My take away from it is that for a $55 figure, the paint job on the heads has got to be spot on, perfect, specially considering that it's a figure without little details that normal human beings have, like eyelids, eyebrows, eyelashes, wrinkles, lips etc.
I'm glad you liked it. 🙂 I've been picking up their TMNT figures on sale lately, and I'm really liking those figures, as someone who grew up with the Playmates line. I probably wouldn't be as happy with them at full price (aside from some of the bulkier figures like Beebop and Rocksteady. Those two do feel like $50-55 figures. Also Muckman and Joe Eyeball), but the $25-30 range that I've been buying them at is definitely the sweet spot. I probably would've gone as high as $40 for Slash and Mutagen Man, but I lucked out and found both of them at $30 each. I've got the Triceraton on preorder because that one looks like a great deal at $55. At some point I need to get Spaceman Raph. I have the classic figure, and I got the Mutant Mayhem 4-pack that had him in it as well, so the S7 version would be pretty cool to get. My one wish list figure would be Groundchuck. I don't know if it was designed that way on purpose, but I used to pose one of his legs out, and spin his lower half around for tornado kicks, or spin his top half around for tornado punches. That was the reason it was my favorite figure. lol

Awesome! A great figure from a great episode of a show that used to be so great. Deep Space Homer was smackdown in the middle of when The Simpsons was at its high point, and one of my personal favourites. When I think of what this show has become after season 10 (and frankly, it started declining around season 8 already), it just makes me sad that this puppy is not yet put to sleep. Thank goodness that figures like this exist to remind us of the show’s true greatness.
I would like to go back and watch these older episodes to see if they are as good as our memories suggest. Sometimes that isn’t the case as we get older, but the feeling of watching the show back then is certainly missed!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I regularly re-watch the first 10 season and it really is a drastic difference by the end of season 10. Not that everything after that was bad, there were still very good episodes sprinkled in between, but the drop in overal quality was definitely starting to show. Even when I was a kid (I'm 40 now) I noticed a drastic change between season 6 and 7, so I know it's not nostalgia that clouds my judgment as I noticed it then too. The funny thing is that the new writing staff that came around season 7-8 really had the intention to 'destroy' the show. There's an audio commentary for 'The Principal and the Pauper' on the season 8 DVD going into great detail on that (it's probably the only show I love watching with the commentaries 😅) . I think they were the last people who'd expected the show going on for another 25 years. Sorry for the long comment BTW, this show meant the world to me back in the day and greatly inspired me.
@@jarosbodytko6462 wow, this is great. Thank you for sharing this. I’m blown away that they actually tried to destroy the show. Aside from that team of jerks what do you think caused the switch long term? Just different writers all in all?
@@NostalgiaUnboxed haha, ‘team of jerks’ 😂 I don’t think there was any maliciousness to it, Matt Groening was on board with it too. I just think they wanted to shake things up. Back then, The Simpsons was known for rattling cages with their humor, basically trying to get away with stuff other shows couldn’t. Their political commentary, tendency to roast famous people or poking fun at other cultures was something that caused the occasional outrage (like the famous ‘feud’ with George Bush senior who made a speech about wishing America was more like The Waltons and less like The Simpsons, to which Bart replied they were exactly like The Waltons, both praying for the end of the recession). Anyway, The Simpsons liked to step on people’s toes and I think trying to ‘destroy’ the show was their way to step on the toes of the fans, which makes sense in a way (if you have a show that insults everyone, logically they have to insult themselves and their fans too). Which is why I can appreciate those later seasons (season 8-12) as well, as I get what they were going for. I think it just got out of hand after that. New writers coming in at later points might not have been as familiar with the earlier seasons and saw the new direction as the new standard, possibly? And God knows that in the last 2 decades sensitivities in comedy have changed a lot and that the outrage back then was nothing compared to what it is now. A couple of angry fan letters is nothing compared to the horror that is social media. I guess the worst thing for me, besides the lesser quality in animation, humor and writing, is just how that show lost it’s edge. Back in the day, they weren’t afraid to give the nay-sayers a big F* You, and carry on as they did before. Now, they just cave under pressure, like the whole Apu debacle a few years ago or the whole pandering to Disney after they bought Fox. Man, I’ve made myself sad now 😅
This does look really good. I can't afford another line, though. And I feel like super7 oversells on the first wave or two of their lines, then the quality dips significantly.
