire or fine and suspend the individual. Tony Klown is probably like "hey guys, that wasn't cool man." and then lightly slaps them on the wrist and that's it

Sure John, and Joey Ryan would be a good spokesman for Oscar Myer lol
Nick Gage couldn't sell water to a man on fire.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nick Gage would be THE REASON a man is on fire.

What IS a spot show?
@@bradpaton3927 It’s a small show at a place that doesn’t hold regularly scheduled shows. Places like High school gyms, bingo halls etc.
Jon Moxley loves Nick Gage more than Renee Young
LMFAO HAHA 😅🤣
The Noid guy didn't actually kill anyone. He held two Dominoes employees hostage for 100,000 and a white limo but they managed to escape as he ate a pizza during the standoff.
He did unfortunately kill 1 person. He committed suicide in 1995.
@@killahnyhill that was a mercy kill.
Avoid the Noid!!
Jim may have gotten the facts a little off, but the point he made is still a valid one.
Let's be honest, the Noid is way more over than Moxley's ever been
Moxley's definitely taken too many chair shots, etc., over the years.
Cornette is the first person I thought of soon as I heard about Bobby this morning. RIP Beautiful Bobby
I was apprehensive to watch the Nick gage shit for that and botches lol
melted cheese and hot bread. but it's sharo enough to apparently cut skin😂😂😂😂
The Noid could take a better bump off a cage than the Canadian Michelin Man getting his face cut up.
Perhaps a better damage control response would have been:
This was an 'Experimental' one time event. Nick Gage is not associated nor signed to All Elite Wrestling. All Elite Wrestling Promotes a wide variety of Wrestling styles, however Nick Gage will not be associated with our company going forward.
That would be the logical, rational thing to do.
So we know that’s not gonna happen.
"Nick Gage could sell some pizzas" makes me wanna see a Domino's commercial where Gage is dressed as the Noid beating people up like that Sprite commercial where Sting beats up a kid. They could even use pizza sauce as fake blood!
I guess Domino's did pull their ads during the most recent Dynamite episode... I saw no Domino's commercials.
Now THIS is some outrage I can finally support!
Dominos is probably wondering who tf is this nobody called “Moxley” is 😂
Imagine if this went down in the WWE. They’d be fired the same day!
Here’s a brief summary for those that would like to know about the Dominos / Noid case:
In 1989, a Georgia man named Kenneth Noid took two Domino’s employees hostage at an Atlanta area restaurant because he thought the pizza chain created the Noid to mock him. No one was hurt during the hours-long standoff. Noid was later charged with kidnapping and assault, but he was found not guilty by reason of insanity and institutionalized. In 1995, he committed suicide.
I KNEW the Noid thing started in the '80s and I wasn't going crazy! I remember it from high school.
...I swear, if you told me this was all an elaborate satire movie about wrestling, I'd believe it.
Y'all see how Little Ceasars is the sponsor now? Shitty pizza getting replaced with shittier beer
@@popo0129 Not even - Dominos is a bigger "household name" than AEW.
Dominos *do not* need AEW!!
Jim was so correct about Tony Kahn. When Jim first learned who Tony was going into business with.
When I first heard of AEW I was actually kind of excited.
Then I watched it… 🤦♂️
@@dr.floridamanphd Yes - I agree
Yoooooo i got a Domino's ad while watching this😂😂😂😂
The more i learn about Jon Moxley (And wrestlers with his mindset) the more i understand why Vince rejected their ideas when they were in WWE lol. Vince was right.
Moxley is a bum
I spit my coffee when Corny said "...Nick Fuckin Gage man....." in that voice
For one I'm happy to see The Noid back. I used to love playing that game Yo Noid back on the NES.
Even if WWE did stooge them, it's still AEW's fault for doing it to begin with.
Stooging was perfectly fine when the far left was doing it to people last March-May for not wearing masks in their own yards, back before those same people suddenly decided all cops were evil.
I feel bad laughing at that story about a guy named Noid 😂. I was wondering what happened to him.
I could've sworn The Noid is still in Domino's ads today.
@@DolFan316 he is but he was missing for 15-20 years.
"That's not how you use a pizza cutter" - CEO of Dominos
AEW needs to work with Dominos, not the other way round.
You can't blame Dominoes if they don't like what they sponsored they have the rights to pull their commercials off the show. I wonder anyone notice that Zack Ryder, Chelsea Green, & Curt Hawkins was during that Commercial.
RIP Beautiful Bobby Eaton. My thoughts are with you Jim. We know how much he meant to you.
Schaefer Beer was 35 cents a can when I was a kid. 😹 I didn't even know they still made that
RIP Bobby Eaton. One of the Greatest Tag Team Wrestlers of All Time.
Hail Corny.
You have no life huh??
I'm about to secrete cookie dough
Bobby Eaton was on Hell of a wrestler. Thanks for all the childhood memories. He treated the sport the right way.
This is one of the many reasons why Vince McMahon isn't worried about AEW.
Jon Moxley is a mark. He thinks his name has value and so he disrespects a sponsor thinking people will side with him. You have to be on the level of Brock Lesnar before you can diss a sponsor (UFC 100 Budlight incident).
Even Brock had to apologize with a Bud Lite in hand a half an hour later at the presser
Awesome artwork 💀
Godspeed, "beautiful" Bobby Eaton. The world of wrestling lost a legend and a tag team great.
If Nick Gage was the face of a pizza company..I'm damn sure not eating that pizza. And YES it's because of how he looks and his teeth
Lack of looks and teeth lol 😅🤣
A lot of the HeresJohnnyTV Moxley burial rap came fron this clip. 😂
Moxley looks like an out of shape Triple H cosplaying as an out of shape Steve Austin.
“Cold Stone” Steve Austin lol
Out of shape Triple H cosplaying Steve Austin acting like Mick Foley.
but Im told by AEW marks hes some big star.
His entrance is waaaaaack
He sucks. Corny said it best when he referred to Moxley as looking like a guy working at a Jiffy Lube!
Moxley would be perfect for Advanced hair studio tbh
God I love the cover art
I feel like Moxley is too carny to sell overpriced pizzas for Dominos.
Now if 7-11 wanted to advertise their gas station pizza, that’d be more relatable to Moxley.
Idk, never at a 7-11 pizza but I think Moxley could advertise a pizza handmade by Ian Rotten
Dollar store steaks
I’m Jon Moxley come on down to the county flea market.
We got deals for days
I'd take a 7-Eleven pizza over watching Moxley or Nick Gage.
Guy who puts fake broken glass in mouth in wrestling match tells billion dollar company what to do
I’d like to thank Corny for the visual of Vince McMahon piledriving Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley would be the last person I'd ask for advice in regards to sponsorship business

