The fight between Hell and the Knights was really like Endgame so, hmm
Killing his own creator, that's sheer badassery that only fits the slayer.
Him saying no was badass, It may be nothing to anybody else but it was still badass to me!
When he loses his power you can see the anger go out of him. He goes from an angry expression to one of peace and calm.
Thank god he was just put away and not killed, it made him look like even more of a badass
Not even god himself could kill him.
What makes you think that after that, anyone would be stupid enough to even try?
Got me a little teary eyed when the father said, "...even you".
You got teary eyed? Pathetic.
I SOOOOOOBBBBED. DOOM is so precious to me, to all of us even the Slayer. Even him...
He’s not dead he can’t he’s to angry all the time they will make more games he saw the coffin being closed on him
So basically, due to the Doom Slayer being made by the dark lord and having all these superpowers from him...
By killing his physical form, he not only made every demon disappear, he lost a part of himself and his strength (which caused him to collapse on the floor).
And due to his relation to the Dark Lord (aside from Divinity machine, such thought comes to mind when you realize Doomguy looks exactly like the Dark Lord and was OP enough long before the divinity machine even took place) and Hell, Father decided to seal him away in case Hell is going to go on another rampage one more time, so he could end it (simply putting it, he is a gun that was used and then locked in the safe until it's needed again)
So much for the Happy Ending... Kind of fitting though
"He chose the path of perpetual torment..."
Guess it was foreshadowing all this time.
Finally someone with logical thinking.Father didn't betrayed him just Doom guy once he killed Dark Lord he became a normal man and he would just die,so sealing him is the best option. If anything in future happends he will be relased.
I think Doom Slayer knew full well what would happend. And he knew Dark Lord was good at some point. But because of betrayal of father he went on rampage.
how are we sure he lost his strength not just knocked out by the father because if they need him his just a normal man right they wont need him

Welp the Dark Lord turning out to be god was a hard twist
If its any consultation, now instead of saying doomslayer killed the dark lord, we can say *Doom guy fucking killed god with a wrist sword*
Yeah, and not one I enjoyed personally. Before you all flame me for negativity, hear me out. Ancient Gods 1 had great lore, the Father and Davoth were compelling as heck in the lore for AG1. AG2 said all that was a lie, which I didn’t quite like as it eradicated the previous context instead of building on what it said. EDIT: Aight, y’all convinced me on the Dark Lord still being a bad guy. However, what still confuses me is that if Davoth was God, why couldn’t he have just granted immortality for his people without the need for the creation of the Maykrs? Also, I still really liked AG1’s characterization of Father and Davoth, and thought that the twist was entirely unnecessary to the lore as the characters were already pretty compelling, and the lore could have instead focused on building up the final battle as something almost Biblical, the Slayer was beginning to get hyped up as a Messiah in Reclaimed Earth and I felt the crux of the lore could have brought that to its logical conclusion by explaining the God-cells in Doomguy’s body talked about in ARC Complex, as well as explaining Doomguy and Dark Lord of Evil Dave’s relation, and I feel like those feelings might have influenced the flawed logic of my previous statements, which, after reflection, I admit was really dumb in retrospect. Davoth did everything wrong.
@Gamer Ps0 yeah, really liked AG as a whole, to me the highs and lows were flipped for AG1 and AG2. AG1 started off strong both musically and gameplay wise, but gradually weakened, culminating in the still-stressful-months-later Samur fight, whereas AG2 kicks off with a bang gameplay wise (that hammer is the most fun I’ve ever had with a weapon, love it) and only gets better, culminating in a satisfying battle against the Dark Lord, and the music starts off weak but dramatically improves come Immora. I’d give AG as a whole an 8/10, though coming off the heels of its godlike base game I can’t help but feel somewhat disappointed, and I was willing to overlook AG1’s Holt level if it wasn’t for the central lore and twist of AG2. That being said I really liked the World Spear = Spaceship twist, I’ve always wondered what the hell the Wraiths are, and even a little bit of hints at what they are is immensely intriguing and gratifying to me. As a side note, Ancient Gods’ enemy roster is still likable despite being palette swaps for the most part, something I normally loathe in games but give AG a pass considering the pandemic and how they made up for it by trying to make them as different from their normal versions as possible. The few non palette swap enemies are the ones I don’t enjoy for the most part, curiously. Turrets are just there, Blood Maykrs can have the entirety of the World Spear shoved up their collective ass, Spirits are overall good but take a while to appreciate, and Demonic Troopers are the saddest bois in Doom history. Just a curious aside on my thoughts on the newcomers.
“...tell me. Have you nothing to say to your creator before you strike him down?”
