Those acoustic guitars sound GREAT
Surprised this video doesn't have that many views! Good demo, quick and to the point. I plan on picking up one or a pair of these pretty soon.
I would love to hear a comparison ov the mini k67x and the mini k87.
Thank you for great reviews
This is a big help. I need one. Thanks Chris!
Any time, Greg!
Master Chris always doing the best updates.
I appreciate that, Thanks!
Absolutely love their microphones. Super value and super nice mics.
I'm a fan!
Nice job, thank you. I will be trying all the Roswell mini series. Starting with the K67x.
Hi Scott, very good choice! Have fun!
Hi Chris great video thanks.im not sure if you have done this before but if you havent, can you please make a video of the types of reverbs and when to use them please..Thanks again.
Roswell mics kick some serious _butt-a-fucco_ !!
Great little jam there, too... the StevieW style vocal, guitar&bass are all tight in the pocket :O)
Wow, Fantastic Demo Chris, and the song is too nice! wonderful Demo of the mic, Sounds too good on All Source. To impressed with your Video and the Demo. Thanks a ton for posting such a great Video and to all your Artistes who performed the song. I use the K47 for Voice and Recording Indian Instruments. Thank you again Chris. Awesome Video. Very highly recommend this Mic.
Many thanks!
Thanks man that was informative
Of course!
Awesome Mic! A great affordable line by Roswell! I wish they would make a K-87X as well. I wonder why they've held back from doing a transformer circuit on that one?
Sounds great, Chris. I'd like to see an option that rolls off the high end a little closer to a U67... or as I perceive it, a faster roll off after 10 to 12K, might have more "core" in the sound. Just my wish list. I don't want to hear any more extended highs than the classic's (U47, U67, early U87, and AKG 414-BULS) had... especially on voice, saxophone, trumpet, etc. Still, another great product from Roswell!
I believe the idea here was to not have a "clone" but to use the "67" has a basis for this version with extended high end.
I love your song! (is there a version of it with more serious lyrics? :)
Thanks, but no, we made that one for this video and mic only lol!
Super nice mic
For sure! Glad you like it!
IS it possible to get the audio file for vocals?
Hi! What preamplifier and converters did you use for recording, or what sound card?
I used the clean preamps of my Steinberg AXR4 Interface
Where can I find the frequency response of this
It sounds gritty and like it’s missing details in the live sound.
nice Mic Really
It's really good
Trying to decide on delphos or one of the k series for vocals. Any thoughts? I'll be using DI for electric and bass guitar and programming drums. No need to mic instruments other than some acoustic guitar and vocals. I had considered the colares but I don't know if I understand fully what its doing.
The Delphos 2 has a figure8 which is handy when recording guitar and vocal simultaneously with better isolation, among other apps. It's 'faster' and cleaner due to a transformerless circuit. A more versatile workhorse.
Colares is cardiod-only, and shines in its specific domain: flattery of an intimate vocal - same purpose as an M 251 but without a tube.
No I'd recommend this one... You don't need figure 8 for what he's talking about recording! And this one sounds like the more expensive microphone.
I'd love one of these.... does it perform way better than the Rode NT1A?
I don't have a Rode NT1A so I can't compare
Kenny Jobson,
The Rode NT1A, are to my ear are, a bit "clinically" bright and a bit overly hyped on the top end. Yes, they are great for the money, but there are many better mics out there that offer a lot more as you climb up the price/performance tiers. And thanks to Roswell, you don't have to climb far to get far.
If you are like me... I'll always look for the best bang for the buck in a mic and I won't ever just buy a mic because it cost more or a lot more. It's got to provide more than any of it's similar prices or even many of it's pricier competitors for me to consider it and... it has to sound musical and flattering to as many sources as possible so that I can use it in lots of ways and love the results. Roswell creates mics that offer excellent price/performance and provide their customers with different sonic sounds/brushes for engineers to paint with. That's important. that's why many high end studios build $50K-$200K mic "vaults" - For the variety of sonic brushes.
Roswell allows you to do that same thing for pennies on the dollar. The don't make direct knock- off products, but instead make "similar", in the range of classic, coveted expensive mics at a price anyone can afford. Each mic is has it's own unique character that is "similar to" but not identical, just as wonderful, but not exactly the same, as you would get from a much more expensive mic. When viewed as a family of products, what Roswell has done is offer a palate of truly professional and unique sounding mics that give you what you need for many different situations, instruments and artists. These mics are in their own affordable way... priceless.
All the Roswell mics that I've purchased or auditioned are anything but clinical. They are clean and open and are articulate without sounding hyped on the top end with extra "brightness" but you don't feel like you are missing the top end, it's there, just more relaxed and musical. You can boost it up to NT1A levels if you want more air, but they still sound more musical to me. I've got a Mini K47 that sounds great on male voices and would kill on Cello or most caustic instruments but it's often used on acoustic guitar too. Love it! I did a deep audition of a Colares and it is a fantastic vocal mic if you are looking for a warm, yet articulate vintage sound (or a clean modern sound when switched) for... anything! I've not tried the Mini K87 or Delphos but I would say that any of Roswell's mics are a great step forward over the Rode NT1A - even granting that it's a great lower end condenser mic. I would encourage you to try one out... just be prepared that you will probably never let it go!
Best to you.
Fantastic! What Mic Pre and Converters Please?
When I do a mic review, I just use the clean Preamps/Coverters of my sound I interface - the Steinberg AXR4T, so you get what the mic really sounds like without preamp coloration :-)
@@mixdownonline thanks for sharing, it helps when I know that I’m hearing the cleanest interpretation of the mic.
This or the DelphosII?
I didn't know you'd great on the drums
Actually I feel envy of his drumming skills. The good kind of envy.
And the other one, too.
Well, kidding aside, Chris is a pretty good and tasteful drummer. And normally the sound after mixing a drum set is superb.
Thank you very much :-)
I'm actually very happy with my Audio-Technica AT2020. It's crystal clear & I only paid $99. It's now $120. I once has a Shure mic, and I hated the sound! It had way too much mid tone. My current mic sounds very professional.
Yeah! It's an excellent mic!!!
Have you tried a more neutral more expensive sounding Mic yet? It's not just a matter of needing less EQ It actually has the sound... Especially with the transformer circuit... This thing sounds pretty amazing and crazy good for the money
Nothing wrong with using cheap mic until u make it than buy more expensive mics. It’s like wearing most expensive clothes but u don’t know how to model.
Dude. I don't think you understand. That Mic sounds like a Mics that cost three times the asking price! Roswell's affordable line is awesome! Really good components and made in California. Some of the best under $1,000 mics. Particularly the ones with the transformer circuit like this one. Someone easily might like it more on their voice than a u87 AI...
Just listener to it again on a good system... That Mic sounds amazing! What did you listen to the video on?!😅
@@ramspencer5492 I own a stam87 now pretty good mic sound as good as vintage u87.
