Definitely very unpleasant getting caught in those violent downdrafts! Even worse when you slink away after your beat down only to look back over your shoulder to see that you’d have recouped most of your loss if you hadn’t gotten out.
Happened to me the other day with something so I held onto GWAV today through the downswing until it went back up into profit. Wish I'd held longer today tbh but idk how much more I can deal in these penny stocks ... the volatility is so anxiety inducing, haha

Hey Ross, would you do a video on the details of using a cash account in lieu of the new T+1 settlement change? I suspect a lot of people with accounts under $25k may be changing to a cash account so we can potentially trade more and would be good to understand the ins and outs of how a cash account works.
You deposit the amount you want to use. And the positions you open and close same day will settle the next day basically that’s all.
Yeah I have a couple accounts just to get trades in every day this is a game charger for me no more double accounts to fill on the second day

I think he may be doing a small account challenge when it goes into effect.
Anyway you look at it, gotta have a minimum of $25K to prevent a PDT violation by falling below that amount. Plus you gotta have another couple of thousand to actively trade with. Bottom line is must have at least $30K to day-trade without worrying about PDT and settlements.

Definitely need to know the free scanners, I'm saving ross's two week trial for when I go live so I can use his scanner. It's really gonna help me grow my account.
Charts watcher and the scanner in TOS are good.
Ya I was paper trading for 2 months. Averaging %5 day over day using his methods. Live trading I'm like break even after a week. I think it's mental stuff/the weeks I paper trades were more bullish.

Had it on a chart and was looking for it to pull back and reform some kind of setup. Those offerings come at you quick. It would be cool if somehow in the news gadget having an icon for s3 filing or not. Would be good to have at a glance.
Whats the best time frame to watch the macd? i day trade so i usually watch on 5 min chart (on Robinhood) but i have noticed that when it crosses above or below price doesnt track the macd. Any tips to help me learn a little more🙏

I am a lucky SOB. I woke up logged in and the shares I bought yesterday at 10 were shooting up through 14. I got a AM limit sell in near the high in mid 15s. I can’t believe I actually sold and made a lucky profit seconds before dump city. We all deserve a lucky break sometimes and today was mine.

sadly was in this and my account got liquated looked away for one second and just like that everything I've traded up to GONE so devastated and demotivated man made around 250 off first trade went back in and bam everything was gone in the blink of an eye

How could they sell that fast? Unless they already know what the news is. seconds after breaking news...you mention high frequency trading or bots doing it but how they interpret its good news or bad news so fast
They are programmed to look for keywords such as offering or aquisition buyout and price per share. Its just 1's and 0's
Goig live at the end of the month. Started trading at the end of march. Only 6 red days, max loss was $126. Max day was $345. Took a 900 dollar paper account to $4736 after today. The number one reason ive done so well is staying disciplined and dont swing for home runs. I still have to learn how to hold my winners longer but i think its time to go live. Wish me look!!

Drop was triggered the news of diluting the shares. Nobody wants to hold a 10 dollar share now worth 5 bucks.
If you have a stop-loss set, what happens to it? You should still get filled, right? Not ideal, but not at the bottom either?
A lot of times they don’t get filled if it’s a huge drop like that!

Can you imaging going long on this at $40 only to be worth a buck less than 24 hours later. So scary!
That happened so fast I wasn't sure what this stock was doing so I bought 2 shares. 10 seconds later I was stunned. Lost $15 immediately. Crazy, I don't let myself lose that much on other trades when I have 10 or 100+ shares.

OK.. here goes .... someone was trigger ready with big order selling exactly when it released. They knew it was coming out at that time
Algorithm selling does that. Market makers have the capacity to do that

I traded this stock before and after the news, made 35% gains with a 75% success rate. I was looking at another stock at 9:15am, came back to it, saw the pattern again and traded it a bit more. I didn't know what kind of news it was to be honest, but this is my best day so far and it really felt like I was scalping perfect the setup I need to trade.

Unfortunately, with small cap stocks, you typically won’t have the ability to hedge with options

SPCE should reverse split
GTBP has 2 employees and the meds their pipeline of products has only one in a stage 1 clinical trial. It will be years before they are profitable if they survive. Most companies this size fail.
Bought mgol last night at 1.28 and sold it a few minutes ago at 2.15. I never hold stocks overnight but watching all the crazy action after hours i knew that this one will pop up next day pre market. And damn i was right.
How can people ' read ' the news , digest it , then deal in a few seconds ?

Those were definitely machine orders, but can the machines even "react to news" that fast? Only if those orders were already set to execute, I would think. That big of a sell-off 15 seconds after news? Doesn't that have a slight suggestion of insider activity?
They got key words set up that trigger sell sell sell the stock I bet. Sounds pretty simple.
@@TxRunner71I would look into the news article and find words that could trigger a sell something negative
@@TxRunner71 web crawlers searching for keywords and stock symbols. Look for "direct offering" find the $ticker and execute sell orders. You aren't beating a computer to the buy/sell button. There's a reason retail traders are called "dumb money"

That was my biggest loss of the day. LUCKY I was on trading rehab and only had like 60 shares in lol normally would have been 500ish give/take for this price size. I got lucky, but was a small red day because of it. I couldn't ever get out from under this beast.

When did the news come out? I didn't see it come up on the platform until about 9:45, after the move. Either way, I'm now the proud (not proud) owner of 100 shares of GTBP at 12.50.....I'm going to email them with a strong sentiment of disapproval for their reprehensible activities.
