Barf (natural food) is awesome! You can find it in freezers of some pet shops or just Google for a good webshop that sends it as most shops don't. If she likes it -and if you want to feed it- prey animals are great as well as they get a lot more organs and bone from those. They're also mixed into the freezer rolls (Berfmenu, lotgering, Tammenga, Kobo are the main brands i think) to some extent, but not really enough. There are several weekmenu's available online though!
I remember when I first got a dog I was so over the moon because I had longed one for so long (and I was like 11 or 12) but it's been like 8-9 years now, and I still feel so happy and lucky that I got to be with her (and now even more because of the virus) and even luckier that she's my dog like I can't believe (and I might sound cheesy) that I have really like a best friend that is loyal, funny, loving and warm; and remember “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole” so I hope you cherish every moment with her.
We use step up natural dog food from pets at home and it’s just kibble so we put boiling water on that and wait for it to cool down and for tea we give my dog that with meat on top. It’s so good he loves it xx my dog is a minature dachshund so a small dog too x
I have a rescue dog, he's a pug!!! a wee tip for training is to buy a bell on eBay, it hangs on the door. when ur dog needs out encourage her to ring the bell and let you know. we've done this with mine since he was a puppy, he's now 2 and rings it when he needs the toilet, fed or watered 😂😂it helped massively!! best of luck with ur new wee bundle of joy Xxx
i work at an animal rescue centre and it’s lovely to see animals so happy in their forever homes! so many people want little kittens and puppies and it’s so heartbreaking to see the older animals with no one to love them!
We have a rescue dog too. We have a German Shepherd who came from a British family in Spain. Only thing was because they had an acre of land, she had never been lead trained, they never bothered to teach her to sit or anything like that. Our eldest kid actually trained her in the end. We've had her over 4yrs now, and she is my baby. I almost cried during the vlog! Pinky is such a little love
This video has honestly made me so happy! it makes me so happy to know that my favourite youtuber has such a love for animals and doesn't just go for the trend, instagramable dogs. I am so happy you are promoting rescue centres and charities!! I love you 10000 times more now xxx
She’s absolutely gorgeous, we got a rescue dog nearly a year ago now and he had skin issues and was really fussy with food I would recommend ‘butternut box’ for food it comes frozen and u put it in ur freezer then into ur fridge when u want to use it it’s made up of food that humans could eat and it’s very good for dogs and they also love it hope that helps love you soph xxx
We rescued a dog from Romania 7 years ago and it was the best thing we ever did! She was about 1-2 years when we got her. We have had some issues with her because she needed surgery on her back legs quite soon after getting her but it’s made the world of difference. She is a nervous dog around people, dogs and moving lights. But miles better from when we got her In terms of food we feed grain free (mainly because of our other dog who has to be fed grain-feed) and we just feed dry mostly. I think the main thing to look out for is to just get her insured and then take her to the vets and get her checked out. Just to make sure there aren’t any issues from malnutrition, because even though rescue centres in Romania try their best they just have so many dogs to look after. Our rescue is now an older lady who is starting to slow down a little bit she is still the sweetest thing who would loves lying on the sofa with us
i got a puppy in june and he is the best thing to happen to me physical and mentally. he hates the car tho he suffers from travel sickness. teddy is 6 months now its mad how time flies. she is gorgeous soph congrats
My little Sky loves Lily’s kitchen we prefer the dry one cause it doesn’t smell and has natural ingredients but they also have like cottage pie and everything
Lily’s kitchen is now full of nasties since it’s been bought out by Nestle. Since the takeover they’ve sourced cheaper ingredients and it’s now full of unnecessary fillers that do more bad than good. Unfortunately they don’t tell you about these things :(
I'm SO happy you adopted and didn't buy a puppy. Adoption is the way forward, buying a puppy is supporting people who care for money, not the animals. I'm genuinely so happy you adopted 💙 she's absolutely beautiful
Omg, I am so happy that there are people wanting to adopt dogs from Romania, we do have a problem with stray dogs and cats unfourtunately... I wish our government cared more about this poor souls. I hope you will be very happy with your new puppy, I have adopted 2 stray cats and are precious animals, they make my life so much more fun. 🧡
Me and my partner raw fed our springer puppy from about 6 months old. We use Bella and Duke just because it is so easy. They tell you exactly how much to feed and it's all ready prepared to go straight into the bowl and my boy absolutely loves it! He gets so excited at meal times 🥰🥰
Congratulations, she's adorable and will be the happiest pup with you and James ❤ could you do a little video or information around the charity you used and how to find them ect. As I want to get a rescue dog in the near future so would be good to look at them as an option...
