So I'm picking up a mandolin this weekend and I'm looking forward to going through your series. I played the saxophone for 5 years way back in high school (1990s) but other than that, nothing else. I've been wanting to learn an instrument again for a while and for some reason the mandolin is just kind of begging me to give it a try. I like the sound, the songs, and the somewhat portability of it. Anyway, really enjoying what I see here, thanks for making this information available to all.
I am very excited about this series since it addresses a skill (improvisation) that I’ve been butted up against for a while. I’m hoping these upcoming lessons will be the “aha” that will getting me moving again.
Gonna be picking up my grandfathers mandolin tomorrow. Ive played guitar for 12 years and bass for 8. What do you think my biggest curveball will be? Edit: other than tuning difference
Noone in poor Appalachia has a tutor. Appreciated man

I know you didn't ask me, but I think your main curveball will be feeling like your guitar neck is a 2x4 if you stick to Mando for long
Hahaha totally thats hilarious it takes a minute to get used to that big old clunker my guitar is classical so its even bigger when ya go back
David benedict has a good video about this subject if ya look
Good idea for a series, Baron. Looking forward to it.