I went through the exact same thought process regarding Moxley at the exact same time as you.
Nope, WWE just managed to protect him from himself for a little while
Moxley and his "hey look at me bleed" style of wrestling is what's played...
As well as the Cucamonga Kids and their bratty kids jumping on furniture matches. Passe. Now it's the majority and everyone is getting sick of it.
They should add some meth and blood to their pizza to go along with the broken glass that's already standard. Call it the Nick Gage Special.
It's their new "glass diet" menu😜
Meth Head McGee 😂😂😂😂
Pabst Blue Ribbon has become a hipster beer now, they drink it ironically. Makes sense AEW fans would drink it.
Millennials love all things crappy so I'm not even surprised.
Since hearing about Bobby Eaton, I've been concerned for Jim. I know they were close. I hope he'll be okay.
He will be okay, and we know this because unfortunately we have already seen him deal with the loss of close friends in the wrestling biz too many times before.
Last time I heard him fighting back tears was when Lance Russell died. m.ua-cam.com/video/85PWls8HaFo/v-deo.html
Won't be surprised if there is no drive thru coming up
Moxely wouldn't be even able to run a hotdog cart
So what does he know about running a business
He's just a deathmatch mark
Not gonna lie, I bought some dominos the next day. Not because it looked appetizing, I just showed several people how funny the clip was and kept thinking about the pizza.
People wonder why he never really did personal appearances or spoke on shows.
It’s hilarious how much of Mosley’s WWE persona seems to be his real life self. He lives by hobo logic.
I just had a dominoes cookie/brownie and I feel sick . I feel like, I'm going to secrete cookie dough once its fully digested
I can't help but feel like if someone in WWE did something to insult a sponsor, Mcmahon would fire or fine and suspend the individual. Tony Klown is probably like "hey guys, that wasn't cool man." and then lightly slaps them on the wrist and that's it
RIP Bobby
I have no comment on this situation. Death match wrestlers are in no way taking what the ECW originals did a step further.
Ya cus in ecw they could wrestle and usually started no dq and birebed wire matches with wrestling.