I live in cyprus and nine years ago me and my husband decided to get our first dog from a rescue center in limassol cyprus . I cant believe it its like im looking at my dogs double . Its bringing back memories of holding my nervous dog in the car the day we got her . Yes your right she is an ancient greek dog called a cocconi . If you watch another youtuber in london called estee londe she also recently got the same rescue dog from greece . These dogs are very clever and so loving . So happy for you both !
we adopted our dog from romania 2 years ago now & im in floods of tears watching this remembering the emotions I went through when I went to pick her up! she was just as timid & scared, it’s amazing how quick they can settle in, just remember to be patient with her. as for her breed, we eventually ended up getting our girl DNA tested & it was concluded that there were too many breeds in her heritage to even get an accurate result, it definitely could be the case for your angel too! At the end of the day, whatever she is, you have done a beautiful job giving her a much better life than she could have had over there! rescue dogs are truly the best 🖤
she is so precious! I got a rescue cat called Dory about 2 months ago and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. She’s so affectionate and loving and absolutely perfect. Go with rescue!!
She’s perfect Soph, I’m so happy for you and James she’s going to have the best life with you two. It’s genuinely so heartwarming to see rescue dogs finding their forever home. Im definitely going to consider adopting a rescue one day x
Awe! I got my Romanian rescue when he was 4 months, he’s now 8 months and has the most amazing personality! There’s a lot of horror stories about adopting dogs from abroad, but my champ and his other rommie friends and brilliant bunch, would recommend it to anyone 💕
Omg I sobbed at the video. We rescued our two little kittens and it was the best thing we ever did. I would recommend James well beloved biscuits. The vet is always complimenting the quality of our fur babies fur and teeth so it’s deffo worth looking into. All natural xx
She is adorable! Regarding dog food, have a look into Bella and Duke! Amazing company! It is raw food that you keep in the freezer! Best diet for a dog! I am happy to help if you have any questions!
I’m so so so happy you decided to adopt, so many influencers buy expensive breeds - usually tiny puppies, when there are so many dogs in shelters desperate for a chance. You guys are amazing. Honestly teared up when you were comforting her in the car 😭😭😭 xxx
I’m so glad your rescuing/rehoming because I always believe (just my opinion) it better and you always see influencers buying dogs when There are so many that are just as good and need homes!
We rescued a senior Boston terrier from a horrible home. She was one of the best dogs I ever had. She changed so much over the last few years of her life. Traveled everywhere. I’m so happy for you guys! This puppy is gonna have an amazing family
Omg been watching Pinky’s instagram stories and it is so clear she is already so in love with you guys and you with her🥺 what a little ray of sunshine she is✨✨✨
I am from Romania and, yes, I can confirm that we have a bit of a problem with stray dogs. There are rescue places, shelters and stuff but not all of them are that great. Of course, we have organisations and shelters, mostly, that are really good environments for dogs. Unfortunately, some of them are not. There are people and people, some fight for dogs and some abandon them. There's not really much you can do in order to change the way they're seeing things. I love you even more now. I am so glad that you and James decided to adopt. It is such a beautiful thing to do. I am watching your video now with my puppy, Toby, and he is completely amazed by the little one :>
aww, pinky is so cute!! she will bring so much joy to you and James’s life!! pinky will share so many memories with you and she will be extremely happy to go to a loving home!! 💗
I have a husky cross with an Alaskan malamute and he’s on a raw diet, so we get raw mince delivered to the house which we keep in the freezer from this dog food lady and then we boil and mash veg that he can have e.g. sweet potato, carrot, broccoli. We just googled and spoke to the vets about quantities of each. Hope that helps with pinky’s food! She’s adorable🥰
Definitely get the raw food you put in the freezer, I have it for my rescue dog, he was so skinny when we first got him.. a year later hes a new dog 🐶🐶💖💖
Natural instinct is what we feed our 5 month old miniature dachshund. He loves it! Completely natural and it’s full of health benefits. 10/10 would recommend x
So happy for you, my beagle baby boy was 13 and a half, he passed away from kidney failure this June, I'm heart broken, they bring so much joy, he was on Burns dog food, really good for them, organic & pure, read up or ask your vet, I have friends that had dogs with tummy problems, they changed to Burns & they had great results, hope this helps, have lots of fun with your new fur baby 🐾❤🐾❤🐾
it makes me so happy that you are showing your journey to adopt/ get a rescue dog! there are way too many breeders and way too many dogs in rescue places! we have a rescue dog we got as a puppy who is now 10 and i would only get rescue dogs now! You can also get a DNA test done for the dog to see what breed they are if you want to find out! ❤️ Can’t wait to see future vlogs of her growing up, she looks so happy already!! xxx
It says a lot about who James is as a man that he is so sweet and tender with pinky. You got yourself a real sensitive man who’s in touch with his feelings which to me means a lot because there’s nothing worse than a man who’s all macho and denies the way they feel. He’s a lovely guy and u three gonna be very happy for sure. Xxx
Hiya Soph! So exciting!! I know you’ve had her a while now but thought I’d comment because I’m only just watching this video! We have a Lhasa Apso (a small dog) and we feed him chicken and veg and it works out so cheap compared to buying dog food like kibble! We give him chicken, courgette, carrots, green beans, peas and we add in rice every now and then too! 🥰 we serve him half a cup and he loves it!
