If you had told me I would watch someone set up and tune a kit for thirty five minutes and enjoy it, I wouldn't have believed you. P.S. My wife has zero patience for gear videos and she's smiling.
I consider myself a bassist and guitar player, but daaaaaaaamn. I love watching the drums channel =) it's so cool and relaxing. Also, Chris Coleman's so cooooooooooool ! thanks for the hard work !
Damn he knows how to tune some drums. You'd be surprised how many professional big name drummers don't even know how to tune their drums and usually get people to do that for them. And I am totally Same way as chris, I’m super particular about my setup and if something is just a little off, it def does mess ur vibe up on stage cause u aren’t totally comfortable so ur not completely in the zone of the music. If something is too close or too far or too up or too down it just doesn’t feel right. Some drummers can play on anything and be okay but I def can’t. Also if the throne is too high or too low it towllt messes my double bass chops up and then makes everything like the cymbals and toms too low or too high. Nothing feels better than ur kit set up exactly how u want them and tuned to perfection on stage and feel and hear your drums doing their job and being super punchy and musical.
Andy Ham all apart of being a professional drummer if you can't tune you have no business playing drums! No maters how good you may be. Honestly that should be the start of learning how to play
Soooo I know I’m not the only one who heard the drums “sizzle” from all that heat 😂😂 after the last note right before the applause the drums SIZZLED🔥🔥😂😂😂💯
I love the way the drums have been recorded in this (prior to the zoom recording). Nice natural room reverb. So many drum videos seem to have the ultra dead close-miked sound which just has no vibe to me.
Had the privilege meeting CC last September at Benny G’s Camp 🏕️ Legend 🤙🏿 one of the good guys 🙏🏻🥁
Better than just an interview. Better than a playing video. I love this format of getting him to explain his set up.
What a nice and talented guy, God bless him.
I could watch Chris set up a kit and tune it from start to finish, along with his humor and obviously his chops. Love that dude.
Such an amazing personality and good genuine happy positive person with great vibes and arguably the best drummer in the world
CHRIS COLEMAN...you're philosophy on and off the kit is amazing. Everything broken down to a science! Definitely one of my favorite smart drummers.
What a beast!!! One of my favorite drummers
He is amazing....
Isn't he just morris. Absolute beast of a player and a inspiration to us all 😉
One of the best drummers alive! I've seen drummers with FAR less talent than Chris with FAR bigger egos. Funny how that works out... lol.
Chris should be doing stand up part time lol
Awesome vid.
Great to see that a world class player is just as goofy and friendly as your average joe.

I think i enjoy setting my drum kit up almost as much as playing it!
I wish everybody at my work had Chris Coleman's great vibe, I can only wish.

bruh...at the end of Chris's performance...I literally yelled...SHIT!!
Chris is definitely one my favorite drummers of all time. I 1st notice him during his tour with Chaka Khan. He so highly highly entertaining.
I love this....I've been looking for this kind of interaction with Chris. Perfect!
Love chris coleman from India....🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Two guys on right are so shocked that they look like a picture :D
hahah he needs help. The Man is crazy and super talented!!!!!!

Chris has tuned my drums a few times and told me his thinking behind it. He also plays bass and keys so he’s got a great ear.
Will there be more videos from this session?
Absolutely brilliant video guys 😀
thank goodness sonor's gonna be updating their hardware lines.
Soooo I know I’m not the only one who heard the drums “sizzle” from all that heat 😂😂 after the last note right before the applause the drums SIZZLED🔥🔥😂😂😂💯
Absolutely great video! Chris is of course an extremely inspiring player, but also ridiculously funny. Thanks! 👍
'I don't want to HOI! my drums...' 21:38. Chris can power a small city with his level of energy! And all it took was one cup of coffee...
My dream video has arrived.
I like chris coleman i watching so happy you are drummer funny
Chris Coleman and Calvin Rodgers have some of the best tuned drums in my opinion.
Love it! Great video & just cool 🤘🏻
Awesome video. His drumming goes without saying but OMG that snare is in one word....BEEFY
what kind of stick bag back pack was he using in this video? 0:17
iNNerBeaTzMusic newfolder case. His is custom though
Now I know why he set-up his drums like that, not angled.
Hey where is the other bass drum I think it looks better with that perticular kit
Chris Coleman and Larnell Lewis the highest stage of evolution drummers!

What is that stick bag? I’ve never seen that! So means I have to get me one haha
What’s the song behind the scenes when they are setting up the drum set
What size drum stick do you use
The beast!😱😵🔥🔥
Wait. I thought his toms were flat, they aren't actually tilted AWAY Abit? Am I seeing that correctly
Great things attempt great results
Do you have drum technician .?

I love this
24:18
does someone know the Name of the song he is playing along?
It's called "Go" by Kaz Rodriguez.
The POWER.
Giant Steps? Don't Chris use DW 9000 pedals instead?
Personal assistants all over the world: are We a joke to you chris?
What is the song called on 21:24
Why why why does the audoo mix at the end performance sound like it was recorded on a flip phone????
because it was....a real let down
Love Chris, but i was thinking (gotta lay off the meth), right after he says “that coffee got me buzzin” i Lol
people in the back - flash frozen? XD
man, chris makes even bad audio work.
I have centre punch marks in my stands. I find the exact height & position in a few seconds instead of all this fiddeling.