That’s probably the case, which is heartbreaking when you’re trying to finish up a line. That means the normal versions of the main Simpsons family will be awful 😂
Dammit and I thought i'd free myself from Neca's evil grasp! I call him Necator! Well you got me again Necator, because I want a copy of Space Homie!!! Complete with chips!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed it’s my favorite toy line ever. I have nearly the entire line and know it well. There are very few instances on anything where there is sloppy paint… everything is really tight especially for a 5 inch line. They occasionally have scale issues… but it’s rare.
I appreciate the review. It figures Super7 would succeed in a line I don't care about. 😄 Is the figure worth the cost? I am no longer willing to pay full price for anything from Super7. Any chance you'll review the Boss Fight Studio Popeye line? Amazon has the first wave for $19.99 each.

i like the way you review, but i do think you put a bit too much value in articulation since posing is pretty much another value for the same category. i've seen a couple reviews now where you really love a figure but the lack of articulation does tank it's score a bit, all meaningless numbers of course but that is my take on it. as for the line the Kang and Kodos look amazing but i'm just holding out for Hans Moleman and Disco Stu.
That’s fair! I have thought about it a couple times, but I think it’s still holding some value to see a score. A lot of people don’t care about posing beyond a stiff, standing setup and that’s ok. At the end of the day, it’s about “is it worth it”, I think. Some items I love like Alf ranked the same as this, but he is a must own. Others have ranked nearly perfect, but I didn’t think they were worth their price. I don’t know how to change it up from here though. Thanks for the input!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed i do like the way you do it, and i'm not against a score but yeah i suppose the "worth it" is the best breakdown of how much you like something. it was ALF that got me thinking of this as you clearly loved it but it ranked almost the same as some of the figures you really seemed unhappy with, so it stuck out to me. regardless of that keep it up as i have really been enjoying you channel since i came across it.

Man, I’ve made myself sad now 😅
BTW. Interesting to hear you’re an artist. What kind of work do you do, and do you have an Insta or something where we can follow you?
This does look really good. I can't afford another line, though. And I feel like super7 oversells on the first wave or two of their lines, then the quality dips significantly.
That’s probably the case, which is heartbreaking when you’re trying to finish up a line. That means the normal versions of the main Simpsons family will be awful 😂
Dammit and I thought i'd free myself from Neca's evil grasp! I call him Necator! Well you got me again Necator, because I want a copy of Space Homie!!! Complete with chips!
Haha! Well, Super7, but you should indeed get one!
Can't wait for the $55 Maggie.
😂😂😂😂 that sounds about right
@@BooshmanLee exactly!
Seems like the old playmates world of Springfield line had tighter paint apps then these super7 figs.
I will need to check those out. I saw a couple in some photos from other folks on Twitter, but didn’t look well enough at them
@@NostalgiaUnboxed it’s my favorite toy line ever. I have nearly the entire line and know it well. There are very few instances on anything where there is sloppy paint… everything is really tight especially for a 5 inch line. They occasionally have scale issues… but it’s rare.
@@michaelcorsiniart I can forgive them for scale issues when you consider it all (price, size, etc). Sounds like a great line
$35! I have him in my pile. I might keep it. I got bartman on EEarth for $39. Sux this line stopped. Didn’t get the cast (family) in normal clothes
I know! Such a bummer
Where did you get your action figure stand from?
Play arts Kai
love the figure got to get my hands on one
Yes! And a very fitting profile picture haha
@@NostalgiaUnboxed thank you
Omg that happens with my super 7 raph 3:14
Oh no!
Love your reviews my friend. I was on the fence about these Super 7 figures but might have to get me some. Here in Australia though they're $100.
That's wild! It's very hard to love any Super7, especially at that price
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I'm with you. I don't normally like their stuff at all but these aren't too bad.
I appreciate the review.
It figures Super7 would succeed in a line I don't care about. 😄
Is the figure worth the cost? I am no longer willing to pay full price for anything from Super7.
Any chance you'll review the Boss Fight Studio Popeye line? Amazon has the first wave for $19.99 each.