Best part of having a dog for the last 7 years is travel with it, my dog is a support dog and has to be with me. Leaving my rescue baby beagle at home after the was she was abused by testing centres is not an option 🥰🤗 me and my partner have been so blessed with her, its the most amazing time ever especially with lock down❤️ Also don't let her pee on the grass, she we stain it yellow 😂
So so pleased to hear a public figure like yourself ADOPTING!! It’s very rare to see any ‘influencers’ adopting rather than buying from breeders, so so happy for you both❤️
Vet nurse here 🙋♀️ food wise, I’d recommend Hills, Royal Canin or Purina Pro Plan. They have life stage diets (puppy, adolescent, adult etc) as well as prescription diets if Pinky ever needed this in the future. They are nutritionally balanced and developed my veterinary experts, and are very good quality foods! It can sometimes be a bit of trial and error finding what each individual dog prefers and what agrees with them. Always make sure any diet change is gradual (over a week or two ideally) to minimize risk of stomach upsets. There’s no reason that you can’t mix in some natural food/ meat with kibble as long as the calories are balanced. I’m sure you’ve already done lots of research, you seem really well prepared for your pooch! In terms of training, lots of positive reinforcement (and patience) is best! Clicker training is also really good if she’s showing signs of wanting to work for her reward. She’s such a cutie and looks like she’s definitely landed on her feet 🥰
we rescued our dog from Spain, there's so many charities out there! mine is the best thing that has ever happened to me. arrived at 3 am! I love It that you did this and are shining a light on these great organisations!!
I’m so happy for you! Having a dog is the best! My dog is the family dog. It would be been a good idea if we gotten it when I was in high school instead of college, a couple years ago😂I’m taking care of him 80% of the time but he’s a cutie patootie 3.5 yro GSD so it’s ok I suppose😂
ah shes really sweet. you wont regret getting her i have 2 rescue dogs and getting them was the best thing i have ever done, i cant have children so these are my fur babies, i hope she brings you lots of joy.xxx
I rescued my dog when I was seventeen. My parents signed the adoption papers as I was under eighteen but then the rest of her registration with the vets, microchip etc all went in my name. She moved out with me one year later when I was eighteen. She’s been the best thing to ever happen to me. I was in such a rough place at the time and she genuinely saved me. She became my hero, my guardian, my therapist, my soulmate and best friend. I’m so here for you guys rooting for rescues because more people with bigger platforms need to do this! It’s recently just turned seven years since I rescued her and I’ve tagged you in the post on Instagram just so you can see how special she is! 💙

I have rescued twice now and it is the best feeling. Thank for spreading the message of rescue adoptions! Both were/are chihuahuas and like I said they filled my heart. The first dog was named Red but we changed it to Chico and It totally fit, the second we kept the Name Paco and that also fits perfect. Have so much fun. Congrats! She is ADORABLE!............maybe a corgi?
Soph she is so cute!! Please do some research into feeding and always take into account a veterinarians advice, there is a lot of misinformation on the internet. Also I would recommend getting decent pet insurance too :) I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse if you need any advice! 💕 x
Shouldn’t have watched this on my period, crying soooo much over the life those dogs had in other counties and how they are getting a better life 😭😭. So happy for you guys, she’s the cutest thing
Hey Soph, if you’re wondering about what dog food to get, this website is really useful for telling you about the nutritional content of the food www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/the-dog-food-directory Originally I stuck to the dog food the rescue centre gave my dog, but my dog trainer recommended trying a better quality one without as many unnatural ingredients (so help her calm down a bit 😂). My dog really likes the new “millies wolfheart” food - it’s a bit more pricey, but much better for her in the long run.
