    oh! Happy to find this song included on that day's set list!!! It's one of my faves. Saw Ash play Amsterdam again 23rd April 2024 and sadly it wasn't included on the list that evening but certainly hope when they return they will play it, I will ask them for sure! An evening with Ash is always such a pleasure!!!!

    It was my very first concert, seeing them in Böblingen, Southwest-Germany in the late 70s ... and it was great!
    Later I've got them in Weil der Stadt, similar region (somewhere in the 90s).
    And I'm sad to have missed them in Sudhaus, Tübingen, Germany too.
    As someone wrote as comment to another song of them: 'criminally underrated band of the 70s!'

      I promise you, you won't regret it. The show was amazing, and they had so much fun playing together. In the second half of the show, they played the complete Argus album 🤞😉

      PS... has anybody ever seen Bob Skeet without that daft cap.? Think he sleeps in it.

    I saw a gig list recently where Glenn Hughes played a venue and ticket price was £29. Mr Powell's tribute band played the same venue and ticket price was £35... how can that possibly be right.. Also, I recently went to see Martin Turner's band at a lovely little seated theatre and for 2 and a quarter hours they completely blew Mr Powell's band out of the water.. Ticket price... £19.. I'll let you do the maths, and the character reference...There's only one man who should still be able to carry the name Wishbone Ash, and it ain't the guy in this video...

    • @simonbetts1363
      @simonbetts1363 8 місяців тому

      If you don't want to pay to see Wishbone Ash then , no problem , don't go. Simple. If you want to see Martin's band in a smaller venue then by all means do so . Again, simple. The argument over the name was settled in court many years ago and to keep droning on about it is really, really pointless now because nothing is going to change . Both bands are working and we can choose who we see or don't see. What you pay to see Glenn Hughes has nothing to do with anything.

      Hi there, yes I probably have missed your point and, having re-read your posting , I'm still not sure what that point may be. I'm guessing that you , like myself , are an Ash fan from way, way back and I'm also guessing that you made a choice at some point to be firmly 'Team Turner' as opposed to 'Team Powell' . Fair enough,and , as I have said , it's your choice. I've tried to stay out of the arguments as far as possible [ I think that the two of them should have been able to come to an agreement without things going so far , but they both dug their heels in and , of course , we don''t really know all of the ins and outs ...] . BUT... the issue was , in the end , decided in court and I assume that the judge was independent and unbiased and , based solely on the law of our land Andy won and Martin lost [ and big time ] . The disparity in ticket prices is not really a mystery ; WA are a full time, touring and recording band working all over the world . As you acknowledge they play at larger venues so all of the logistics are bigger . This all costs money that has to be recouped through ticket prices but it only works if the crowds keep coming , which they obviously do . Martin's band are certainly very good musicians but for large chunks of the year have to earn their livings doing other stuff and when they do their annual tour they are playing smaller venues with much lower overheads . It's just the way that the economics work . I like both bands but I do think that Martin is now resigned to being wholly a nostalgia act , touring a whole album and then a greatest hits package each year and trying to get as close to note-for-note performances as possible. Not all of WA's new material has been to my taste but some of it certainly has and I respect Andy for still trying to push forward after all these years .
      We are obviously a little way apart in our views, but may we just agree to differ and keep on enjoying the fantastic catalogue of Wishbone Ash music for as long as we have breath in our bodies!!! Sincere best wishes to you@@mozartsmate6358

      @@simonbetts1363 Completely agree with a lot of what you have said, and although I now much prefer Martin's band, I was a huge Andy Powell fan back in the day. You mention Martin being more of a nostalgia gig.. I honestly believe that most true Wishbone fans go to see (either band) now to hear the old Wishbone Ash music. I have mentioned this in another post, that a few years ago I went to see Andy's band in a small venue where they played the whole of the 1st set playing new stuff. People were walking off to the bar and some actually leaving altogether. I agree with you that they should bury the hatchet and get back together again but sadly that is not going to happen. I went to see the reunion tour in 1990 and they were fantastic.
      I first saw Wishbone Ash in 1969 and they completely blew me away that night. The musicianship of those 4 very young men was incredible and that gig had a huge effect on me.
      As two old codgers now, I guess we will have different views, but one thing is certain,.. we knew a great band when we saw one. Best wishes.