Those are great prices. They are not on my list as of right now though. Hard to ever say “no” at that price
Just recorded a video of Boss Fight Studio’s Popeye! I’ll likely get that out in a couple days! Thanks to a friend that sent it to me
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Fantastic! Thanks to your friend. I look forward to watching. I ordered the entire first wave through Amazon, as I couldn't pass on their price.
@@JeremiahWMartin definitely worth it at $20 a piece!
He's $27.50 on BBTS right now!
Worth it!!
This line is weird. Bc S7 for some reason started with deep cut versions of characters. Instead of the core characters.
And that would be the downfall of the line
I’m tired of waiting for wave 5 (normal Marge, Normal Lisa, Willie) 😭😭😭
I know!! So slow to get these other waves out
"They have a never-ending supply of figures to really include."
Sad this didn't age well because the line was cancelled :(
@@laynalazarsnumber1fan “didn’t age well” isn’t my problem lol
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I was showing sympathy for the line getting cancelled, no need to be rude
@@laynalazarsnumber1fan then a misunderstanding
Man I have so many Ziploc bags around my house with just one accessory in them! It is insane
At least you can find them!
@@NostalgiaUnboxed yeah
I find it very interesting Super 7 chose particular versions of the Simpson’s to make figures of….i hope another company can make or finish what Super 7 stopped….would NECA be brave enough to take on this franchise?!?!
I wish they would!
I need a Milhouse and Nelson in my life…I am being serious😂😂😂
i like the way you review, but i do think you put a bit too much value in articulation since posing is pretty much another value for the same category. i've seen a couple reviews now where you really love a figure but the lack of articulation does tank it's score a bit, all meaningless numbers of course but that is my take on it. as for the line the Kang and Kodos look amazing but i'm just holding out for Hans Moleman and Disco Stu.
@@MrYac-ie8ie I appreciate that and the feedback. I’ll keep thinking about alternatives in the meantime
I would spend money on a brain figure if super seven ever made family guy
Haha, who knows! Maybe this and hopefully Futurama. Then some Family Guy?
@@NostalgiaUnboxed sure whatever order and easy first wave would be the family
@@NostalgiaUnboxed if they did Brian can come with a book laptop glasses a while glass etc
@@ianpruneau6273 which they probably wouldn’t do. Haha. Still no family of the Simpsons in regular clothes. So weird
@@ianpruneau6273 I’m down!
Great video bro! Yeah Moe is way better then this figure. Don't get .e wrong this Homer is pretty kool but Moe crushes it far as detail and accessories and all around koolness.
Interesting, I actually like this Homer more. Haha. Both are great though
INANIMATE CARBON ROD!! awesome... i considered hopping into this line, but i hate super 7 now , thank god cause this line will probably get deep... if super 7 does futurama though i will definitely be in on whoever makes the futurama toys!
We definitely need some good Futurama stuff! Fry and Bender would be enough for me though. I have to give Super7 the props where it’s deserved, but maybe this was just so far beyond my expectations I overshot it and loved it. 😂
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I'm not doubting this one is better than other super 7 .. but fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me ..i seriously hope the quality consistently goes up because they have a lot of properties I'm interested in .. I'm not opposed to coming back if they really do turn it around
@@hexisabeast agreed. Seeing Andre the Giant and the Power Rangers that landed a couple weeks ago doesn’t convince of anything being better, but maybe just lucky. ☹️
since you like space, are you collecting cosmic legions figures?
I can't. I love their stuff, but I gotta have some self control somewhere lol
Love it but I would rather have just the normal version of all of the simpsons
Right there with you. They did announce a regular Marge, Lisa, and Maggie
@@NostalgiaUnboxed thank god hopefully they do a regular bart and homer for me that is all I need but $55 yikes that's a lot for the smaller characters and they don't give them more accessories for that high price point
@@mr.countdooku I know. It’s insane for sure. Buying on sale is ideal and I need a Bart for my latest arcade I made. Larry the Looter!
Man! How do you afford all these ultimates! UA-cam must be paying you very well!!
Not at all! Many of them are from my friends that send them to me. Homer and Moe are mine though
Hey sir
Are you the RDC nostalgia?????!!!