I’m from Romania, I’m a volunteer in an Animal Rescue Organization and most of our rescues get rehomed in the UK. That’s mostly because of the amazing way people treat dogs in the UK compared to Romania, where they mostly are viewed simply as pets. I really hope everything will be amazing with the pup, as I’m sure she will be forever grateful for you giving her a forever home 🥰. Thank you for choosing to adopt 🐶

They're also mixed into the freezer rolls (Berfmenu, lotgering, Tammenga, Kobo are the main brands i think) to some extent, but not really enough. There are several weekmenu's available online though!
She’s so precious she looks like she’s always got a little smile going on 🥺
doesn’t she 🥺🥺
I remember when I first got a dog I was so over the moon because I had longed one for so long (and I was like 11 or 12) but it's been like 8-9 years now, and I still feel so happy and lucky that I got to be with her (and now even more because of the virus) and even luckier that she's my dog like I can't believe (and I might sound cheesy) that I have really like a best friend that is loyal, funny, loving and warm; and remember “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole” so I hope you cherish every moment with her.
Not gonna lie I cried a bit when you said "we're gonna give you the best life" aw soph, she's so beautiful ❤️
Yes! This is such a good tool to use when house training your dog. My dog just taps me with his paw then looks at the window, that's how he tells me 😆
Yes this really works!
omg that’s amazing!! thank you xx
@@sophdoesvlogs it works wonders!!! I definitely reccomend xxx
@@ali_hoochthepooch6780 my dog will now ring his bell for anything 😂😂😂
She wasn’t even phased at all by new owners. So happy for you soph she is gorgeous 🥰🥰
Looks like a golden retriever / corgi mix. She's absolutely adorable!
i work at an animal rescue centre and it’s lovely to see animals so happy in their forever homes! so many people want little kittens and puppies and it’s so heartbreaking to see the older animals with no one to love them!
Cannot express how happy I am that you chose to rescue, so amazing🤍
We have a rescue dog too. We have a German Shepherd who came from a British family in Spain. Only thing was because they had an acre of land, she had never been lead trained, they never bothered to teach her to sit or anything like that. Our eldest kid actually trained her in the end. We've had her over 4yrs now, and she is my baby. I almost cried during the vlog! Pinky is such a little love
I just got a rescue dog from Spain like a week ago! love her so much 💕 rescuing a dog is such an amazing and kind thing ☺️
But miles better from when we got her
In terms of food we feed grain free (mainly because of our other dog who has to be fed grain-feed) and we just feed dry mostly. I think the main thing to look out for is to just get her insured and then take her to the vets and get her checked out. Just to make sure there aren’t any issues from malnutrition, because even though rescue centres in Romania try their best they just have so many dogs to look after.
Our rescue is now an older lady who is starting to slow down a little bit she is still the sweetest thing who would loves lying on the sofa with us
It’s so sweet how passionate James is about rescue dogs, you can really tell when he was speaking. Super super excited for you, she’s gorgeous xx
i got a puppy in june and he is the best thing to happen to me physical and mentally. he hates the car tho he suffers from travel sickness. teddy is 6 months now its mad how time flies. she is gorgeous soph congrats
My little Sky loves Lily’s kitchen we prefer the dry one cause it doesn’t smell and has natural ingredients but they also have like cottage pie and everything
my border loves lily’s kitchen too!
Just so you know, lillys kitchen was bought by nestle and the quality of the food has dropped dramaticly
Lily’s kitchen is now full of nasties since it’s been bought out by Nestle. Since the takeover they’ve sourced cheaper ingredients and it’s now full of unnecessary fillers that do more bad than good. Unfortunately they don’t tell you about these things :(
My dog loves this as well
I'm SO happy you adopted and didn't buy a puppy.
aww thank you❤️
Me and my partner raw fed our springer puppy from about 6 months old.
Makes me so happy you recused!!! So many amazing dogs need homes!! She is so sweet 🥺❤️❤️❤️
we adopted our dog from romania 2 years ago now & im in floods of tears watching this remembering the emotions I went through when I went to pick her up! she was just as timid & scared, it’s amazing how quick they can settle in, just remember to be patient with her. as for her breed, we eventually ended up getting our girl DNA tested & it was concluded that there were too many breeds in her heritage to even get an accurate result, it definitely could be the case for your angel too! At the end of the day, whatever she is, you have done a beautiful job giving her a much better life than she could have had over there! rescue dogs are truly the best 🖤
She’s so cute I’m so excited to watch!! Glad you’ve got a little furry friend xxx
she is so precious!
I have a rescue dog from Cyprus who is also a Kokoni crossed with a Dashaund, we also kept her name Twiggy
Honestly teared up when you were comforting her in the car 😭😭😭 xxx
the way she just smiles during the whole thing is adorable!!
I’m so glad your rescuing/rehoming because I always believe (just my opinion) it better and you always see influencers buying dogs when There are so many that are just as good and need homes!
She definitely looks like a kokoni, my friends have them and she’s so similar 🥰
lauren thornborrow what mix is this ?
@@laurenbee5804 kokoni isn't a mix its just a regular breed 💕
We rescued a senior Boston terrier from a horrible home. She was one of the best dogs I ever had. She changed so much over the last few years of her life. Traveled everywhere.
I’m so happy for you guys! This puppy is gonna have an amazing family
Poor James at the beginning. Soph ya cut him off twice. Hahhahaha I also do this to my partner 😂
Hahah I knowww I realised this when editing, I was just too excited 😂🙈
Omg been watching Pinky’s instagram stories and it is so clear she is already so in love with you guys and you with her🥺 what a little ray of sunshine she is✨✨✨
She's cute, looks like a cross between a corgi, part dashing , we had one when growing up
@@ariannamaple8228 she doesnt have any features of a jack russell
I had a cat called pinky we thought she was a girl many months later when she went to the vets for a check up we found out our cat was a boy 🥲
I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on a video as quick in my life ahahahh 😭😭
Same
me too😭so happy for them they’re such a lovely little family💕💕
it makes me so happy that you are showing your journey to adopt/ get a rescue dog! there are way too many breeders and way too many dogs in rescue places! we have a rescue dog we got as a puppy who is now 10 and i would only get rescue dogs now! You can also get a DNA test done for the dog to see what breed they are if you want to find out! ❤️
Can’t wait to see future vlogs of her growing up, she looks so happy already!! xxx
I've never clicked so quickly on a video!! She's so cute!!
Xxx
Looks like she’s going to be a daddies girl lol. She’s the cutest. 🐾❤️
Leaving my rescue baby beagle at home after the was she was abused by testing centres is not an option 🥰🤗 me and my partner have been so blessed with her, its the most amazing time ever especially with lock down❤️
Also don't let her pee on the grass, she we stain it yellow 😂
Totally agree! (vet student here)
we rescued our dog from Spain, there's so many charities out there! mine is the best thing that has ever happened to me. arrived at 3 am! I love It that you did this and are shining a light on these great organisations!!
our rescue is from Spain too 🥰
I’m so happy for you!
300 applicants per dog that's crazy! How amazing! and omg she's so cute!!!
a dogs tail never lies!!! you guys are gunna be the best dog parents ever!!! ngl sobbed thru this entire video
Awww I rescued my cat from Vietnam! Fell in love with her while I lived there and took her back on my lap on the plane ❤
You’re lucky with the name lol. Saw a dog on the RSCPA website once called dipstick 😭😭
We feed our dog a mix of Canagan dry food mixed with Pooch & Mutt wet food !! Also couldn’t stop the tears when you said you’re going to give her the best life 🥺 so happy for you all !!!! She is gorgeous 🥺
Questions of the day She is so cute and sweet I have two dogs one springer spanyle and a coca-poo soph here is the question part if you didn't call her pinky what would you call her also u love your vids they make me so much happier and see you next time by stay safe and well to you three bye
We use Nutro dog food. The first ingredient is chicken and it's pretty natural. My dog LOVES it
Omg I’m from Romania🥰 she is so cute by the way, I also have a dog and this video literally made me so emotional🥺❤️
Ditto, looks like we’re on the same mission. A fellow RVN!
I'm a student vet nurse! In my last year 😊
@@mariaalltheway Yay for VNs! 😁 good luck for your OSCE's!
Shouldn’t have watched this on my period, crying soooo much over the life those dogs had in other counties and how they are getting a better life 😭😭. So happy for you guys, she’s the cutest thing
Hey Soph, if you’re wondering about what dog food to get, this website is really useful for telling you about the nutritional content of the food
www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/the-dog-food-directory
Originally I stuck to the dog food the rescue centre gave my dog, but my dog trainer recommended trying a better quality one without as many unnatural ingredients (so help her calm down a bit 😂).
Get a dog DNA test! They are really amazing. You can get one through your vet or can get one on Amazon
I'm actually crying. I'm so happy for you
Looks like she's going to be a daddy's girl lol, she definitely looks like a kokoni, I think that's what my girl is ( also from Romania) xx
OMG HER LITTLE LEGS💕💕💕...Soph, u and James are just too perfect and so lovable.. she is the perfect compliment and companion for you two..she couldn’t have found a more perfect and loving parents...my heart is going to explode from the love💕💖💕
Poor James keeps trying to talk and you keep talking over him lol. Gorgeous pup ❤️
I got a Romanian rescue in August and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done! I’m so happy to see others doing the same❤️
